The thing is that the actual song that he is covering by Gyptian does say the "tightest hole I've ever felt in my life" and he wasn't talking about a hug... the entire song is about what a good lay the girl was. That's why I die with laughter whenever I listen to the soul Alex Clare injected into this.

I love the Gyptian version, and it because it was sung so well by Gyptian..that it was worthy of being rendered. Alex, you blew me away. I did not think this song could get any better. You brought life to a song that people played out.

We all have a choice to listen to it or not. When I think of caribbean covers, they usually take the original version out of a song and put the "caribbean" in it..making it their own. He made it his own rendition, without disrespecting the original. It was very soulful, and carefully performed..with a wonderful craft. Music is for our ears, and our soul. If you listen with judgment, you will miss the music.

Maybe something like personal opinion? You probably don't like metal, that's just a matter of personal taste isn't it? I love Alex Clare but the original is proper. And I'm pretty sure gyptian says "hold" the song is called "hold yuh" but who knows, I prefer gyptian for this song, I loved it for too long, this just seems strange. But for people who don't like reggae, this is great.

Just saying it was OT (off topic) but I felt that way. I saw a picture of a man prposing to a woman and someone commented "how can they be equals in marriage when he's down on the bended knee". To me that's a sad commentary, how is the man weak for being traditional?
The original song is, erm, questionable. I cannot understand any of what Gyption says. Alex's version seems a more convincing love song sung with true and heart-felt conviction... and it doesn't have sexualised women writhing over the furniture... A big thumbs up to Mr Clare for this cover!

I understand where you are coming from. However, there has always been a debate as to whether Gyptian (the original artist) intended for the word to be ambiguous (almost like a double entendre). I don't think Alex Care intended for there to be any confusion but who knows?
