I think Kevin has been really hurt by it all, even though they are still friends. I think that is why he needed to fall in love with dancing again, he was raw and in a darker place, like when he put his face in his birthday cake. He seemed to break down when Giovanni held him. Stacey has been good from him too but a new relationship would be too soon, and she has a boyfriend.
They were, but I think Stacey also immediately did the very humble and gracious thing of shifting the attention off herself and making it about him instead of her, because she knew how much it meant to him. That says a lot about her character.
Faye and Giovanni were my pick for the final as winners. So stunned that Joe and Dianne did not win, but I am happy for Stacey and Kevin. Especially for Kevin. Finally, he's the bride!!! LOL

@@avas2578 We all knew going in that Stacey wasn't going to be the best dancer. That was never the question. So it was never a matter of who would be the best dancer in the final. Otherwise we could have stopped at Week 1 and given the trophy to Ashley. That doesn't mean Stacey wasn't a deserving winner. She couldn't possibly dance as well as Ashley or Faye, but she performed brilliantly and was entertaining and showed how far she had come since the start of the competition. I was thrilled she and Kev won (and especially for Kevin, who had been in the final so many times without winning)
@@scdobserver835 Good point. He's kind of gone in under the radar, hasn't he? Although he didn't have as difficult a job as Kevin. The first year there was the romance with Georgia, Debbeh was an inspiration being twice his age but having great chemistry with him and being a great dancer, and this year he had Faye who also started off being a great dancer. Kevin has been able to shepherd less able people to the final.
Every year no matter who Kevin's paired off with he brings out the best in them ...hes consistent.....his choreography ...his ideas are first class a top top nice guy and he's a local lad

Congratulation Kevin and Stacey, finally Kevin is the bride lol. I loved Kevin's face and how Karen (his ex wife) came and gave him a big hug. All the finalist were brilliant they should be so bloody proud of themselves.
Ashley and Faye looked like they knew they weren't gonna win, Joe obviously thought he was in with a chance and Stacey's standing there like 'yeah what evs, I've had a lovely time.' So funny. The perfect winner.
Most of the pure long-term Strictly fans who weren't necessarily a fan of any particular celebrity before would've probably felt Stacey and Kevin were the right choice to win, all things considered. They want a journey and with those two there's a double journey (Stacey being the novice who learnt to dance while Kevin was always the bridesmaid but never the bride). The winners need the right balance of everything (dancing ability, personality, journey, inspirational story, popularity etc). That's why it's not only a popularity contest in the end because if you don't have one of those other things people might still not vote for you even if you are popular. Ashley and Faye undoubtedly have the ability but not the journey. Joe has popularity but there's no way he and Dianne can match the double journey of Stacey and Kevin because Dianne simply isn't in that same position as Kevin yet. Maybe in a few years time if she kept missing out on a win. And Joe cannot match Stacey's inspirational side from her work because he only makes UA-cam videos of himself goofing around which cannot be compared to her humanitarian work. On the other hand, Lauren had the inspirational side, popularity and the journey but lacked the dancing ability, which is why in the end, even despite her legions of fans, she fell at the last hurdle because maybe the British public would have also felt it wasn't quite right for her to be in the final. There's more to it than just being popular, having millions of fans or the best ability. The winner needs that special combination of everything ideally, and that's what Stacey and Kevin had, which is why the public could forgive her for not being the best because she was good enough. And what she lacked in dancing ability she made up for in other areas. And as I already mentioned, a single journey just can't compete with a double journey.
Well my winners would be Joe but I’ll tell u why I’m happy with this result I was rooting for Joe or Stacy and after the overall scores I was leaning more towards Joe but it made me realise the potential backlash he could have received if he won. If he won I think the UA-cam community would have been branded as unfair from their huge fan bases. I think this result opens the door with more you tubers to enter strictly in the future. Anyway I’m happy one of my 2 favourites won P.s I’m very happy for Kev Congrats Stacey and Kevin
It's not just that the UA-cam community would've been branded unfair. Because there were those few people on Instagram trying to actually rig the vote in his favour to fool the BBC into thinking overseas fans were in the UK, it would've always left a question mark over whether he really won fairly and would've tarnished his victory. If there had been none of that and people weren't trying to cheat the system, but he still won, then all's fair. The UA-cam community are legitimate voters, but people shouldn't try to do something sneaky like that because then it gives everyone else on social media or online a bad name and makes it about trying to get Joe to win at all costs, even if that costs him or his fans a sense of integrity. I don't think Joe would've wanted to win in that sort of way.

Sick of pasting this to so many negative comments. Firstly, I would like to say I’m disappointed in some of the disgusting things people of been saying to Stacey particularly on Instagram. Joe or Stacy would’ve have been the right people to win so be glad one of them did. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if you win because you still have the enjoyment of taking part. Regarding “rigging”: The majority of the general strictly audience (which is normally 10-12 million) had never heard of Joe before. Kevin is one of the most popular professionals which would have landed them many votes. People were more vocal on social media about Joe, however the general audience weren’t as vocal. I guarantee the usual audience were more inclined to vote for Stacy and Kevin so it wasn’t rigged.

It wouldn't be rigged or the judges would have overmarked Stacey and Kevin. Their showdance were a little messy. Now if we want to talk about rigging (I don't think the judges are trying to fix the show), judges wouldn't have scored Joe's showdance that much higher than Stacey's. Also, Stacey was featured as the second couple to dance. Now know that second to be featured in the final RARELY won the show in the past (unless there were only two finalists in the final, I don't recall with three or more couples in the finals that the second featured ever won)...
It really warmed my heart when Karen ran to hug Kev! He did it!! So proud of Stacy, she deserves it. They all deserve it, it's only a shame there can be one winner. Joe got the full strictly experience and a new best friend, he doesn't need a trophy for none of that to have mattered. I loved this series and this was the perfect end.
I have learned from watching this show since 2011 that the contest is not about who is most popular or who is the best dancer, but what it is really about is the person who improved the most and was/is very likable. Stacey and Kevin do deserve to win because they had a good mix of both and I know either they or Faye and Giovanni were going to win. All of them were amazing and I think they would all admit that the experience was what really counted.
Let’s be real here - it’s not a dance competition it’s all about popularity with the public. If it was about dance, then Danny Mac would have won, Aston would have gone through and Ashley or Faye would have won.
But all four you have mentioned have previous dance experience. Viewers like to watch a journey from zero to hero- Stacey fits this mound perfectly imo

Ashley has topped the leaderboard in a lot of weeks she was in the dance off. And many others before them. Also people on the bottom not in the dance off. So it doesn't really matter where you end up with the judges vote. If the public doesn't like you you are out. Simple as that.
The only dance experience Faye had was little moves to go along with lyrics in music videos. Ashley had training as a ballet dancer, that does not mean that she would be able to do any other type of dances, because there is a big difference between ballet and ballroom and latin.

This almost broke my sociopathic heart, I’m so proud of both of them, Stacey for coming SO far and Kevin for FINALLY winning! I’ve watched Strictly since Harry Judd won so I’ve watched Kevin’s journey from the start and he SO deserved to win! Stacey did incredible and I’m just so happy that Joe didn’t win. That’s purely down to the fact that, if he had, Strictly probably wouldn’t ask another internet star to do the show and I’m down for either Dan or Phil doing it someday. He is adorable though.

Stacey is a superstar in the making, but I hope she continues with her documentaries. They're very down to earth and genuine and don't have this feel about them of her being some kind of star at all but just a normal girl next door. I wouldn't want her to drift too far away from her roots and only present mainstream BBC shows. That said, I also want to see her do more lighthearted programmes too so that we get to see the fun side of her and laughing more, which she can't really do in those serious documentaries as that wouldn't be fitting.
Watching this makes me cry, ok I'm slightly hormonal but whatever, considering how many times Kevin has been in the final and not won and now he finally won is just amazing, he so deserves this I'm so happy still (9 months on) for him and Stacey!!!!
I feel terrible for Ashley. She was my favourite this year as she is truly an amazing person. Imagine being in the dance off 3 times just before the final, and also getting all the hate online. SHE DOES NOT DESERVE IT ONE BIT! but you can see her in the semi final looking truly upset and deflated at the end. Congratulation Kevin and Stacey, finally Kevin is the bride lol. I loved Kevin's face and how Karen (his ex wife) came and gave him a big hug. All the finalist were brilliant they should be so bloody proud of themselves.
You can see how much Kevin wanted this, I'm so so happy for him and Stacey. They deserved it.
Ashley and Faye looked like they knew they weren't gonna win, Joe obviously thought he was in with a chance and Stacey's standing there like 'yeah what evs, I've had a lovely time.' So funny. The perfect winner.
Most of the pure long-term Strictly fans who weren't necessarily a fan of any particular celebrity before would've probably felt Stacey and Kevin were the right choice to win, all things considered. They want a journey and with those two there's a double journey (Stacey being the novice who learnt to dance while Kevin was always the bridesmaid but never the bride). The winners need the right balance of everything (dancing ability, personality, journey, inspirational story, popularity etc). That's why it's not only a popularity contest in the end because if you don't have one of those other things people might still not vote for you even if you are popular.
Ashley and Faye undoubtedly have the ability but not the journey. Joe has popularity but there's no way he and Dianne can match the double journey of Stacey and Kevin because Dianne simply isn't in that same position as Kevin yet. Maybe in a few years time if she kept missing out on a win. And Joe cannot match Stacey's inspirational side from her work because he only makes UA-cam videos of himself goofing around which cannot be compared to her humanitarian work.
On the other hand, Lauren had the inspirational side, popularity and the journey but lacked the dancing ability, which is why in the end, even despite her legions of fans, she fell at the last hurdle because maybe the British public would have also felt it wasn't quite right for her to be in the final.
There's more to it than just being popular, having millions of fans or the best ability. The winner needs that special combination of everything ideally, and that's what Stacey and Kevin had, which is why the public could forgive her for not being the best because she was good enough. And what she lacked in dancing ability she made up for in other areas. And as I already mentioned, a single journey just can't compete with a double journey.
Well my winners would be Joe but I’ll tell u why I’m happy with this result
I was rooting for Joe or Stacy and after the overall scores I was leaning more towards Joe but it made me realise the potential backlash he could have received if he won.
If he won I think the UA-cam community would have been branded as unfair from their huge fan bases. I think this result opens the door with more you tubers to enter strictly in the future.
Anyway I’m happy one of my 2 favourites won

It's not just that the UA-cam community would've been branded unfair. Because there were those few people on Instagram trying to actually rig the vote in his favour to fool the BBC into thinking overseas fans were in the UK, it would've always left a question mark over whether he really won fairly and would've tarnished his victory. If there had been none of that and people weren't trying to cheat the system, but he still won, then all's fair.
The UA-cam community are legitimate voters, but people shouldn't try to do something sneaky like that because then it gives everyone else on social media or online a bad name and makes it about trying to get Joe to win at all costs, even if that costs him or his fans a sense of integrity. I don't think Joe would've wanted to win in that sort of way.

Sick of pasting this to so many negative comments. Firstly, I would like to say I’m disappointed in some of the disgusting things people of been saying to Stacey particularly on Instagram. Joe or Stacy would’ve have been the right people to win so be glad one of them did. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if you win because you still have the enjoyment of taking part.
Regarding “rigging”:
The majority of the general strictly audience (which is normally 10-12 million) had never heard of Joe before. Kevin is one of the most popular professionals which would have landed them many votes. People were more vocal on social media about Joe, however the general audience weren’t as vocal. I guarantee the usual audience were more inclined to vote for Stacy and Kevin so it wasn’t rigged.
Yes! Joe’s fans majorly underestimated the shows popularity! and Kevin’s! Joe was great but so was Stacey! Both deserved it, but there can only be one winner
It wouldn't be rigged or the judges would have overmarked Stacey and Kevin. Their showdance were a little messy. Now if we want to talk about rigging (I don't think the judges are trying to fix the show), judges wouldn't have scored Joe's showdance that much higher than Stacey's. Also, Stacey was featured as the second couple to dance. Now know that second to be featured in the final RARELY won the show in the past (unless there were only two finalists in the final, I don't recall with three or more couples in the finals that the second featured ever won)...

Joe got the full strictly experience and a new best friend, he doesn't need a trophy for none of that to have mattered. I loved this series and this was the perfect end.
I have learned from watching this show since 2011 that the contest is not about who is most popular or who is the best dancer, but what it is really about is the person who improved the most and was/is very likable. Stacey and Kevin do deserve to win because they had a good mix of both and I know either they or Faye and Giovanni were going to win. All of them were amazing and I think they would all admit that the experience was what really counted.

Ashley has topped the leaderboard in a lot of weeks she was in the dance off. And many others before them. Also people on the bottom not in the dance off. So it doesn't really matter where you end up with the judges vote. If the public doesn't like you you are out. Simple as that.
The only dance experience Faye had was little moves to go along with lyrics in music videos. Ashley had training as a ballet dancer, that does not mean that she would be able to do any other type of dances, because there is a big difference between ballet and ballroom and latin.

This almost broke my sociopathic heart, I’m so proud of both of them, Stacey for coming SO far and Kevin for FINALLY winning! I’ve watched Strictly since Harry Judd won so I’ve watched Kevin’s journey from the start and he SO deserved to win! Stacey did incredible and I’m just so happy that Joe didn’t win. That’s purely down to the fact that, if he had, Strictly probably wouldn’t ask another internet star to do the show and I’m down for either Dan or Phil doing it someday. He is adorable though.

Stacey deserved to win she had no dance experience and got better every week I thought that was what Strictly was all about. They were a pleasure to watch. Stacey is a superstar in the making, but I hope she continues with her documentaries. They're very down to earth and genuine and don't have this feel about them of her being some kind of star at all but just a normal girl next door. I wouldn't want her to drift too far away from her roots and only present mainstream BBC shows. That said, I also want to see her do more lighthearted programmes too so that we get to see the fun side of her and laughing more, which she can't really do in those serious documentaries as that wouldn't be fitting.
Watching this makes me cry, ok I'm slightly hormonal but whatever, considering how many times Kevin has been in the final and not won and now he finally won is just amazing, he so deserves this I'm so happy still (9 months on) for him and Stacey!!!!

I feel terrible for Ashley. She was my favourite this year as she is truly an amazing person. Imagine being in the dance off 3 times just before the final, and also getting all the hate online. SHE DOES NOT DESERVE IT ONE BIT! but you can see her in the semi final looking truly upset and deflated at the end. She’s is literally so sweet and for the people that said “UGH WE ALL KNOW WHOS GONNA WI, IS THERE A POINT IN WATCHING!” so there you go she didn’t win, but I am truly so happy for Stacey she was also my fave xx

When the song came to an end, Stacey was smiling. Kevin, his emotions taking over, cried on Claudia's shoulder.
"Thankyou so much," sobbed the Strictly Star. "I don't know what else to say." His wife Karen got in on the act with a sprig of mistletoe. Kevin let go of Claudia and watched the girl approach.
"Where's my kiss, lover boy?" she teased. Kevin kissed her on the lips. Ann Widdecombe had ditched poor Anton's Christmas Special Wishes. Erin Boag came to his rescue.
Erin held up a sprig of mistletoe herself, puckering up her lips. Shy-shy Anton kissed her there, smiling sheepishly.
"What did I do to deserve this?" asked Anton.
"Dancing beautifully," answered Erin. A Merry Christmas for all to enjoy.
