Every Sunday I’m gonna drop a little knowledge on you from here on out. This is my first installment of The Sunday Special! This week I go over 5 awesome welding tools that have increased my speed, productivity and creativity! Which if your in the game you know how important those three things are! Being a welder is a problem solving job and these tools help with just that!
Love your stuff Anthony.. I talk about you in welding class often ... nobody wants to hear it but I admire your set up
he is cool.....
Thanks brother!
Want to see a Jedi master welder check out ICWELD
I utilize the Miller Titanium 9400i with the PAPR, also I have a Miller Classic Series set up for the PAPR. Yes the rig is expensive, but it is worth it. Plus it helps cool you.
I push the same advice on health. A good respirator is one of the best things to have.
I also want to thank you for getting the message out to the crowd.
On the QDs for the O/A hose I bolted a set to the hose rack so I can connect the hose to something so I don't get water and dirt in the connectors.
Those black stallion brand gloves are the best!!🇺🇲🇺🇲
The respirators are a must! Every shop I've gone too i get on everyone's ass about protecting themselves. Took me a few years to find it myself but once I did I've never gone back! Worth every penny!
@vik both, especially stainless , the hexavalent chromium is deadly.....
any time you vaporizing metal. grinding, welding, heating, melting.
5:13 finally dropped the 60$ to get a good respirator for under my helmet while stick welding. Reading these comments from old timers and hearing the stories finally bit the bullet. Only 15 right now so 60$ is a pretty penny
All my memories of my grandfather (Dad's dad) was with him and his little talk box. LA county iron worker. I wore one of those resperators and they were going to fire me for not being fit tested first. I said "go ahead, pull the cord on my termination papers and we'll have a chat" needless to say that was the end of that conversation
A scarfing tip is not for piercing plate. It is for cutting spigots and risers. It is a flush cutting tip that can cut off projection features clean to a surface. It is not for severing, it is for trimming. ---Doozer
REAL MAN OF GENIOUS
thank you brother
"your lungs are very important" I learn something new everyday from you, I've been using the damn things to breath so from now on I'll put them in a box in a safe place
I've been using #3 since 1971. Probably every heavy equipment mechanic I ever knew had one in his tool box.
I have the same 3M quick release mask and love it! I love that you can easily drop it below your chin like you did without having to take the whole thing off. Thanks for the tips
Thank you Brother! Have had and use that 3m respirator for years. Fits great under the hood and really filters out all the garbage!👍
Looking forward to the Sunday special...
Right on! Thinks for sharing!
Thanks for reminding me about a respirator. Mine got burned up, and I hadn't gotten around to replacing it, but with your reminder I went straight to amazon and bought a replacement. Thanks
Yes more of this content please really helps !!!
good one
Keep up the good work anthony, thanks for the tips, love your videos
Tip #4 , the light weight and rugged 3M 6503QL Respirator has been a major improvement in my welding enjoyment and lung safety. I used to use N95's but usually ripped them off part way through the weld because my glasses fogged up and I just ended up breathing in all that flux core or rod smoke. Since I bought the very affordable and effective 6503QL (using 'my boy's' link) , I use it all the time. I really like that you can breathe normally - and the drop-down function means I don't even have to take it off for non-welding work and then no adjustment when it's time to mask up again.
Thank you so much. Love this channel never quit!!!!
Great information. Keep spreading the welding gospel, brother!
I have been using 4 out of the 5 items you listed for a long time and can agree with everything you said about each one. I just wish I heard about that spreader clamp years ago.. that will definately be a near future purchase to add to the arsenal. My other go to item is a good face shield. I always wear safety glasses and a face shield. Cant weld if you cant see!
Just ordered those spreader clamps off your link👍. Thanks again, Brother⭐️
I love em!
Very informative thanks
All these videos on here talking about tools you need for welding or whatever, and they are always the same common tools you already have. This is the first tool video I've seen where all but 1 (the respirator) I didn't know existed and are extremely useful and cool AF! Oh the quick connect torches I've seen but forgot about until this video! Awesome tools!! Thanks for the video!
Thanks Anthony for the great video
I love the scarfing tip for removing fused bolts and nuts...
A video I can stand behind!
i always have two grinders, one for cutting and one for grinding, never loan them out
and carry a couple propane tips.
I’m not a welder but I love your watching your videos man
A magnetic ground is another one that's really useful.
Got it!
Thanks for the tips. Loving the Sunday Specials.
Glad you like them!
Great info thank you!!
Great stuff Anthony.....thanks for sharing....Paul
Thanks mate
Good advice!
The scarfing tip is a great tip! We use them in welding school to wash off the backing plates on out test cupons. 👍great channel I'm looking into getting into the mobile game soon and have learned alot from your videos.
Fantastic video again as all ways. Great tips i love that clamp I will be getting 1. I’m just starting my own welding business and all your videos are a great help and inspiration massive thanks 👍👍👍👍
Took your advice and ordered the respirator. I’ve been looking for one that fits under the hood. I was eyeing it in some of your other videos. Thanks!
Always good tips and content Anthony 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the tips
No problem!
For your spreader gadget check out push pull dogs. Easy to make.
good tips
Tienes un gran equipo en tu pick un y tienes experiencia y me gustan tus trabajos, me caes bien 👍
Recently been spam watching this dudes videos, Would be super valuable to be this dudes helper if someone was new in the game I know I should would try to learn from him!
Awesome :)
I suggest a hydraulique hand pump, or steel wedges
been wanting those bottle caps for while might have to order some now lol
I realize this video is a year old, but excellent tips! Merry Christmas Dude!
I'm gunna have to get one of them respirators for my boy he's been bugging me for a couple of years to teach him to weld now that he's 7 I finally gave in and been let em use the mig a litle bit
good investment. especially at that age
Hey Anthony, Great Job Brother!
This is absolutely fantastic. I appreciate this video.
I used to HATE your little intro beep bop theme song. I have grown to love it and do a little dance when it comes on.
Luckily one of the first things my welding teacher taught us was the respirators! Good video!
good teacher!
u are right
Anthony, when you are making a surface cut with a torch and you don't want to cut into the face of the other metal: preheat like you said, rotate the head like you said, but when you start the cut, slowly move the torch head back in the opposite direction of the cut while pressing the oxygen. Release and repeat while you gradually work forward in steps. You will notice when the "swipe" is complete when the "line" of your cut appears and you see the surface of the metal you are saving. By backing off each time, you give the metal you are removing a place to go, up and out. Once you get it you will see what i mean. Love the channel.
-JIW, lo. 512
thanks hill give that a try
Solid technique,
Wow 1.3k likes. Channel is getting big Anthony! And you deserve it!!!!
Ratchet straps are also handy like a c clamps
Do yourself a favor and get an arc gouging set up from the Amazon it will change your game. I rocked the gouging torch tip for a good long while till I tried the arc gouger. Never going back. So much faster.
got one! my compressor is down currently
@@MeltinMetalAnthony that's the worst.
Another awsome tool, the heavy 600lb dewalt wood working clamps. Come in various sizes, anytime you need an extra hand pushing, pulling, holding spreading, they are handier then a shirt pocket and at like $28 to replace if they get melted whatever just buy another.
i go for all steel bar clamps, no plastic parts that wil melt
@@Erwin-eo7iv all steel f bar clamps are like $50 to $300 for just one.
The dewalt clamps are $25 to $40 each for 12" to 5ft long.
Pretty sure I have 6 dewalt clamps on my truck at all times that together cost me less then $200 and iv had most for like 4 years.
Just don't go laying full hot beads 2" from them and they last perfectly fine.
Wow I work on some big high rises and Ive never seen some of this stuff
Haha. Awesome, I like your style man. Good stuff!
I have been a HD mechanic for along time, I never seen those spreader clamps! Cool.
Anyway ya gotta Sub keep on keepin on.
Thanks, you too!
thanks man, learning a lot from you, but can t use the product links here in germany. anyway thanks!! elmar
Should have mentioned a Magnetic burning guide, mine is a CurveOmark.
I agree with you on the whole mask wearing for welding, not for covid. Anyhow, you should try out the Miller masks, they are legit & way lower profile than that 3M but if you like the Miller and wanna save a little coin get the Eclipse brand mask they are the ones who make the Miller masks.
had the miller, didn't seal on my face very well
That weld by the toolbox is "wicked". Was it done on take your 3 year old to work day?
👍🏼👍🏼 MM77 Approved
We use those scarfing tips for beveling pipe too when there isn’t a pickle cutter around. Saves a whole lot of time compared to cutting straight then beveling it with a grinder
Based on the vertical weld at 3:03,I'd say you need A LOT of practice,or a SHITLOAD of grinding discs....
It ain't gotta be Picasso, it just gotta hold. LOL, Dob that chit on there and move on to the next one. That truck ain't the space shuttle! But we all do apparciate your eyes for the details, thank you much...
That respirator is the most important to any welder can have but only about 10% of them wear one
If you dont have them aready get some reversable bar clamps from pony.
I had every victor tip they made and we call that a wash tip
You need to get an airfed mask bro i have an esab papr and g50 mask never looked back not as spacious as a speedglas but alot cheaper
Excellent info. And thankyou. Can I ask. Should I wear mask. Tig mig and anything else?
👍
The bottle caps new to me got to get me some also the spreader tool snd us link where to find them
its in the description below
You’re right about the mask, almost no one in America wears masks welding, in Europe they all do
😎👍
Where's the list, hey I have a suggestion, a clamp that allows you to clamp angle iron on ends, a 90 degree v
Can you make a how to video for the gouging tip for oxy-acety
Sure thing I’ll add it to the list!
What's your opinions on plasma cutters?
I don't currently have one
100 ft hose reel.
You seem like a smart guy -them connects will leak 80 percent of the time Def need blowback protection. Push cut is always better than a pull or rip cut depends on aesthetic value or weld joint geometry ibeen doing this shit for 40 years and there is still smthn to do better every time I'm a
pro had to learn then xcell taught many a young fella one thing I can tell ya - do it to the best of your ability no one can take that from you
TORCHMAN HA just ol farmboy
I dont mean to sound like a nob but you know on the respirator side you can also get air fed masks? Especially in florida it might feel nicer to use, i never really see them in American videos but in the UK theyre as popular as normal masks.
Incase you havent seen them they have a filter pouch you attach to your hip on a belt and it feeds aid through a tube up into your mask, which is sealed around your neck and face... your welding mask can normally flip up but stays secure as a clear mask instead.
If you can source them they are much better than a 3m mask and welding hood ontop
5:42 are those dust cartridges or charcoal cartridges??. They look like dust cartridges which do nothing for harmful vapors or smoke. Charcoal cartridges are for vapors and smoke.
Good information, foul mouth.
very foul
@@MeltinMetalAnthony Keep on cussin, Anthony. Love the videos, love the work you do, you the best! Let them expletives fly, baby!
Hi Anthony where that mask in July
I new you youd say fuck Montana
I'm going back to Florida
I'm from north Dakota moved to Arizona never looked back good luck brother welder love your videos
Hi
Fuck yeah quick connects. Fuck yeah haven't used those scarfing tips but hav to agree. Fuck yeah respirator, see all that shit floating in the air with ur flashlight. Fuck yeah clamps work for free.
buy a air fed mask
just a n 95 filter mask is easier you just keep it on, airfed maybe if your production welder,
some states have laws barring pressurized cylinder transport with regulators attached with or without safety caps. it's an expensive lesson to learn trying to save a couple minutes of set up and roll up. DOT has no sense of humor nor sympathy
not in my state!
@@MeltinMetalAnthony florida follows federal DOT regulations so regulators must be removed. just be careful. luckily cops are ignorant. became a real pain in texas once they figured out the money that could be raised gouging rig welders
tip # 4 got me
fuck
hi what’s going on
😂😂😂
Lol
Hey Anthony I am 17 and run a small welding business, Is there an email I can reach you at?
instagram in the best way to get me
It was so annoying in the first lockdown I was trying to get a respirator for months for cutting pavers at work and all the paranoids bought them out of stock
that sucks! I always keep a few packs in stock
"Any welder" here - but you offered nothing useful for a SMAW/stick/arc welder other than the "spreader" tool.
We're not all oxy-acet welders.
