~~~ I find the very words -ROOT CELLAR- nostalgic, as we had one when I was growing up in Ohio. Florida doesn't even have basements LOL. Hope you got to the ROOT of the problem. Sorry, just had to. I do miss the beers back there. CHEERS !!! ))))))))))
An alternative to your plans would be to start referring to your space as a "bothy" and doing your best impression of Ralfy's whisky reviews. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
We had some water basement issues as well. Ripped out the existing carpet. Put in vinyl plank and re routed the gutters further from the house. Been good since
I hate water issues, you never know if its gone or gona come back. at least its not ruining drywall. so it's not too hard to go back and get it patched... I had basement water issues before, and one of the times, it was the adhesive between the parts of the foundation. but the best fix it to get water running away from the house vs sitting next to the foundation.
Hahaha I think I did get to the root of it. Cheers, Greg!
That is what makes me so mad is that we added a gutter to that side of the house and it still leaked. Ugh. Glad to hear that you had success. Cheers!
It really does suck and you are absolutely right about keeping the water away from the house. Cheers, Ross!
Leave it this way and install a “Pittsburgh toilet” to sit on instead.
Hmmmm
