Probably the funniest vanguard thumbnail we’ve gotten
Lol
You sync with your deck
Still not as funny as the consecutive electrocution thumbnails from V Series Season 1.
True but oof he’s working out XD
But what about the shot of masanori’s beautiful bald head
I’ve not seen anyone mention it but i love the subtle difference between how Raika & Michiru rest their cards vs everyone else. Thought there was some connection and this ep confirmed it
I knew Raika would win but the way it happened was pretty well written. I hope more fights are like this from now on.
Man, AWESOME episode. From start to finish was on the edge of my seat. Hopefully they'll do more with Taizo cuz dude's a vibe. Also love at the end how confident Yuyu was he's like "you wanna fight, bring it on bro".
All the new characters this season have been legit. Urara, Raika, Taizo, Michiru. I can't wait to see more of any of them-- and that Yuyu vs Taizo match is gonna be insane when it happens x3 ~Ry
This episode was so intense. Raika is so stubborn about not having allies and tazio wanted to show him otherwise but well it didnt happen sadly. Tazio and Yuyu has similiar way of thinking so ım looking forward to their fight. Finally qualifying round is finishing. Also its first time seeing Urara this hostility towards someone, she really isnt like sound of Raika's fights.
I know and this my be a for shadowing for future events
Speaking of Urara, I want to see more character growth and development towards her but I wonder why she’s showing hostility in general because I highly assume there’s a certain reasoning behind it!!! 🥶😮
Maybe 🤔 it’s involved raika cardfight style because he always want to win 🥇 so bad that’s my theory
@@ivanjoseph7222 Which, imo, is not wrong. He is a lone wolf and only trusts his own strength.
Raika is like rejecting very idea of having friends/allies and getting stronger together while having fun. Everything turns around who loses and wins, power is absolute, once a loser always a loser and so on, probably thats what he thinks things as.
Urara hears music/melody depends on fights so when you think about her fights which she had fun Raika's must sound unpleasant like idk maybe like scratching the board? 🤔
something I've noticed. Revoldress is the opposite of Overdress. Not just by the name Revo-L, but the fact that overdress focuses on powering up the rearguard, while Revoldress focuses on powering up the vanguard.
Revolt or Over
It's like Jackknife Dragon and Gargantua Dragon from buddyfight.
@@scarlightemperor3410 I always thought it was short for Revolt or Revolution but never caught on about it being Over backwards. That's a really cool addition to the parallel between them. I wonder where the 'L' came from though lol
@@michaeltrevino8234 I didn't even see the parallel.
I just assumed it was revolt or revolution, like you said.
The L might be when he took an arrow to the pride when Bastion was being himself.
@@scarlightemperor3410 btw what the hell happened between Youth and Bastion?
@@_____Shadow_____ so, from pieces I've seen.
Youth was a young knight who was aspiring to follow his father's footsteps as a legendary knight.
However, he soon learned that the world is a bit more crueland complex, (assuming it's related to his eye)
He became colder and continued to fight but had wavering ideals with how keter constantly disregarded the ground.
He then chose to don his black armor and new armaments (revoldress)
And led a organization known as skyfall to bring down the aristocracy and current foundation of keter.
That's my theory
Man 15:22 I can really see the CLAMP design shine through with that animation. Raika going full Lelouch while somewhat looking like a Shaoran/Suzaku mix
I knew that reminded me of something
I think he looks like Eriol from Cardcaptor Sakura.
Yu-yu is the one, in terms of appearance, who looks like Lelouch. While Raika bears a resemblance to Eriol. It's basically Lelouch vs Eriol.
it also just looks like a gurren lagann scene tbh the way his coat flaps in the wind
imagine someone taking off their glasses when during their grade 3 in real life@@O.H306
This was an amazing fight between a CEO (Taizo) and Student Council President (Raika). I honestly didn’t know who was going to win at the end to be honest.
Yeah, Taizo and his deck was very powerfull
It was very obvious ngl
So who won
Really? These shows tend to be predictable. Raika was the edgy one with a stick up his butt and tonnes of unresolved drama, while Taizo barely got anything before or during the episode he fights him in. Also, Raika beat Yuyu, the protag, meaning the inevitable rematch is a given.
Whoever goes first usually loses as well
One of the few aesthetics lacking from standard is a badass colorful mecha. However, the whole standing on Flying Fortress thing has definitely sold this deck for me.
Urara really is having a hostility towards Raika and I can’t blame her after a intense battle like this because I legitimately had zero idea who would come out on top and he’s definitely a very terrifying cardfighter for sure in which the final battle shall be very interesting and I will give Taizo major credibility for putting quite a fight despite the loss and such a very cool character; not to mention his overall design is quite awesome and his main unit is extremely badass, makes me hyped for what’s coming in the finale because I genuinely can’t wait!!! 😇😊
Me too
I think its more like Urara is disturbed by Raika because their view of the game is so different from one another.
For Urara, Vanguard is a fun escape and she associates happy memories with friends with the game. Whereas for Raika, it is a tool for success, and its hard to tell if he has any love for the game. Whats more, his mentality ends up poisoning the game for everyone around him.
Its not surprising that Urara wants to steer clear of the guy.
@@randomanimefan1000 Raika is that guy in my locals raging for losing to an anti meta deck lmao. His attitude towards winning reflects how Keter is right now.
@@randomanimefan1000 That's why I want to see them play against each other in the finals, it should be interesting to see what comes out of it.
the reason why Urara can hear the sound coming from Raika because there is something about his pass and I think that Michiru always win from vanguard and Raika always losses multiple time against Michiru which makes that Raika's Pride will be taken over the game and he is obsessed with power and I think that's why he didn't play for fun
That thumbnail will mark the biggest impact that dude made in the whole tournament.
Best fight choreography in years.
Change my mind
20:33 Son if you liked the Red version, Blue is just as good!
Taizo was surely cool with his muscled cards and his mobile fortress, and all his money but looks loke Raika is gonna his keep edgelord trone until Yu-Yu´s revenge.
Now that is what you called a fight. That was amazing
Probably my favorite ep so far. It showed an older player that loves vanguard an a different light.
Great fight and Taizo’s cards look great! It makes me want to start a collection like I did when I was small, I know I’d never actually play but it’s be fun to collect something again
Bro. Taizo is the definition of fighters who collect frame rares.
@ 7:37 so he's actually a fan of michiru since he was a kid, the picture shows it all
A good episode showing more into why Raika admires Michiru (as much as you can get from a photo of a young raika), this fight i really didn't now who would come out on top it could be a loss for raika to give a reason for his drive to push further and to show just how strong Taizo is. but this episode did well showing how when the opportunity presents itself you should take it be it good or bad. overall well done bushiroad :D
I'm rooting for Taizo to win this once. If Raika actually wins this, this tournament is going to pretty crappy in terms of competition. The other 5 lined up in the OP outside Michiru, Urara, and Raika are basically fodder at this point so if Taizo loses as well then that means outside the main 3 that had their trial deck released, nobody out of them would be worth watching since we know they're not going to be a challenge.
Plus I want Raika to be taken down a peg. He thinks his only competition is Michiru. Him losing will definitely open room for some development.
Also Taizo's design is the best out of the new character batch imo. His personality is great from what we've seen so far and his main unit is just badass all around. It would be a waste not to do something with him.
Final battle Raika will lose. Its the most likely outcome. This fight with Taizo will open Raika's eyes and awaken his old self
It would be a nice fresh of air if taizo win against raika as it would actually establish the character unlike the other four which were unfortunately fodder for the main character to beat
Finally someone says it lol. 100% Agreee that Taizo should have won this fight and knocked Raika down a peg. Raika has barely any character outside "Grr im edgy and dont want friends" him losing would have opened a lot more development options for him. But as usual, cant have the main antagonist lose to anyone but the protagonist
No, because Yuyu already fought Raika, that would absolutely zero sense for Taizo to win... now both of them are fighting for who qualifies, instead of one already being qualified...
@@Blizz3112 In terms of competition and narrative, it would make total sense if Taizo won here. That means Yu-yu would get a chance to beat him in day 3 so that Block A would have 3-way tie for the finales which would be a nice and interesting twist instead of it being the most obvious outcome Raika vs. Yu-yu in the finale where we know 100% Yu-yu is going to win.
That RevolDress track is FIRE!!! I want to listen to the full song!!! I can't make out if the lyrics are in English or Japanese though. Anybody out there able to make out what is being said? An edgy track for an edgy fallen dark knight! I was always a fan of the original Shadow Paladin because of the whole Dark Knight theme, but this is taking it to the next level! I can't wait for YouthBerk cards to come to the US!!!
Trial Deck for Youthberk comes out Oct 7th, 2022
My perception is that this episode will have a important storyline for Taizo
Ah..This is what i want from Vanguard, The sensation of Guessing who will win and the Tremble when watching the fight
Havent feel this since Chrono Vs Kanzaki fight
(Iam sorry for the bad grammar btw)
Makes one wonder what happened to Amaterasu's corporation if Brant Gate are the ones with one instead of Keter Sanctuary.
According to the lore, the united sanctuary fall a part and became a smaller nation name keter sanctuary now so i think the amaterasu's corporation is gone. Blitz corporation is created when star gate became brandt gate
Of course, you need muscles if you want to play a children's card game lmao. But seriously, this thumbnail is just hilarious. 😂
I hope these characters appear after the tournament.
not children it's intense
Right lol 😂
i noticed when Raika rode into Gust the theme that played was slightly different than when he rode into Zest against yuyu
Well, new form of Youth. I guess Zest represents his Rage.
Gust represents his coldness?
This is your sign to do push up now.
Do it to get your body goals. 💪
There is also a plot between the organiser of the Deluxe tournament + Masanori and an unknown lady to target Urara and the others
Couldn't agree more.
Also get an intern agent in the tournament... Raika
Zakusa be like: SO YOU HAVE CHOSEN DEATH

this is the first time they actually had the "do what u can" interaction

🙏
Dude raikas ost is crazy good
I swear, whoever goes first has a 95% chance of losing just because how the fight is choreographed each ep. 1st grade 3 ride then counter with anither grade 3 ride then some monologues then grade 3 ride again then the opponent has the last laugh with its grade 3 ride again
*Can you feel my heart intensifies*
Yes, I can feel it!
Come on youth don't be shy, unleash your inner phantom blaster dragon
I know right!? That would be cool!
But youth is a team player. Doesn't like people dying on him. So... unlikely he'll sack his own team.
This fight is so intense!
5:38 This guy has the Kabuki YOOO sound sleeves!
16:48 Just who the hell I think I am!?
Eugene Player = Chad
Taizo got a nice collection
I love the animation on cray
Hm, Urara is reacting to Raika's fights with clear hostility. Still, can't wait to see Yu-yu fight Taizo.
One shouldn't step up with the intent to lose, but even then there's also more to life than winning...
Awesome fight Youth’s Revoldress is amazing.
If they have an episode where it's gonna have a battle between sakuza and raika I would totally be flipped.
It's unfortunate that Raika had to win for story progression. Taizo is a far more likeable (and interesting) character. Although it was predictable, it's nice to see some Gurren Lagann inspiration in Vanguard!
Well that was unexpected, so Raika wins which means it goes down to Yuyu vs Taizo for block A, though I am a bit disappointed that Raika won, I really enjoyed the cardfight throughout, it was really awesome, and a bit of foreshadowing to Raika's past, as we see him with Michiru in a picture, Taizo is a great guy and a very strong cardfighter though I don't know if he's gonna have one of those twist villains plot.
Also the way Urara looks at Raika gives me a feeling that she might fight him in the tournament, either that or Yuyu is her opponent.
If everything goes smoothly without any shenanigans in the tournament this will be the top 16;
Group A winners (Raika&Yuyu) vs Group B winners (Urara&Mirei)
Groups C winners (Tohya&Mondo) vs Group D winners (Michiru&Megumi)
All I know is whoever fights Raika, he would give them a BRUTAL beating and teach a thing or two about how to act when you lose. In short, don't watch if you're a Urara fan.
Also, It might be a rare thing in tournament arcs but hopefully they'll be a loser's bracket. Not only we'll get more screentime for other fighters, but Jinki will also enjoy more fights as proven from last week's episode.
It's pity that Taizo lost. I hoped that Raika's ego would get a nice hit.
So if anyones curious or doesnt know yet, Youthberks Metal theme:
Breaking The Rock by Gyroaxia
OK I'll be honest this episode was great. At first I thought Taizo would be just another wasted character when they introduced a lot of Characters during the announcement on will dress. But after this episode I like Taizo and hope we see more of his character later down the line. As for Taizo's fight against Raika I was at the edge of my seat, to be honest I rooted for Raika eventhough I hate the guy, especially on how he endured Taizo's attacks eventhough his Vanguard's power is really low, also Taizo's deck fits him perfectly since he runs a company of sorts. If there is any problems with this episode at all then its at the start of it, as much as I enjoy seeing Taizo having a binder with really rare cards and team blackout gushing about it, seeing Urara's reactions on the other cardfighters seriously preparing and not understanding the situation is a bit frustrating and her answer on the situation made me face palm. It feels like the more I see her the more I feel there's no attachment to her character, I'm hoping that they give Urara proper development. Overall it's a great episode and I am excited for the next one.
Also I apologize for the Eugene players/fans who didn't see thier favorite archetype in action.
I agreed taizo give me the vibe of mamoru from cardfight vanguard g
As much as I like Taizo more than Raika, yes, the match could go either way and Raika deserves his win. He is calculating, and believes in his ratio.
True
Know i noticed where i have Seen Revoldress before i gives the vanguard 15k Power and goes Back to normal after the Turn ends IT IS Like stride that Must BE the reason i Love it
Eh, Revoldress is more like a cheap imitation of RFD skill. Raging from V would have destroyed Youthberk, considering with right amount of dmgs and CB it can swing 3 times in your face. They also downplayed the top deck check to 3 or else if Rinnal checked 5 than it will be a serious overkill
oh god, how can one person (Raika) destroy the peace of an entire cast??
because of Raika's pride is taken over the game and obsessed with more power
Because everyone else isn't taking it as seriously as he is
Hype for this one. Not only we'll get CEO Blitz debut but hopefully more of Raika's backstory on why he's acting the way he is.
Also don't know why mr. muscle man is on the thumbnail considering he's 0-2 in the tournament lol no offense Eugene players.
Dude is promoting not only to raise your deck, but also your guns.
Wouldn’t 2-0 imply he’s won 2 matches
@@oshysplashers1479 sorry sorry just realized I put it in the wrong way lol
@@jremydadude6238 It happens lol. Shame he is actually 0-2 tho 💀
@@oshysplashers1479 yea rip Eugene players. Although I have lil theory about that tho. Remember at the end of last episode where Jinki wants "more fights", take this with a grain of salt but we might get a loser's bracket. Not only Jinki will get more fights, but also more screentime for characters that unfortunately didn't get featured.
Lmao, Raika is unstoppable, Yu-Yu has a greatest rivals in this season.

Buena partida me cayo bien Taizo espero ver mas partidas asi de el :D
Taizo messed up the moment he decided to take Zest attack. He totally could guard that and go on his turn at 3 dmg. So next turn he took both VGs attack and will still survive at 5. And on next turn his victory will be basically confirmed. Raika won't be able to survive his attack with only Heal trigger in hand.
There's still Friede with 20k swinging, he probably thought its better to guard Zest since he already has enough to stop Zest's 38k. He didn't expect the Gust at all.
@@tweetugwe1270 wth are you talking about? On Zest turn, he ALREADY took on Vriede attack. The only one that could attacked was zest at 33k and he could totally guard that, since he demonstrated that on Raika's next turn. And that was considered using Enucliate skill
@@kodokutamashi1569 19:50, he called Vriede and then proceed to start attacking with his Vanguard first.
He has five cards in his hand to guard and Raika only has Zest in his hand when the battle phase begin. With a Rear swinging for 20k and a second Vanguard attack for 38k and 2 Crit, letting Youthberk hit and hoping Raika not hit any trigger is the better call. Letting it hit also let him to have a chance for a defensive trigger.
What he didn't expect is Raika pulling Gust letting him to have another chance for another drive check and so he lost because of that.
@@kodokutamashi1569 21:15. Also as you can see here, Vriede is still in standing position and nowhere does it show Raika attacked with it already.
Edit: I jast realized you were talking about Raika's third turn not the last turn, sorry about that.
@@tweetugwe1270 Yeah, I specifically mentioned Zest turn. On that turn Taizo could go on with 3 dmgs. But he let Zest attack passed despite having enough guardians. Basically a move to make him lose to Raika for plot sake.
