I dont think that they didnt want her to have a career, i think back then it was moreso of other artists on the rise who couldnt compete with jojo lyrically but had the style and apperance to go alot further and releasing her from the contract would have given another label the opportunity to sign her and release new music. Also jojo is the youngest recording artist in history to have a #1 billboard platinum album. I'm DEEPLY impressed by how well-spoken and intelligent she sounds when she speaks. Most of these singers use about a fourth grade vocabulary, use words incorrectly and can barely string a few coherent sentences together. Listening to her speak is really refreshing.

@christian Williams to my knowledge the contract said seven albums. If it said seven years then the other gentleman is correct but ive never heard of music contracts in terms of years. I dont think that they didnt want her to have a career, i think back then it was moreso of other artists on the rise who couldnt compete with jojo lyrically but had the style and apperance to go alot further and releasing her from the contract would have given another label the opportunity to sign her and release new music. Also jojo is the youngest recording artist in history to have a #1 billboard platinum album. I'm just happy that the label she was on didn't try to make her record an album with a bunch of features from rap artists. That's a defense mechanism that they use when they want you to "crossover" to another market. That would have buried her career even deeper.
I'm DEEPLY impressed by how well-spoken and intelligent she sounds when she speaks. Most of these singers use about a fourth grade vocabulary, use words incorrectly and can barely string a few coherent sentences together. Listening to her speak is really refreshing.
