Saved them from a brush catastrophe too with all those unthinned scrub trees adding to the fuel and making a ladder for a crown fire able to jump to the house.
@@UpstateBrushControl appreciate the info! Bought a 120f at CCE in October. Your videos helped steer me to that carrier. I'm mulching in southern Virginia.
From a marketing standpoint, have you ever thought about putting a small sign up on the finished land ? Maybe put in contract that u would like the sign to stay a week or 2
Thanks for the quick reply bud, I’m fixing to get in the business in South Georgia. Do y’all use anything special for finding/ not going over property lines
In coastal WA commercial Hem/fir stand use feller buncher drop 60' from road . then delimber . my logs are stunted at 129' due to hardpan. Sacrification - standard practice stack limbs in piles leaving stumps and burn piles a year later. Leaves much residue. 47 acres 2nd growth replanted 1978. Adjoining 40 acres cut 20 years ago and replanted and upper story is now killing off brush . Am Courious about multching the limb row total 40 case stand. The stack and burn appears to leave to much residue for replanting. We have local nursery for genetically superior tees based upon micro climate and historical timber stands. Btw when in CA rose out orange groves planted exmas trees using drip irrigation 10' in 3 years.
I would have left about a third of those trees in place, if the customer wanted them... and trimmed the branches up to keep them out of reach of a ground fires.
If you dig the roots a little, then push the tree over with the hoe, the stump comes out with the tree. then nibble dirt off the stump to help fill hole. Followed by chop off stump.See Andrew Camaratas latest vlog, to get the idea. I like your videos, they are interesting and show talented workmanship.
How much do you charge for a job like this? I’m in east TN and need ~4 acres of vines and brush cleared. Hadn’t thought about mulching it...might hire a local if it’s not too pricy.
Upstate Brush Control I was more curious about an hourly rate. I know every job is different. I figured you worked by the hour to make sure you don’t short yourself when quoting a job. In east TN, man and machine runs ~$60/hr for excavator/skid steer work. Just curious what additional cost is for mulching. Thanks!
Yes I actually demoed one. I put probably 25 hours on it. They are great heads but I didn't see hardly any performance difference between it and the fecon. Not worth the $10,000 more than the fecon for me.
Love your videos makes me miss the woods

Thanks for the informative videos Jon. How often do you drop the belly pans on your 120 and clean out the chips and debris?
4-5 weeks depending on what material we are in.

What do you use to get up all the mulch
How long does a job like this take you to complete? Did a great job!
We did this in two days.
Who's doing all that roadside clearing on 74?
The old job you did is looking nice. goo yab
Thanks!
If you don't mind telling, how much did this cost to do? 1 acre, 1/2 acre, 1/3 acre or 1/4 acre?
Guy at work charges 150 an hour for his skidsteer work. This has to be way more. Dam those fecons are so bad ass.
Where do y’all dispose of the logs that you don’t mulch up
We sell them to a log yard.

Has any of your customers, ask if you can pick up the wood chips
Is that how's sausage is made?
Do you remove all the stumps with the mini excavator?
Only when the customer will pay for it.
I'm in Gaffney gotta head up 26
I would have left about a third of those trees in place, if the customer wanted them... and trimmed the branches up to keep them out of reach of a ground fires.
The customer wanted every tree off the property.
How do you like the ASV ?
I love it, it's been a great machine!

The customer did not want the stumps removed on this job, that's why we didn't.
time to get yourself a good chipper -- that wood help your work and save a bit the heavy mower !

Sorry, I don't give out my pricing, every job is different.
2 or 3 trees(30 to 40 ft maples) up here in MA with stump run 1800 but I heard it's more expensive up here

Have you ever considered denis cimaf heads?
Isn’t that head same style as denis cimaf?

@@cookiesservices4552 yes very similar to the fecon. I am pretty sure it takes a little bigger bite.
