Actually I see this as her mothers way of trying to help her, if you think about it, once people learn to drive they then use there car to take them everywhere, even just to the corner shop, they typically stop using there legs to take them anywhere, stop exercising......so really seems this is Eugenias moms way of trying to help her at least stop exercising so much.

I don't think she does. I seriously think this is a typical ed in the family situation where the family has already long ago exhausted all options to try to help her & there is nothing they can do but watch her fade away. There is nothing they can legally do to help her if she isn't willing to accept the help. I haven't seen any evidence of abuse, yes they have made some bad choices but i think that's got a lot to do with the ed manipulating the immediate family.

That dinging wasn't for the vehicle raising up, it was because mom wasn't wearing her seatbelt. Part of driving is knowing your vehicle and paying attention to warning signs. Once you heard the dinging multiple times, you should have scanned the dashboard to see if any warning lights/alerts on. You would have seen the seatbelt notice. Not criticizing, just trying to help you become a safe driver, and learn things the correct way. Just keep going out with mom as often as you can, eventually driving will seem routine.

The frequency she checks the camera gives me so much anxiety. You're afraid of killing someone, but you're making it easier to do so by staring at that camera. Drop the phone, forget it exists. Nobody can drive properly while looking at their phone. Even if you've been doing it for 10+ years, it only takes an instant of not paying attention for shit to get devastating.
If you need your eyes on your phone other than a quick GPS glance, pull over.

She is always so calm and sweet on the outside but i feel like she internalizes tons of anxiety and depression which contributes to her eating disorder. She will naturally become more confident. My mom taught me to drive but she never did that freak out thing. She actually always complimented me on my driving. I passed my driving test the first time I took it and in my many years of driving since then I've never caused an accident and I've never gotten a ticket. Maybe I'm just naturally good at driving, or maybe my mom instilled confidence in me because she always said I was such a good driver. I've always played a lot of games that require hand/eye coordination, so maybe that helps too. Eugenia's mom should be a little quieter and ease up on the conversations while eugenia is driving. Eugenia, I’m very happy that you’re taking a step toward independence & overcoming fear of driving. However, due to your current health situation it’s not a good idea to be on the road. Usually you have to list any and all medical conditions that would impair your driving, which this would qualify as, in order to obtain your license to operate a vehicle (which is considered a weapon) safely. I’d definitely wait until you’re in a better place/ space nutrition wise to do any driving alone. I lost my very dear friend who also suffered from anorexia in a car accident she caused. While she was driving she had a heart attack due to the lack of nutrition. She then lost control of her vehicle & ran full speed into another car & caused them both to impact into a tree. She not only put her own life in danger & passed away but caused others to lose their lives as well. Please take this into consideration & not as hate. This is the reality of what can happen even if it’s an accident & you have nothing but the best of intentions.

I actually do this weird voice too. I don't mean to and try very hard not to.... it comes out when I'm feeling insecure or dissosciating. When I'm feeling confident I loose it completely and my voice deepens. I think it could be half trauma response and half masking (I am Autistic and am most often masking my Autistic traits so that I'm not bullied). For me this "baby voice" can come out when I'm feeling inauthentic. Eugenia may experience the same. I find it annoying and am trying to break this pattern. I think if Eugenia makes a recovery she will learn to drop it or atleast do it less. You grow out of it and I find I'm doing it less and less the more that I work on my self esteem. Not having confidence really presents itself in a myriad of ways within the body and I do think that unfortunately this silly baby voice is veryyyy common among trauma victims. But it's just about reframing that trauma and learning to become a survivor and not a victim. I can't speak for Eugenia but in my own experience this is why I do it. I try not to judge myself for it and little by little work on changing it. I hope the same for Eugenia as well. She deserves to be her full self.... unfortunately her eating disorder has hijacked that possibility. I hope that she recovers

I just got my license and I’m 26. I didn’t drive until 26. I still have fears on the road and haven’t completely gotten it down but I haven’t gotten into an accident and that keeps me hopeful. Just do your best and stay alert on the road. Filming and driving is probably a bad idea especially not being experienced. Don’t give up there’s a lot of people that are afraid of driving but it’s very important to learn. It’s the first step of independence. Wish you well girl

Driving absolutely terrified me and I totally understand how scary it can be. The one piece of advice I can give you is driving only gets easier! As scary as it is at first, you will only get better the more you do it. Eventually, you won't even be stressed or anxious when you go to drive. Good for you for going and taking the test even though you weren't quite ready yet. Keep it up!

As an uber driver, doordasher, and instacart shopper.. yes people will and have gotten into accidents doing the slightest thing. I got into an accident not even driving. At a red light. But we constantly look at our phones on the dashboard... gps... for instance.. but yeah she's learning, and you learn from your mistakes. And you will make a mistake, we all have (its why being aware is so important for when someone else on the road makes a mistake)
She's learning yall.. and just seems like everyone is nitpicking which isn't gonna help her at all because well..would you listen to someone nitpicking? "Quit looking at your phone" "know your dashboard" "move your hair" .. she's learning.. she's nervous.. her moms clearly nervous.. hell being nervous is a recipe for a crash. Literally anything can be a recipe for a crash. Sneezing could cause a crash...

Should you be eligible to drive when you are this critically ill? You can pass out or become severely dizzy or just experience organ failure anytime and endanger others on the road or pedestrians. I actually think this is super stupid and irresponsible.

I can't believe your mom didn't have enough sense to wear her seat belt. That's rule #1 before you do anything else in the car. It sets a good example if you're trying to be a teacher to a new driver. For someone who seems very panicked over their daughter's driving, wouldn't they worry about their safety and buckle up in case they crash into something? God forbid...

Okay when you're learning how to drive the last thing you want is any distractions meaning the camera. I understand you want to film the experience but as someone who's learning that isn't safe. I learned how to drive about 2 years ago and can tell you this from experience. No hate.

Yup i agree. My ex taught me to drive, and once he started having me drive on the actual road with other people i was like ooh im a driver now & put the radio on to have some tunes to drive to, and he cut it right off & said "nope, youre not ready for that yet". Looking back i agree-new drivers need NO distractions.
