Couple of suggestions: Rename your fields so you can tell what they are from the blocks screen. Example Button2 rename to FindButton. Your IF THEN structure can be simplified greatly. Button 3 - 2nd If NOT test is not needed. Look at the IF THEN ELSE structure. (little blue box on IF?)
hello there, I'm pretty new to App Inventor but have very good experience in scratch. I have noticed many advantages & disadvantages in each of them. including the online chat engines, I really want to know how to make one in App Inventor.
I know this video is almost a year old so I understand if it dosn't get answered however, when I call my data from my fusion table it puts the ( ) around each list item. What that is in turn doing is not allowing me to search the list for the persons name. I am trying to make a user sheet that is easily managed since a webdb is not as easily managed. Any help or advice would be great. thank you.

I did everything exactly you did in this tutorial but its still doesnt work for me the " check if already in database " solution so i can create the same student ID like 150x without any problem. Will you be able to post follow up tutorial where it'll show list of multiple rows returns based on partial search result and then choose one from the list. For example, I want user to be able to enter last name to search and list all the rows returns with that last name with first name and other info. Then let the user choose correct record based on matching last name and other info returned. Once user clicks on that record find screen will close and return the record back to main screen with all other returned fields for more processing. Regards, Jay
