I own the Bucyrus 495 HR. Massive, impressive but beautifully detailed model. A bit costly but really worth while having it in your collection.

Will there ever be an affordable scale model of the Silver Spade or The Captain? That's not as huge as ones I've seen. Plastic or die cast or little of both. Lmk. Love the old stripping shovels.
s it identical to the earlier bucyrus ?
the earlier moddle was a PH shovel and catterpillar purchased both PH and bucyrus
Komatsu bought PH. Cat bought Bucyrus
hope they come up with a one with LED lightings as the they did with the BUCYRUS

How did you solve the problem whit the hoist rope? I have the same problem whit my 7495 HR :(. And by the way grate review Ian :D

P&H was never bought by Bucyrus. Nor was this model based on the P&H 4100XPC it is based on the Bucyrus 495HF.
Did I honestly just hear you say that? Cat doesn't own P&H and never has, Joy global merged with P&H in 2001 after some bankruptcy issues becoming the owner of P&H. They are the direct competitor with Bucyrus, or now Cat.
All models, including the 797F and the regular truck are 1/50 scale?
