Reviewing an EXPENSIVE vs CHEAP BREAKFAST in CENTRAL LONDON!

- Опубліковано 19 вер 2023
- Today is a very different type of video... I asked you whether or not you'd like to see me review another expensive full English breakfast and the majority of you said yes, so I decided to visit the Wolseley in London. However, I also decided to visit a cheaper place so that everyone is happy. A bit of a new format, please let me know what you thought of the video and the food!
Please don't forget to like and subscribe to the channel.
Which would would you prefer to go to? The Wolseley or the Little Portland Cafe?
The Wolseley is a great experience and all over very high quality, never had breakfast there, but had dinner there several times. Never been to the Portland cafe, but will pay them a visit as soon as possible to have a full English, been a while. Great concept and great reviews as always, Gary. Keep up the fabulous work you guys are doing. 😀
The Wolseley was a world-famous car dealership, then became a renowned branch of Barclays bank and now serves overpriced breakfasts because the Ritz is next door.
@@chrisnewell2107 putting on the Ritz.
Really appreciate that my friend, your comments are always much appreciated. Have a great week!
Glad you enjoyed the Wolseley as much as I did!
By the looks it's not for me
The sausage is overrated and just half a bloody tomato the eggs are too freash also not excluding the tea
Before I forget were is the toast ???
@@xarisstylianou😂😂🤣🤣🐑🐑🐑
I would go for the Portland Cafe simply because I like supporting small businesses that operate on a tiny profit margin. Times are hard for these small business owners and they always hope their great prices and high quality bring in loyal customers.
Very good point and I would agree with you :)
Well said!
Id say it’s all relative. Paying for that location, the chefs, the quality waiting staff, the ingredients.
Portland cafe is very good been there a few times 👌🏻
tiny profit margin? they are selling £1.50 worth of food for £7.50
The little Portland cafe is a real gem. What a bargain.
Fantastic little place.
I think me and you have different views regarding a bargain
Was going to say the Wolseley price wasn't too bad for the experience until I realised you had to pay so much for the tea, no toast and the service charge. The Portland sounded fantastic value for such good food.
Spot on Lesley.
15% service charge is ,quite simply, robbery. Just be honest and put your prices up. What charlatans!!
Yeah, I bet the staff don't get 15% of the takings.
That guy behind you is absolutely mesmerised by the fact you’re being filmed eating a breakfast 😂
Lol I noticed that as well.
that was so funny, i became mesmerised by the mesmerised guy
You don't get those folk in the Wolseley
@@RLJIM unnecessary. Times have changed.
@@catificationcornernot for the better
Personally I wouldn't pay £23 for a breakfast, but I understand why people would. Breathtakingly beautiful building and quality ingredients.
Nice for special occasions so I'd pick the café as my go to.... and the posh place for Weddings, funerals and bar mitsfas. Lol
I agree, Nigel. It's not something I would do normally but I love bringing these types of videos to you all and it's a good experience nonetheless. Haha, thanks for watching!
Bar mitzvah’s !!! Oi veh !!!
Being a Midlands girl I can't justify the price at the hotel. Obviously the produce is great quality but £23 for an expensive sausage, black pudding and eggs is a lot. I thought the tea would be included 😅. At that price I would want to take one of the "condiments" home with me.
You are paying to be there - are people in the Midlands not keen on the occasional splurge?
@@jamesprice4647 not at that price lol. I get you are paying for the ambiance and prestige but to not get a cuppa included either I thought was expensive. The beans and half a tomato are pence. A sausage and 2 eggs and few streaky bacon cost £23. I'm sure it was delicious but in my opinion too expensive for meal served. ...yes Midlanders are scrooges haha
That's a fair comment. I don't usually go to places the Woseley - it's strictly for content only haha. Thanks for watching!
@@GaryEats It's great that you went there and dine at a variety of places. I love watching all kinds. It would be boring if you just did posh or cheap 🙂
Ur right love anyone that pays that is nuts 🥜
I loved the ambience and deco of the Wolseley, but the price was too high. The breakfast itself looked superb and of high quality. Maybe a special treat would take me there for breakfast. The Portland seemed to be a nice cosy little cafe, the breakfast a standard decent one. You are right, the Wolseley put Harrods to shame. Sort your breakfasts out Harrods!
Fair enough and I completely agree with you. Harrods... wow. So poor. Thanks for watching!
You should of asked the guy in the cafe eyeballing the cameraman his opinion of the breakfast 😂
The cameraman told me about this afterwards... he better not be trying to poach him away from me. Haha, thanks for watching!
That was a very expensive breakfast, Gary, but there was no doubting the quality and the overall ambiance. However, it would be the small cafe for me every time!😊
Like having a drink on St Mark's Square you are paying for an aesthetic experience in the Wolseley.
No problem Sheila... same for me as well!
@jamesprice4647 You remind me of a visit to Venice with my mom about 5 years before she died. She'd had very little chance to travel outside the US and really wanted to enjoy it. There was a gelateria on St Mark's with tables set out in the plaza. We were urged by multiple people not to waste our money (as gelatto could be bought from the same shop for carry and eat MUCH more cheaply). But she wanted to sit and enjoy being where she was. We got an ice cream concoction that came on a silver tray, with multiple lavish dishes containing whipped cream (not the spray-can sort, but cream, whipped with sugar and vanilla), cherry sauce, chocolate sauce, and additional crumbled cookies to sprinkle over as we progressed through the really very impressive amount of completely delicious vanilla and cherry gelattos. I ordered a glass of prosecco, because vacation, and she had a bottle of sparkling water. Including the service charge, about which the waiter was very apologetic and concerned that we were aware, we spent around 40 euros. Best money I spent that trip. I can still see mom sitting there, smiling and listening (half understanding, because accent) to that wonderfully kind young waiter telling her about the history of the square, and eating her gelatto. I had to help her, and then my sister and niece came along to tell us how we could have spent less at the counter. We absolutely could have. But I have the memory of that hour in St Mark's when mom was happy and enjoying the big world, feeding cookie crumbs to the pigeons, and I would do it again every time.
I remember when I first moved to London and was looking for a fry up one day. Came across the Portland cafe and it was magical. Was sat beside three old jewish ladies down the back who were eating bowls of custard covered sponge! The fry was amazing, best black pudding I've ever had in London!
It's a lovely cafe isn't it?
As a Brit in Texas I don’t miss a chance for a full English. One of the very best I have ever had was in the United Airlines lounge at Heathrow. I had time to burn so I went to the lounge with my pass and I was astonished to see everything for a full English laid out buffet style. You could have whatever you want and it was all fresh and piping hot.
Needless to say the next meal offered in flight was given a pass as I was stuffed!
Wow. I might have to do that if I end up in the States!
I have been to a lot of United lounges globally and the one at Heathrow is the best. Sort of surprised that it is the best English you have had there but it is an excellent lounge.
Little Portland cafe seems amazing value especially in an expensive part of London.
It's exceptional value. Could have got a huge breakfast for 8.50... excellent cafe.
The poached eggs looked like perfection to be honest.
They were pretty spot on. Thanks for watching!
Looked so round and looked it up extra step of service and expenpertise.
breakfast look like shit
Why doesn't the Wolseley serve toast with their full breakfast? I can't imagine not wanting toast - and butter - with this delicious-looking breakfast!
I thought that was a bit mean as well.
What on earth?! I thought the toast must have been off camera! You can't have a fry without toast!
I wondered this also. No toast to dip in your yolk?
They do its an extra 14.99
@@joshthomas9330 Stop! Surely nobody could charge 15 quid for toast!
I couldn’t justify the price at the Wolseley. I’d feel more comfortable at the Portland both with the surroundings and quality/price. Impressed with the sauces and the Cumberland sausage.
Completely agree with you!
Can't compare when you only pick a small breakfast, if you couldn't manage a full breakfast then don't eat the same in one day. Unfair contest from the start. But I'd pick the cheap option full breakfast, it looked much nicer & came with toast & proper bacon.
Already been addressed. Thanks for watching!
Agreed - the Portland Cafe was always going to suffer due to the 'second breakfast' setup. Appetite is a crucial factor in this sort of review.
I was very impressed with the Breakfast at the Little Portland Cafe, also big thumbs up for not using normal (dreadful) catering sausage!!
The sausage defines the quality of the breakfast in my opinion. As soon as you see the catering chip shop sausage, I'm just not a fan.
@@andrewroberts4736 It’s dreadful isn’t it!!
Completely agree. Lovely little cafe and I will be going back!
Everything looks absolutely amazing. Enjoy my taste buds are going crazy.
The expensive one for a treat every now and again but that second place would be where I'd be eating most of the time 👍
Completely agree. Thanks for watching!
We need more corner cafes but it is good for you to live it up .. and see what we Are missing 😊
I agree Maureen.
I’d would have preferred you did the two on different days. And spent an extra £1
I agree bro felt like you couldn’t really judge it not being the full breakfast at the second cafe
What I really enjoy about your videos is how you make the content so interesting and leave it to us to help you decide too. I'd enjoy both breakfasts but just on the strength of value, the Portland Cafe looked a really nice breakfast for Central London. Thank you for all the great videos.
I appreciate your kind comments as always Stephanie. Completely agree with your assessment as well, thank you so much.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
Hello Gary. Both places had quality breakfasts in their own way. However, being a Yorkshireman, I'd opt for the Little Portland Cafe as it was still quality at a much cheaper price. The Wolseley ('ow much for a bacon roll??) would still be a good experience for the ambience and quality breakfast (maybe once). Our best experience when we were in the UK was the Regency Cafe as I've mentioned before. Iconic ! I am amazed that you managed 2 breakfasts though ! PS - does the cameraman get fed on your videos? (LOL). I must say English breakfasts far outdo the ones here. Loving your channel & keep up the good work !
I think that's completely fair Robert. The Portland Cafe was a lovely little place and I would highly recommend giving it a try when you're next in London. Thanks as always and have a good week!
Yorkshiremen have short arms and deep pockets 😂
Love the review! In the States I have to make my own English breakfast. So fried eggs, beans, (Canadian) bacon (but my son prefers American smoked bacon), big sausage(s), cooked tomatoes, mushrooms but everyone wants more hash browns/fried potatoes instead of mushrooms or tomatoes. And no one wants tea or black pudding...except me (then again I was born in Canada and raised properly until we headed south in the 1970's)
Thank you!
The Wolseley is a modern classic. Sometimes it’s difficult to imagine it hasn’t been there for 100 years. When I lived in London, it was a perfect place for a business breakfast meeting or a special lunch/dinner with loved ones and friends. You were rarely disappointed. I remember coming in there one day after the artist Lucian Freud passed away (he was a regular), they had one table with a black table cloth and a single candle burning all day in his memory. Pure class.
I love the history side of London. A big reason why I chose the Wolseley. Excellent location and thanks for watching!
Lucian Freud could definitely afford it there😂
Looked really nice , I would have thought the tea strainer would have been turned while pouring and then turned back to catch any drips after pour stoped .
😂
It was lovely. The tea was good... even if I didn't know how to properly work the thing!
Yes, Alan.....I had a giggle as well! He'll know next time!
What a catchphrase LETS GIVE IT A GO!!
Thank you. Been saying it all my life!!
Yes the cafe breakfast looks nice, I like the bacon much better than that horrible streaky in the posh restaurant, I like streaky but for me it's got to be crispy, much nicer breakfast in the cafe
I also much prefer back bacon. I've never been a fan of streaky bacon!
Another successful and interesting review. I would have gone for the Wolseley. I love streaky bacon and a good real black pudding. I would like a nice fried slice for the eggs to sit on!!
I would have expected the tea to be included.
Keep up the great work.
Thank you Andrew once again. Really appreciate it! The Wolseley location was incredibly nice as well.
For most folks who want a cheap breaky got to be your second choice.. Got to be sausage , bacon beans, black pudding, mushrooms,.GOT TO BE TINNED TOMATOES AND FRIED BREAD. Not sure where hash browns sneaked in
Agreed John!
I like bubble and squeak rather then black pudding
Wish you had tried the bubble! Food looked lovely at the Wolesley but a shame it didn’t come with either fried bread, toast or at least bread and butter for the price. Hubby Joe would have loved the black pud!
Will try the bubble next time. Had lots of people telling me that I need to have more bubble!
Man such quality content for such a small channel, so happy youtube recommended your channel to me, I love watching your videos.
Welcome aboard! Extremely kind words - thank you.
what a good idea gary , to compare the two venues.they both looked like a good breakfast .but because of the price at the wolseley that would have to be a treat.the portland looked good value and as a working class lad , that would be my choice .keep up the good work gary .
Thank you Michael... really appreciate that. I can't disagree with your choice either!
The first time I saw The Wolseley Breakfast I thought, 'now that's more like it'. Definitely pricey though. But, hey! I'd go there just the once for the experience. Good Comparison video!
Thank you! Yep, the W was lovely.
I loved the 2nd breakfast you had , the cup of tea looked huge too & brown sauce is a must with a full english another excellent video 😊👍
Thank you Nicholas :)
Love your posts. Thank you.
You are very welcome and I really appreciate that!
The bacon in the caff looked far superior to the bacon in the Wolseley
Fair comment Joe. I prefer back bacon also!
The cheaper breakfast looked just as good, if not better. Cannot justify the price difference. Still, if you're rich you pay for the ambience (no poor people).
Fair comment. Luckily, I only do places like the Wolseley for content otherwise my wallet would be screaming at me!
@@GaryEats Thanks. I like nice places too, I just wanted to be clear on my reaction. Please keep up the good work. Love the show.
Great reviews! Its the Little Portland Cafe for me!
Will definitely go!
Hope you enjoy it and thank you!
Can't wait to visit in a couple of weeks, for sure I will be stopping by the little Portland Cafe. Thank you Gary for finding this gem
This is definitely worth a visit
Watching the poached eggs I'd give my left arm to know how they cooked it to that shape and to perfection. You'd have to give the first place a whirl at least once but fir me you can't beat a decent caff just like the one you visited. Lovely.
Completely agree John. I could never get them like that either. Looking forward to what Dublin has to offer in the form of breakfasts when I'm there soon.
Looking forward to it Gary!
You get some eggs and prepare an ice water bath. Leave eggs out for 1 min. Bring water to a boil and put the eggs in for around 7.5-8 mins (my estimate is based on how runny it looks in your vid). Then take the eggs out and leave in ice bath for around 4 mins for them to cool. Then you can eat or store in the fridge. The timing can vary depending on number of eggs, the type of pot, how hot/cold the water is, so you can experiment and tweak. The theory is basically you cook the eggs to the desired consistency and then immediately cool it to stop it from cooking further. Much cheaper, but do use high quality eggs as you are eating them semi-raw!
Essential on a breakfast is a potato dish, hash brown, potato cake/scone etc. You should let us know if eggs are free range or caged, as some of us don’t like eating caged hens eggs.
Fair comment!
Not on a traditional English. Especially the American hash brown.
Very suprising to find such a good value cafe in such an expensive part of London. I bet the owners are rubbing their hands together in anticipation of an even bigger increase in Big Breakfast sales! 👐 💯 👍
Well deserved 👌
Another good video Gary, I have only just come across your channel and I'm really enjoying the videos.
Lovely to hear Robert. Thanks for watching!
Boiled eggs with their shells off.
Thanks for watching Peter.
For the experience the Wolsey was very nice - breakfast well cooked -nice surroundings. Expensive though. The cafe was ordinary nice breakfast but very much cheaper. Again it depends what you want in life - but its the food you go to eat not the surroundings. Interesting to see the differences.
Totally agree! Just a video to showcase the difference and also to show that the price point is based on location not food as both were great!
They both look lovely breakfast nice video to do both places hopefully you keeping well see you on the next video can't wait
Thank you Luke - really appreciate that. Thanks for watching!
Love the vlogs keep on doing them you show the people that even if it’s cheap it can why better then the most expensive thanks
Thank you Hannan!
I've had a lovely breakfast in London. It costs about £12. It's in Baker Street on the corner downstairs looking across at Madame Tussaud's That includes tea/coffee and toast
Do you have the name of that Molly? Thanks for watching!
@@GaryEats no sorry I don't know the name of it. It's the opposite end to the tube station, and the entrance is directly opposite the side of Tussaud's. They've usually got tables outside then the restaurant is downstairs. The choice of food is really good. I've had breakfast there every time I stay up
For m the wolseley
2nd cafe lost me with the beans!!
They look dry/hard and the sauce looks thin.
And the egg don't look great.
And there ain't much to look at
Excellent quality of food and the venue was beautiful. A treat once in a while!
I used to supply it with organic eggs from. Happy chickens
Great video as always. These videos always makes me hungry. Also, as my mother and I always say, you can’t have a fry up without the brown sauce. If you do come to Ireland sometime, you should try the Chef Brown Sauce with a fry up here. It’s the Irish brown sauce.
Great to hear. Can't wait to come over.
They are worlds apart , definitely the cafe if just out for a Friday breakfast with the lads from work .Now if I was down in London for a weekend with my other half we,d find the Wolseley a memorable treat , You pay for the service and the ambience , the cafe looked good but hey a mug of tea or delivered in fancy silverware .Another entertaining video Gary.
Thanks Kevin!
A great Vid Gary. The Wolseley looked a league above to that abysmal effort at Harrods. I never eat in the famous department stores restaurants as find them overpriced and lesser quality than say a restaurant around the corner a few seconds walk away
Yes it was and I completely agree with you. I've been told to go back to Harrods to try their fish and chips... probably give it a miss!
@@GaryEats definitely give it a miss, Poppies is best Fish & Chips I’ve had in London. Better up North though being a Derbyshire native😉
No toast?
No toast. Didn't come with the breakfast... an extra £5.50.
Great video this. You are funny. Love it. As said on a previous comment of mine to a previous video, you're In my top three UA-cam food reviewers. Class. Keep on Gary, we need ya
Wow, thanks! All the best 😊
Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks! Will do!
It's all about the sausage. A cheap breakfast is always going to show itself by its poor quality sausage. Got to be lincolnshire sausage, Best sausages you can get. I think the second breakfast sausage looked dodgy didn't look like a Cumberland sausage more like some kind of Walls processed rubbish. Better off with a Wetherspoons.
'spoons? Noooooooooo.
Yeah ok they're rubbish.... but very occasionally you get a good breakfast there...if you're particularly hung over or haven't eaten for three days.@@jamesprice4647
Fair comment. I do agree with you on the sausage part, have to say that the sausage from Little Portland was really good. I don't think it was a catering sausage. Thanks for watching!
Poached eggs with a Full English is unspeakable villainy. This is no time to be worrying about the healthy option. And for that price you'd think they'd throw in a whole tomato.
Poached eggs rule!
@edmunddantes4757 agreed.. but not in a full English they don't
Oh villainy, look at you with the big words 🤣🤣
Agree to disagree on that one, I love poached eggs with a full English!
Unspeakable Villiany eh! 😂
Really enjoyed listening to you and seeing quality food . Made me feel hungry.
Good stuff!
Love it, good job Sir, with respect from New Jersey, USA.
Thank you very much!
Love english breakfast, I prepare it often for my kids. Like your videos much, funny insight in english dining culture, sometimes scary, everytime quality time!!!!
Thanks for watching and very kind of you :)
I love watching your videos. Keep up the good work. For me the worsley for a special occasion/ treat. The Portland looked a more relaxing place to eat and great value for money.
Ah that’s much appreciated my friend, glad you like them.
Great video as ever Gary.
Defo going to treat myself to the Wolseley.
Keep up the good work.

It’s absolutely stunning inside and worth a visit for sure
Lovely breakfast, Thanks Gary ❤🙏🇬🇧
You're more than welcome
Enjoyed this as usual ….well done Gary . I would have to sprinkle some white pepper on the beans 🤣👍. Looking forward to the next review. 👍
Thanks Jim. Glad you're enjoying it! 👍
The wolseley is very high end and for nearly thirty odd quid it should be.
The Portland cafe seems very good and serves you a good meal at a very reasonable price.
Thanks for sharing Gary
☕👍
Was a very expensive breakfast Gary , but the quality was there ,but for me is the little Portland cafe great videos x
Totally agree and thank you so much.
Bodywarmer off = Posh food
Bodywarmer on = Working class food.
Love it 😂
😁 Laughed out loud. I didn't even notice myself doing it!
Great video !
Thank you!
Nice looking sausage and bacon at the Portland. Just round the corner from where I use to work over 25 years ago. Nice to see toast and tea included for a change.
Portland is excellent. Highly recommend it Palace. Thanks for watching :)
Fascinating that you had two breakfasts and even enjoyed the second one. The cafe would be my choice. The Corner Cafe by the railway bridge on Lambeth Road was one I used to frequent some years back. Can get busy but turnover quick. That could be one for you to try.
I didn't feel so great afterwards mate. I'll take a look at that, thank you!
Second time I’ve watched your videos today (Heston fish and chips). YT recommendation - new sub here! Great videos 👍
Welcome aboard Bessie. Glad you’re liking the videos! 😊
hi gary, both looked good but i would go to cafe anytime, good content as usual.
You and me both! The café was excellent and the owners are very friendly as well.
*Outstanding Breakfast Comparison of the Expensive v Cheaper Choices in London 👌🙌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻*
I agree.everyday value, definitely the cafe- I would equally enjoy this place.
But,for a treat- definitely the Worsley .
When in town for a few days,I would like to try out the both. Awesome watching, really handy to know thank you
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your kind comments!
Only just found you recently on UA-cam, love all your reviews Gary.
That’s very kind Chris and I really appreciate you subscribing, watching and commenting it so really appreciated
Nice place nice breakfast. What more do you want...😊 good luck..
Thank you 😋 and I completely agree!
Love the videos, thank you very much for your candid remarks when summing up. Please, however, stop paying the service charge, it isn't mandatory any more. Establishments should leave it to your judgement whether you wish to pay it (does it say discretionary service charge by any chance, because really it should) Thanks again.
Noted and thank you very much for your kind comments.
New Subscriber Gary, enjoyed watching this but as a pensioner I would have too use the Portland, will catch up with your other videos at my leisure 👍👍
Thanks for subbing! Really glad you're enjoying my videos!
Great video. Very fair.
Glad you think so!
The Wolseley looks incredible!!! those poached eggs ! and of course the ambiance
Best poached eggs I’ve ever had, Sally
❤ these reviews.👍
Glad you like them!
Good to see a £ comparison Gary - If I was simply hungry one morning in that area I'd go for the Portland, down to earth and decent value, however if i wanted to treat myself (and the Mrs) then i would definitely consider the Wolseley just for the surroundings alone. I'd probably have a hangover from the night before so wouldn't care too much about the £ there.
Thanks Joe! Hope you're keeping well mate. Haha deffo.
Your channel is whizzing along Gary …and I’m not surprised..it’s one of the best food reviews on You tube ..well presented, informative and honest ..both breakfasts looked great but I think the Portland gets my vote on value for money 👍
Thank you David. Very kind of you to say.
As long as you enjoyed it, Gary, I'm happy for you.
Black pudding is missing from the shelves of any NZ supermarkets I've visited recently, along with liverwurst.
Next Sunday I’m going to try and replicate the posh breakfast . reason it’s the best looking breakfast I ever did see
Give it a go. Glad you liked the look of it!
Looks lovely. Tea strainer lesson needed, tilt slightly to the side. The base is for resting.
Definitely needed Lisa!
I love going out to breakfast, it's my favourite meal and the Wolseley looked tremendous. It's all about the ingredients and ambience at that price level. The sausage black pudding is such a great idea, but it has to be good quality in the Lancashire league and looks like it really hit the spot for you! So, I would love to go to the Wolseley once every three months and then the Portland the rest of the time. The Portland looked like a real family restaurant that cared about what they were serving. Two breakfasts in the same day? You had the same shirt on, you must have been totally stuffed!! Also, your dedicated cameraperson (him/her?) is really developing a great style with the coverage. It's upholding the unique quality you have as a host, but also savouring the journey though the plate you have been served. Congratulations! By the way, does the cameraperson ever get to eat as well, you've probably been asked this before!?
Lovely assessment and I agree with you entirely. I had two breakfasts in one day, I had to waddle on the journey home. For future video, I will do them both on separate days for a more fair comparison. That's very kind of you Monro, I will pass your comments onto the cameraman (it's a him) and I really appreciate your thoughtful message. He does eat from time to time but tends to leave it when it's a bit more difficult to eat and film! Thanks for watching!
The cafe breakfast looked very inviting!
It was!
Really enjoying your movies. The art-deco design of the Wolseley is exquisite. Former car showroom. Suggest you do cocktails and nibbles in Duke's Hotel nearby.
Great suggestion and thank you. The deco is incredible.
Love your channel Gary
Thank you my friend!
I would of picked the Portland, reason being fantastic value for money with quality ingredients. Also looks a nice cost place to go. Wolsely looked very fancy and the food looked amazing but again with this current climate Portland offer so much for your money. Good review👍
Good choice and thank you very much. Have a great week.
Love your vids Gary! Nga mihi, Marcus, down here in Aotearoa New Zealand 😊.
Glad you like them! Hello to NZ!
The Wolseley is one of my favorites in London. I always go for breakfast when I’m over. You can get a good fry up anywhere - should’ve ordered the devilled kidneys. An absolutely delicious, old school, hearty British breakfast. I get them every time. I like that the tea is a good old fashioned silver service too.
The only downside is there are a lot of business meetings over breakfast - you have to listen to so much b.s. around you.
Thanks for the videos.
Loved the ambience at the Wolseley.
Haven't had a full English for ages. After watching you eat I really need one
Thank you Robert... go and grab yourself one this week!
Something good to be said about both places. I could enjoy both .
Good stuff George.
Hi Gary . Good video ,but I had to smile, the tea strainer in the Wolsely ,when you use the strainer you rotate it ,the cup underneath is to catch any drips. 🇬🇧😂
Sorry about that David. I'm used to just pouring my tea from a kettle haha. Thanks for watching!
Cheers gary, like watching english breakfast content and you've already done a few. Luvly Jubbly
Thank you my friend :)
Hi Gary! Great recommendation thank you! We just gave Little Portland Cafe a go! - attentive staff.. good food … great value! Mushrooms & brown sauce 👌🏻 a recommendation for you to try … Andy’s Greek Taverna in Camden Town & Lokkanta in Bayswater .. enjoy! Paul & Lisa
Hi Lisa and Paul, believe it or not I’m going back tomorrow myself as I don’t think I gave it a fair review first time but I’m so pleased you had a good time, both of you have a great week 😊
Small cafe for me definitely, good combination of quality and value for money 👌👍
Good choice John.
The common breakfast, enjoyed across the British Isles, is the best breakfast. Egypt have a similar thing, ful medames, but beans are essential.
Sounds great!
