When I'm painting, no matter if paper, canvas or wall, I'm constantly in a fear of messing it up because I didn't stop at the right point. But I should probably think of it Bob Ross style. it is his style to use black as shadow - i always mix my black to make it more smooth… this makes this „dirty“ look… thanks for your feedback - check out his spraycan art on his channel, it looks much more smooth, because he uses values of one colour for shading, instead of black with an airbrush…

Only because you're a massive inspiration for me, and I know you reply to comments, I have a question for you. Sometimes I'll get a can that spatters. I'm wondering if you have any idea as to why this happens. It isn't cold here, and it even does it with a fresh nozzle. It's really hard to get clean work when you have a can that spits shit out everywhere. Also for the record I'm using ironlak cans, and not some cheap brand. Love your work man, I learn a lot from watching your videos. Thanks for putting them on UA-cam for the world to see.
you just did not shake enough - even if you buy a new can, it can be 2 years old, because you never know how long it was standing in a storage anywhere... splattering means, that little balls of pigments that stick together block the valve for some time and can even totally clog it. If you got a splattering can, smash the can against your shoe to free all 2-3 balls that might stick on the bottom of the can in the pigments, shake it for a minute, use the fattest fatcap and spray the can upside down until only gas comes out, and shake for another minute.... now it should be mixed properly...
