Nothing can be better. The building and then musicians creating sound of an spiritual level. This is something unbelievable for a simple guy like me. Bravo for sound engineers. Denmark!
DR/Burgos produced another standard for Beethoven symphonies. Most of music lovers do not know the real value of this series. DR management should ambitiously let ordinary music lovers know the value of this series.
Interesting to that one cellist (thrid desk outside) has a "mirrored" set-up. Bow left hand, fingerboard right hand. Seen this only once before with a double-bass player.
I don't quite know where else to put this comment, but in my UA-cam feed I was recommended Simon Rattle and the Philharmonia performing this piece. The catch was it was only the first movement, and if you wanted to hear the rest, you had to subscribe (and pay, I suspect) to a website. I find myself a bit saddened saying this, but why would I want to? DR have provided me and others with 9 outstanding performances of the master of the symphonic form (IMO) for gratis, and as far as I'm aware (feel free to correct me) they will be available free forever. I mean absolutely no disrespect to Simon or any of the fantastic players he commands, but - well - this is the world we now live in. What did Dickens say "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". What a strange world we live in right now....
You never know what happens to videos on UA-cam. They sometimes get taken down for arbitrary random reasons, due to changes in policy, copyright, expiration of licenses or a number of other things. When you purchase it, it gives you a more solid hold on it (although any kind of digital purchase is of course not a guarantee of permanency).

Long live public institutions, I say. The younger average age of this audience attests to that, too, I suspect.
