Yeap. New Škoda trains are expected to enter service in September 2023 earliest. It will take a while (probably more than a year) until they replace the ER2s completely.
Thanks for the feedback! 🙂 We’ll see it they leave at least one of them in operational condition. Whether you will see them or not, depends on the month that you have in mind for a visit 🙂
True, but I doubt that some train manufacturer would reproduce such loud and old school engine sound (like you hear on the video) on the new modern trains 😁
The sound of the engines are great!
Indeed!
Самая лучшая электричка всех времён
Lieliski! Vilcieni man būtībā jau patikuši kopš bērnības.
Man tāpat!

Pagaidām visi vilcieni Latvijā ir šie vecie vilcieni, bet drīz būs jauni Škodas vilcieni
Will there be ER2s in October 2023?

Phenomenal video and footage! I was wondering if I could use this footage for a documentary about the ER2, I would credit you in the description.
Thank you so much for this video! Will the new Skoda trains replace all of them? Or will some still stay in service? Want to visit Latvia in 2024. :)

Man Pātik vilciens
Šiem vilcieniem ir laba motora skaņa, jaunie būs klusi :(
Jaunie vilcieni būs savādāki un viņiem būs sava estetika. Bet esošo vilcienu šarms pazūdīs gan..
in instance for electric cars manufacturers adding sound of old cars motors to remind of nice engine sounds )))
