This is an awesome boat for rivers man. I have a mayfly now and love it but when I'm ready to get a new boat down the road I'm glad you guys made something comparable that will work on my skinny homewaters.
First “like” first “comment”!!! GREAT redesign of a phenomenal signature kayak!!! You guys hit this one outta the park!!! GREAT JOB JACKSON KAYAK!!! And great job Mr Funk for the walkthrough!!! 👍🏼👍🏼🔥😁
I appreciate Jackson taking an existing platform and improving it. But, for my personal uses, I’d love to see them come out with this type of hull design in a smaller 10-11 ft platform. I understand that in a smaller platform that you may not get the performance that you might in a boat this size. But the choices are very few in that category. Weight isn’t as big of an issue for me. But something mid 10ft and 70ish pounds would be nice. And no tunnel style hull. Something nice and round like the X would be killer.
This is the next boat should Jackson look into evolving. Gimme this with a better seat and a front hatch. There’s juice there. Just have your people give it a squeeze.
I have a Coosa X and absolutely love it. The only thing that bothers me about it and its really just the Military in me where everything is matching and exact, the Tri-Tracks on it are different colors from each other. One is black and one is a greenish black. Other than that its perfect.
I love my 21 coosa hd, but it would be better with that new seat system. Not sure how i feel about the new stern, and the foot rests need a serious facelift. I understand their placement, but the footrests themselves could look a lot better. Otherwise, the X is a gorgeous evolution of the Coosa HD. I definitely want one.
I didn't have any problems running class 2 or 3 in the OG Coosa or the HD. Just another Barge for people who can't paddle or have any skill. To big and to heavy, Not everyone wants or needs a F'n barge on the river. What a disappointment!!! Bring back the OG COOSA
Well, as a no skill paddler, this kicks the OGs tail in every category except weight. Period. To call it a barge without a fair paddle ain't right. Try one, you will see. Try mine, I'd love to see your face when you experience it!
@@ChrisFunktheFeralOne We have tried all of the big kayaks from Jackson and they are way to big and that is right!! We would like to see smaller kayaks being made. I don't need a 34 + inch wide kayak to go fishing where I go. You can't maneuver them as well, they are hard to car top, and they lack the speed needed to get off the water quick incase of a storm. To get rid of the original and replace it with this just upsets us. We love the original, hell I have owned six of them and own three still. We would like to see kayaks 10-11 1/2 ft long, under 33" wide and weighting somewhere around 60 pounds!! This is the voice of so many of your customers. Please listen and don't get on to us when we express our opinions.
@@ChrisFunktheFeralOne I had the O.G. Coosa and I only had it fore about 3 days because of my height I always felt like I was fixing to swim. Is the Coosa X the same short dude boat?
A 36" wide 95lb "river boat"? LOL! No thanks. No pod or anything on the deck for storage or graph mount and those foot rests don't look fun at all, especially when bare foot. Other than the big front hatch this is a hard pass for me.
This has a great glide, and a rudder would totally negate the awesome maneuverability for when you need it. Putting a rudder on this would be like putting a trailer hitch on a corvette!
@@ChrisFunktheFeralOne Yet they added pre drilled mounts for a trolling motor, torqeedo, or power pole. They've been making questionable decisions for a few years now and the competition is knocking on their door with some damn good rigs. Something simple like making it "rudder ready" would open sales up to a whole other group of buyers and wouldnt affect tracking or handling at all for the people that don't want a rudder. They drop the Big Rig and release the Knarr.. Great, however you can't buy the Knarr without a pedal drive. Again, selling the Knarr with or without the drive just doubles the opportunity for sales, instead, they lose customers. It's becoming a trend with Jackson.
@@ChrisFunktheFeralOne would be true if the rudder stays down, which it doesn’t. A rudder into current offers the most effective control. Foot controlled rudder the only true hands free steering in kayaking. Every kayak should have one for the ultimate boat control.
@@daveola2105 the 4 bolt system on the back would be pretty simple to rig a rudder on, if you absolutely felt like you needed one. I have never needed one on anything under 14 feet long.
@@Noneya-z8j we will just havta disagree on that I reckon, I have paddled for many a year, and never owned or needed a rudder. My paddle is my rudder and propeller. But if you really wanted one, the 4 bolt system on the back of the X would be pretty simple to add one!
Just picked up my Coosa X in Playa color. Going to have a blast with it in the rivers.

Great work fellas, can't wait to attack Central Texas rivers in the new Coosa X 💯
Thanks for being a huge part of the launch!

Right on! Thanks Jesse!
Nice video Chris
I went with the Bite Angler instead (74lbs) which is an excellent river boat!

Highly recommend you take a look at the Staxx with the fishing kit. jacksonkayak.com/jackson-kayak-staxx/

Exactly!! Who needs a 95 pound kayak!!! Give me the original over this barge any day!!

Different looking kayak, that's for sure. Coosa HD had a better layout in my opinion or even the Coosa FD.
I have a side by side video with the X and HD coming out tomorrow. The X is a dream to fish from, and I ain't blowin' smoke!!!!
