What a special treat to see Betty and Johnny together again. I still think that their water sketch was their best, even though I enjoyed this appearance.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the water sketch. I remember Tarzan and Jane, this one of course. But not the water sketch. I’ll have to look it up. Thanks!

Ohhhhhhh settle down ! There's always one, that has to bring this up ! Back at that time,they were treated better (in America) than anywhere else in the world. They were well taken care of.

Yes she really did love animals. Elephants are smart!! I'm sure this elephant was treated better by Betty than most elephants that are trained to do tricks though.

Did you see her on the show when Dom DeLuise was sitting next to her? She was asking Johnny questions from cards that she had with her. And she had Dom screaming with laughter. I miss them all.

Believe it or not, my first memory of Betty White was in “the golden girls”. I think I was only about 10 years old when the show started. She really was something special! I miss them all.

Me too! Maybe odd for a 10-year-old boy to be watching the Golden girls but then again I was only 10. And I enjoyed her acting, she cracked me up.

I loved Betty White she was a good actress I love her in hot in Cleveland my favorite was golden girls I still watch both shows. She is a animal lover and so am i❤❤❤❤
Betty lived in Monterey CA near the end of her life. She gave a lot of time and money to the local SPCA. Apparently her big passion was raptors. She would volunteer with the big rescue birds. 🎉 Brave loving lady who is very much missed.
p.s. the A-SPCA in the long TV ads is NY city only. They are not representing the whole country. Yeah, good job for them, but local SPCAs need direct support too. 😊

I looked up Dondi to see if the elephant was still alive but Dondi died in 2010 of unknown causes; charges were filed against the owner for abuse and neglect. 😢 Poor Dondi.
😢 I hope we have learned since then. Babies need their mothers and elephants should be our friends, not our income sources.
