It's more like rice paper spring roll
a spring roll is a type of a dumpling. Rice pepper spring roll is typical not fried also.
Spring rolls are not usually fried
@@entirelybonkers8832 they are in Australia
@@entirelybonkers8832in vietnam we do fry them
@@entirelybonkers8832 southeast asian here. we actually fry it more often than not
This is an actual dish in Vietnam. It has a variety of different versions, the common one being "nem". The method is the same, but different type of rice paper and fillings. It's a creative dish, so people can add and not add things that they prefer, as long as it works well ofcourse.
I thought it was common knowledge. 😅😂
Please, don't kill me...
IN France we also call them NEMS

I did this exact recipe except I added my favorite ramen seasoning packet and it tastes SO GOOD, 100% recommend
It would be nice if she typed the recipe ❤I like your idea of ramen seasoning packet
nice
Way too much sodium.
@@brainfluidZ tru lol ramen seasoning is exactly pack of sodium 🤢
Full of MSG.
Chemical powder…
Adding ramen seasoning in recipe is way too much 😅
@@MiruniMiruni You don't have to eat it though...?? Obviously it wasn't too salty for them and one little bag in an entire pan of veggies doesn't sound terrible salty anyway.
I feel like the distinction between spring roll and dumpling is as distinct as how bread makes a grilled cheese but a tortilla makes a quesadilla. They're functionally the same, but if we don't make the distinction then hot dogs and quesadillas can all be sandwiches too, which we know they're not really.
Thank you for being the most sensible person in this comment section
Basically it's fry spring roll, in Vietnam we have this one dish call "Chả ram" in my region, most of the time we just deep fry it~
It goes so well with spicy fish sauce~
spicy fish sauce is the besttt
I wish people would eat with more spicy fish sauce lol
fantastic. I cant eat gluten so if I ever get a chance to find this at a store or go there I have to get some. sounds delicious
Never heard of spicy fish sauce. I hope I can find that. Thanks for sharing❤
@@EshhhaBenjamite I don't think there is a bottle for it specifically? :O but if you can find it, go ahead! It's actually an easy recipe if there's no sauce sold in your market. Usually it isn't. Search "spicy fish sauce recipe" and there should be one made easy!
All you need is:
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1.5 cup Water
- 1/8 - 1/4 cup Vietnamese Fish Sauce
- 1 heaping tbs chili paste/sambal (I get the rooster brand with the green lid. Not Sriracha. Chili Paste.)
Mix all that together and it works as a great sauce. :D
That is known as Vietnamese Vegan Spring Rolls.
lmao to "dumplings". This is a Vietnamese fried spring roll dipped in hoisin sauce and their signature sauce (I forgot the name).
I swear. 😂
Its called "nem"
Fish sauce
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO PUT THE RECIPE IN THE DESCRIPTION. Goodbye
I tried this! Make sure you have a non-stick pan or a lot of oil
Duhhhhhhh.

Listen here, the very fact you took the time in your day to write something so disgusting just shows me that you are the actual loser behind the screen. You are obviously very arrogant and probably have zero self awareness and therefore hated by others. Go fuck yourself and have a nice day :)

Making this next time! I have rice papers and love making Vietnamese fresh rolls
Great Recipe, i followed your instructions but sadly mine got stuck on the pan. 😕 It was difficult to flip them, even though I added wee bit of oil on my non stick.
I read in another comment that coating it in a bit of cornstarch helps. Hugs💕✨
make the pan hot first b4 putting it
you need plenty of oil for frying those, it absorbs the oil like crazy. Deep fry will be the best
What dipping sauce?
Where is the recipe located?
I’ve made these a few times. I don’t know why my rice paper will NOT get brown even after a more than reasonable amount of time so I just air fry them now. I prefer that way because it’s less oil. It’s a good dish though, I would recommend that anyone give them a try.
Se puede hacer en freidora de aire? No sé endurecen?
Do they come out good in the air fryer?
yes theyre rlly crunchy and yummy!@@Romyshaww
Mix sugar in the water. It will caramelize when you fry.
Great tip! I'll hafta try this. I love my air fryer.
I don't really think this us a dumpling 🥟 but it looks really delicious 😍
This is definitely not a dumpling. 😅😂
Might just try this 👍 I hate rolling out dumpling skins so rice paper might be a great alternative! Maybe we can steam these like regular dumplings
I was just thinking that about the rice paper. Along with a lot of other ways to use it.
Not sure 🤔 about steaming part. I mean, rice paper is more likely to be either chewy or too soft, steaming might not keep them in shape i assume
Tried this and it was delicious, thank you.. The only thing, my rice roll never got brown when fried like yours. They stayed white but got crispy.
Try a TINY bit of soy sauce in oil to help it caramelize

It would be technically closer to a spring roll.
Omg, who cares 🤦🏽♀️ why do y’all always gotta correct somebody? IT’S FOOD😂
@@Imnothere2861 bc a dumpling is not a spring roll. call a hotdog a hamburger and you’ll get weird looks.
Definitely going to try this tomorrow! I have some rice paper that’s been sitting in the pantry for half a year that I’ve never used 😂 Although I only have tofu, lettuce and cucumbers lol I’m going to add edamame 🤷🏻♀️ lol. I do have all the seasonings so it’s all good
It tastes amazing
Oh damn, now that I think about it, me too ! 😳
It's been at least 4 years now but I bet it's still perfectly eatable. 😅🤣
Best most delicious insanely good egg roll I have ever eaten… you have to try these my husband and I made them I almost cried. I’m gluten intolerance so this was a gift
We can this lumpia in the Philippines but we use egg-flour wrapper and not rice paper. They have almost the same kind of consistency and the filling is similar.
Yum! Glad you’re obsessed with it this recipe.

Guys if ur rice paper is sticking to the pan you should put the dumpling in the fridge ti fry out a bit
Thanks for the tip! 😊
Thank you!
Ooo good call ty
i absolutely LOVED making these i’m so grateful you made this !! the only issue is i rarely have the patience to make them because when i fry them, they take so long and i can’t put the heat up because i don’t want them to burn
Do you dip the rice paper in cold or warm water??
@@chrissipieters581 cold, should i do it in warm water ??
@@clouds321no, normal cold water only
Tried doing them like pot stickers, with both oil and water in the pan?
Omg I have all the ingredients, I'm making these tonight!
This is perfect! I am celiac and I miss dumplings
This is not a dumpling though.
I don't know who popularized the nonsense of ASMR, where I have to constantly hear crunching and slurping before every recipe.
From everyone in the misophonia community: *ear-splitting gag noise*
welp, she's done thi twice or re-upload this. Repeating call fried spring rolls dumplings. Oh dear how annoying. can you at least please call it dumplings fried spring rolls fusion?

what a fantastic idea. Thanks.
Love the spring roll with rice paper! I'm making tonight!
I suck at making this. They fall apart on me when trying to turn over.
You know, you can just use you hands ? 😅
It’s a spring roll! You’re not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?
So can u actually eat the rice paper without frying
For a healther option
Like just dip in warm water or steam them?
I think it can make in any wrapper and its TOO GOOD LOTS OF VEGIES
This will be my lunch today!
Thanks for the idea!!
Do you actually eat like that? Bite then slurp?
Yummy yummy 😋 I will definitely try this! Thank you
Reacting before the food touches ur tongue...great.
i just dont want to double the paper for double the carbs
You won’t need to use extra sheets if you go lumpia style.
Tried this last weekend. Was really good! 😊
This is the 3rd video today with the exact same recipe wth
What’s the dipping sauce? Someone please lmk
this would put all Chinese food out of business!
Do not be lazy and ditch the double wrap. I tried that but was lazy, they exploded immediately.
I like crispy food
Those look good! I'm going to try it soon!
Wow that looks so delicious!! ❤ can't wait to try, thank you 🙏🌹
That's spring roll 🤦♀️
I have to try them 🤤🤤🤤
Mostly SEA people call this fry spring rolls
I tried to do it and my kitchen is a huge mess😅
Is it necessary to double wrap?
Probably not much flavour in the ingredients, especially with it being vegan. So doubled the rice paper as fried stuff tastes gooooood
oh wow.. the picture is so crystal clear.. do you use phone to record this? or a camera?
Warm or cold water?
Aha! So you double the wrapper
Did she just call spring onion "chilli"......
Baby cheese grater
Look at that little grater so cute❣️👌👍✌️
Why does everyone on UA-cam make delicious healthy food into an oily mess

How did the air fryer go?
Mine always end up melting when I fry them for some reason :(
Yes yes making this TODAY
It was delicious
Hey I got inspired with your creation and made my own version with similar ingredients from you and my family ❤ I wrapped it differently and deep fried it 😋
is it healthy if eaten on a regular basis or should we keep it once in a week?
Is that fried tofu?

you should consider cooking the Filipino style Lumpia if you like this kind of dish!
Mouth watering🤤
These are not “dumplings” if you wanna appreciate NOT appropriate learn a few things about the cultures you’re trying to profit from.
would this work with brown rice paper?
In Indonesia we call gehu, its sooo addicted 🤤
I always wanna make these recipes but I don’t really like cooking meat and I’m so glad I have all the ingredients for once !!
Why did mine get soggy so quickly?? I couldn’t pick them up because they fell apart. Did I fill them too much?? I just want them so badly 😂
Mine did too.
Maybe your rice paper is too wet? One piece is meant to be dipped in water for 1 second on one side only, like how she did in the vid.
Or your fillings might be too wet.
She doubled wrapped them. 😉
I had the same experience. I was told that the rice paper we get in the west is thicker. And someone else suggested dipping the rice paper in corn starch. Will try it.
This is cultural appropriation of Vietnamese egg rolls.
I don’t care what the name is, I’m going to have to make this for myself because it looks so delicious ❤😅
Paper shit or paper sheet, lol I just love the Aussie accent. Just a joke no hard feelings
Are those sticky ? Or I made some mistake while cooking
Sis😍😍 omg this make me want to try so bad
And make them.... so easy and delicious!! You can change the fillings to your taste, of course. Prawn, smoked or fresh salmon ( marinated first overnight and than grilled... veggies of your choice... chicken 🐓 or if you need to ' clean' the fridge, here you go!
2 layers of wrap are too much, and the amount of water to prep the wrap was also too much, you just need to apply a little water to one side and let it rest for a few seconds, after that it would be soft enough to work with, also it wouldn't fall apart due to getting soaked in water earlier
Looks good. I would try to make it
