    Krill is the best out of the 3. Down to the bottom bait cracking and splitting is what u need. Easier for the fish to digest

    I've heard of freezer baits floating when the egg in it goes rotten, there's a fishery by me that is freezer baits only when it comes to bollies so nothing is left rotting. I'm currently timing paste breaking up in a tank 🤣

      Hi Steve, Thanks for commenting. It should prove interesting, it's quite surprising how baits, paste, and groundbait actually react, compared to how we imagine they react. I remember about this time last year dropping a pva nuget in the margins. The water temp was 8.5°, it was still there 45 mins later, so I stopped using it in winter after that. Tight lines for your next trip out, and good luck with the timings 👍😎

    Great video, I tend to judge baits by how long they stay fresh. By that I mean, how long they last before they start shrinking and going hard. That tells me if bait was freshly made, or if it was sitting in a warehouse for months or years before being delivered to the shops. A simple test is, if you can squash one between your fingers easily while in the packaging, it must have been made fairly recently, also looking at the size is a good indicator, of say a 15mm boilie, if it looks more like a 12mm, then it must be an old bag of boilies that has started to dry out. I am a right sod for doing things like that, I don’t use that many boilies when I go fishing, I want to make sure they last a long time.

    Would the pressure in a deeper lakes make them split or brake down faster than a tank test thanks

      Hi there, I am afraid I don't know the answer to that question, a lot of people speculate that it have an effect, along with undertow and fish activity, although I have watch other people's underwater footage and after 48hrs and the fish activity the boilies have remained intact, but I have not been able to test this out for myself on deep venues only venues I have been able to wade out to and place a camera in. Hope that helps, tight lines for your next trip out 😎👍

    You should have used a premium dynamite Bait like complex T not the cheap stuff

    Just a tip mate you have tested freezer against shelf life there! One is also a high attract bait (dynamite) so not sure how you can compare really but hey ho!! And nowadays making cork balls are for putting ur own flavours together to make a hookbait that nobody else has cos everyone knows pop ups of todays time stay popped up for a week or more

    Not a very good test, as someone has already said, using Dynamite cheap baits shelf life, against premium freezer baits. And of course they will stand up for a very long time, there is no pressure at all in that tank, there is no way that cheap Dynamite baits one, will still be upright in a lake after 48 hours, if you want to find out how water pressure affects really buoyant pop ups, take a look at Proper Job Popups, he done proper tests up to , I think 40 feet, using a proper tank. There is nothing learnt from this test at all.

      @@boldersa Yes I know, but you did not give an opinion on popups, you actually done inaccurate tank tests, also stating that you will debunk some of the popular myths around popups and bottom baits, so unless you do proper testing, what have you actually debunked ?

    • @boldersa
      @boldersa  Рік тому +2

      What I have debunked Steve to MY personal satisfaction, is that the shop bought pop ups that I use, do not as some anglers told me on the bank, sink after a short period of time. I fully admit the test is not infallible, but no test is because whether my tank is a foot deep or 40 foot deep, it can not replicate the conditions of a lake, canal or river bed, pressure, tow, insects, small fish ect and as I don't own a diving suit or have any desire to sit on the lake bed for 5 days as I expect you haven't either, then it's not an accurate test. So perhaps the answer Steve, is for you to sit on a lake bed for five days, while you carry out a proper test as you put it, and then you can argue with DATA and not just YOUR opinion.
      So here's some data for you, the video was originally released around 3 -4 years ago, over 110,000 people worldwide have watched the video, the majority of people who have commented said they enjoyed it and found it useful, some like yourself, didn't.
      As previously stated, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

    • @stevehughes1453
      @stevehughes1453 Рік тому +1

      @@boldersa You do not need to sit on a lake bed for 5 days, all you need is the correct equipment, which can replicate the water pressure up to most depths, which is what I said, and it has been done. And here is some data for you, as you seem to think it is important. You have had 110,000 views in 3-4 years, out of that you got a huge 13 likes, and only 9 people have commented, so I think from those stats, proves my point.

    • @boldersa
      @boldersa  Рік тому +1

      @steve HUGHES Thank you so much, Steve, for providing me with the stats from the video (as if I wasn't aware of them)
      As I stated, when the video was ORIGINALLY UPLOADED 3 - 4 years ago, it had over 110,000 views, many comments, and many likes.
      The video was taken down along with all my others after 2 years approximately. Then, the videos were all republished around a year ago due to popular demand.
      In case you were unaware, once you remove a video from UA-cam, you lose all of the stats.
      That's why the current views are only 1,100 approximately.
      So all you have proven, it's the videos current popularity since it was republished.
      If you believe that the most important factor in testing boilies is water pressure, then that's your opinion, which I have already stated, you are entitled to.
      So, as I said, carry out your "proper test" Upload your video with its findings, and we shall see if everyone agrees with you.
      Personally, I prefer to go out and catch a few fish. Tight lines, Steve.
