    This could have been prevented . Any case of a student making threats and not taking attending classes seriously . Should not be allowed in school . He should have done virtual learning . Those 4 would be alive and the dad would not be in the situation that he is facing .

      A “friend” I went to school with once told me where in the school it would make sense to strategically place bombs (was also 14 at the time).
      He ended up having a talk with the principle because I reported it. He didn’t end up doing anything and hated me for reporting it but it just felt off to me why someone would even mention something like this.

    The school and his father were told to monitor his behavior after he made a threat online of a school shooting. He was allowed to be truant and skip classes on a regular basis. He should've been expelled in 2023.

      Yes they do get expelled or suspended from school now at least in my area of Ohio 2 of my granddaughter's fourth grade classmates were sent home and not allowed on school property for 3 or 5 days for calling each other names

      If the dad knew his son planned on doing this I would agree with you. If he didn't, what would you charge him with. Safe storage laws are unconstitutional, they deny you the ability to instantly defend yourself. According to the FBI there are 1.6 million home invasions in this country each year, multiple armed assailants forcing their way into an occupied home in seconds. Should all those victims be left defenseless? Should they tell the criminals can you please wait for me to get my protection out of the safe? There are numerous occasions throughout history where teenagers who were home alone defended themselves from home invasions and attackers with their families firearms. Should all these victims be left defenseless?

    This is America! It's a shame that teachers have to walk around in small town America (and everywhere) with a panic button attached to them. They need to start holding parents responsible for these crimes and having open access to these types of weapons. Especially when the threat has already been verified. Lots of blame to hold, but none of it will bring these people back.
