Yeah. There is alsoa lot less time between seeing them and commanding them so that should be covered by the normal memory erasure effect unlike Villeta who he had to convince to leave her knightmare.
This show really benefits attention to details and Mehgan has been killing it with the theories and predictions. Love the reaction you guys cant wait for more.

Something worth noting that isn't well covered in the show... Kallen is older than the war. Her mother and the Brittanian noble likely had a healthy relationship as husband and wife at one point. Then the war broke out and suddenly his personal life was 'consorting with the enemy'. They could've separated amicably, but the kids complicated the issue. So the husband finds a new wife that can't have kids but wants them and convinces her to adopt Kallen. She agrees but only under the condition that they can't see their mother again. Of course Kallen's mother doesn't accept that and bargains to work as a maid. Kallen's stepmother probably only agreed thinking she could drive Mrs. Kouziki away by being a total bitch. It's not stated why exactly the father leaves for the homeland so often but it could be to salvage his rep by ensuring he's a good patriotic britannian. Or maybe he just wants to get away from the situation at home. Lord knows I would.
What a truly messed up situation.
I actually really enjoy the talking. A lot of people who react to things offer very little actual reaction or analysis, so it’s actually refreshing to see all the talking during the episodes and these long discussion breaks in between

@@seandun7083 in second season Lloyd talks like Shneizel have a additional sponsorship, not a patronage. Am I wrong?
@@Braindem0n I believe they work together a lot more during the second season, but I'm fairly certain that there are a couple lines about Schneizel having some involvement with them. I can't remember exactly when but either Clovis or Cornelia has some line about how they would prefer to not ask the Lancelot for help because they would end up owing their older brother a debt. I guess it doesn't matter too much until he gets officially introduced though.

It's never explicitly stated, but "Britannia" is the product of old world royals and nobles being driven out by Napoleon to the american colonies. Ancient resentment and entitlement festered into a ruthless militarism, and a desire to prove their "Inborn superiority" to the world. They were a nominally christian nation and very zealous, hence "Holy" Britannian empire, (possibly also a nod to the holy roman empire which was also abolished by napoleon), but in the modern age they have adopted Social Darwinism as their state ideology. Old values of compassion and mercy were replaced with ruthless efficiency and "might makes right".
In short, the "Britannia" of the show is a festering chimera of some of the worst impulses and grudges of humanity, hardened to a fine edge. A look at what happens when progress occurs technologically, but without the social lessons needed. Also, WW1 and WW2 never happened, which is why war can be so ruthless yet so glorified at the same time.
Just wanted to say I’m glad you guys are watching it in Dub. Really enjoyed their performance which is rare for English dubs. Loved the reactions!❤

There is a spinoff series called Code Geass: Akito The exiled. I enjoyed it, however I NEVER see people react to it, do you two have any plans for watching?
All the stuff Lelouch said to Kallen when the hot dog guy was getting beaten up were not Lelouch's true feelings. Since Kallen interacts with Zero so much, Lelouch cranks his 'disinterested student' act up to 11 with her to make himself seem as far removed from Zero as possible. It works to such an extent that she slaps him for seemingly caring so little about the world around him.
With Suzaku, he can't put on an act to the same extent since Suzaku knows him from way back, and he still wants to bring Suzaku over to Zero's side. So he is more honest about his feelings that the Black Knights are doing good with Suzaku in an attempt to convince Suzaku to change his mind.

I still maintain to this day, that one of the easiest things the writers could have done to lend some much needed legitimacy to Suzaku's position is give him some, even just meager, authority at the start of the story.
It would have made his resistance to the Black Knights a lot more understandable- he's been making some small progress towards changing Britannia from within, and now these damn terrorists are coming in and ruining everything.
Of course, it would have required massive rewrites, so I understand why it didn't happen, but it's definitely one of the biggest missed opportunities in the series.
It’s crazy how a Japanese show mirrors issues in the U.S. so accurately.

@@DoggyP00 The obvious one is high drug use in low income areas. The rich/nobility using dirty cops to spread drugs to the less fortunate (minorities/elevens). Another one is colonialism like how the USA colonized America and gave the natives a “specialized administrative zone”. Britannia is the USA in a different universe.

I know you said that comment you read near the end about Lelouch having other “selfish” motives wasn’t a spoiler, but tbh it kind of is because you didn’t come up with that idea yourself. I can tell you guys are smart people, so I personally don’t think you need any outside sources helping you out! Your reactions are already good without getting these ‘hints’.
Lelouch’s speech about the hot dog seller was not his honest beliefs, it was his public face as a Britannia’s student. Lelouch isn’t trying to save Japan. he’s trying to kill the royal family in an act of personal revenge.
That doesn't make sense lol. His actions of altruism like this makes him stand out unnecessarily. . It was definitely his honest beliefs.

Wallowing in the past isn't too far fetched for hard drugs, the things you feel and experience while high have to come from what's already in your head anyway. A lot of psychoactives can help work through trauma or long term memories, I'm sure that was the inspiration for Refrain; that and the real role that drug trade, especially opiates, have historically had in real world imperialism.

In real life, obviously Suzaku's idealogy is a million times more realistic and effective than Lelouch's, and ironically vigilantly justice and even outright terrorism that Lelouch is doing is the more naive and shortsighted method of causing change. Discussions like this are what make good fantasy so good, in that it tests how strictly you view your convictions on how you should act against, in Code Geass's example, what you would do against an overwhelming corrupt force given a much more extreme example as opposed to real life, where generally everyone is a nice person and just wants to live a good life.
Not really. Suzaku is nothing but a Nazi Collaborater and traitor in real life 😂.
@@greatsageequaltoheaven8115not really, in real life if you look to your past a lot of countries conquer the others, And when your country lost, a lot of people just get tired of fighting and war, specially a lost battle. Suzaku still wanna fight but he want to change for inside not killing more innocent. He believe a war against Britain would be impossible to win and would kill millions.

Nina is literally the most annoying character in all of anime. She annoys me even more than Sakura, she's that bad.
Nah, no one will ever beat Miranda Lotto from D.Gray-man in terms of annoyance.

The thing with Nina is that she actually has a reason for some of her behavior. She was raised in a world where children grow up learning that the Numbers are inferior to Britannians.
You can clearly see that she's afraid of the Japanese people, and this was *before* she was being held hostage, at gunpoint, by "Elevens" during the hotel jacking.
Sakura, when the show started off, bad mouthed Naruto by saying that he's a bad kid that doesn't know any better because he's an orphan, and called him annoying. Then, in a different scene later on in Shippuden (pretty sure it was a movie), starts complaining *to Naruto* about how annoying her parents are. The creators of the show intentionally made Sakura an incredibly tone-deaf character, and seemed to try their best to make her unlikeable in a lot of the scenes she's in.
I'm not saying that Nina's actions and what she says are okay, but if you look at Nina's character, and I mean *actually* look at her, then she's really not as awful as people try to make her out to be.
@@krazytreRTM personally if you ask me, Nina feels like an unnecessary character to me for the sole reason of the 'atom bomb' plot. She feels like a forced character, literally nothing would change if she didn't exist.
@@blackman7186 Would much change if Rivalz didn't exist? Not really. What about Milly, whose main purpose in the anime is to create "filler" episodes? The idea that a character can only exist if they expand the plot is an odd one since in many medias there are tons of characters that are *just* side characters that may or may not even hold an important role within the story.
And the weird thing about your comment is that Nina has more plot relevance than most other characters.
I like your reactions, but I wish you were pressing pause when you want to talk about something right away. It seems to me that you miss a few things here and there while talking. Anyway, love the discussion!
