    I've always thought that if I had to give props to anything Gallardo, it would be the sound of the V10, which when revved and thrown about between 4-6k rpm always made such a glorious, intoxicating sound not many of the current day cars can even come close to emulate, not even it's own successor.

    • @AntoniusTyas
      @AntoniusTyas 2 роки тому +10

      Huracan's pretty mad. Heard an STO up close being revved, sounds like it wants to just explode. It's so brutal I don't think that exhaust is actually road legal.

    • @kavinskysmith4094

      its called a Quattro, it was made between 1980 and 1991, and will blow the doors off of that carlucia any day of the week when it comes to the sound, and it is NOT the sound anything from the house of the Prancing Bull should have under its bonnet, worst part is actually their was a far better sounding V10 this car put out of business
      the Viper, like this car gentrified the V10 and made it boring, and thanks to that we lost that car and are stuck with an LFA that ran into a gallardo that was put into a smelter with that stupid ugly hurican.

    • @CyroTheSpider
      @CyroTheSpider 2 роки тому +8

      I actually think the first generation Gallardo sounded better. This is the second generation. It has the uneven firing engine, but the one before sounded more close to the Lexus LFA or the Carrera GT. It's a matter of taste, but old-F1 sounding engines have a special place in my heart.

    • @kavinskysmith4094
      @kavinskysmith4094 2 роки тому

      @@CyroTheSpider okay fair enough I didnt know, I didnt know their was a difference, I mean I had heard with the very first ones the gearing was different and it acted more lambo like
      wonder if they prototyped the revision they did on the V12's on the gallardo's, as in 2014 they dumped the long well loved standard that was the Bizzarini V12 they had, had since 1963
      and opted for the newer one, which has a noticeable difference in its tone.
      also one of these damn days I'm gonna seek that guy out and shake his hand, as he's like 96 and still around.

      While the Viper did sound amazing, the Viper failed because it lacked creature comforts. No AC, traction control or a roof. It was too raw. Simple as that.

    You HAVE to get hold of an LFA...that V10 is a total work of automotive art.

    I love the design on the Gallardo.
    Especially the newer ones.
    For me the ultimate would be a 550-2 with a manual gearbox.
    It is more old-school and driver focused.
    And personally I would have that over a 430 Scuderia.
    Mostly cause it is so much more beautiful than a 430.
    Never been a fan of the design on the 430 personally.
    Nice video though.

    Wing is standard on the SL. Also rear glass and engine lid cover glass is Perspex. You can loose another 30kg by getting an aftermarket inconel exhaust, and another 45kg by doing a rwd conversion (simple unbolt the front diff and prop)

    Nice video James! I have a green 570 with the ccb and absolutely love the car. Yes it’s is very stiff, certainly on the bad roads here in Malaysia I am shaken around like James Bond’s martini. However, driving a Lotus Exige for years got me used to it. Didn’t you have an exige as well?
    The rear wing as in your video is standard, as is the plexi engine bay cover. Mine also has some led lights to illuminate the bay (not my idea, but who cares). I’ve been thinking about removing the front drive part, it’s seemingly a 1hr job, though I hear it’s best to keep the front diff in place for car balance. Anyhow, glad you drove this car and made the video🙏🏽🙏🏽

    Yes, Lambo did make a Superleggera-lite out of LP550-2, all earmarked for Southeast Asian market. So it's LP550-2 Singapore Limited Edition, Malaysia Limited Edition, and Indonesia Limited Edition. What's the difference between all three?
    Well... the place they're offered. That's it. Only 12 for each country, if I remembered correctly. Saw something like 3-4 of Indonesia Limited Edition during my lifetime, unless you know what you're looking at you'd miss it as just another Gallardo.

    Lamborghini Gallardo 550-2 for the US market and maybe others has 2 wheel drive & weight around the same as a Superleggera weight while being a "reg" production car. The tyres are 295s on the rear of these not 285s. That particular spoiler was an option, you are correct. The SL2 came with the option of large spoiler, as in this one or the standard which was a truncated version of the same spoiler. Also, this car is missing the optional engine bay carbon fibre dressing. Inside the raised bit where the driving mode buttons are, the binnacle and centre dial surrounds and the steering wheel were optional carbon. CCBs were an option, that is correct. Everywhere else was standard. LED lighting in the engine deck lid was also an option. You can transform these cars even further with some minor ish modifications, such as K&N Air Filters, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Exhaust (saving even more weight - around 15Kgs, I believe), a remap (mainly to change the torque curve characteristics), some suspension mods and fitting slightly wider track Michelin Pilot Sports 4S, say 245 front and 305 rear…..I may have experience with most of these suggestions…..😂

    There we are then: the F430 Scuderia is a supersporty FIAT zizz-box and the LP570-4 Superleggera is a supersporty tractor. I like the V10 engine note, not least because you can tell it's a V10 whereas flat-plane crank V8s all sound like four-cylinder motors working very hard. I'm not exactly a fan of yank-tank lumpy V8s, but I've never understood the appeal of Ferrari V8s when you could get the same noise out of a FIAT 127 with the right exhaust fitted (and that was an observation I made when watching 'Magnum Pi' forty-plus years ago).
    Conclusion: save half the money and get an R8 V10. You almost said it, James....

    The original Superleggera holds a very special place in my heart but the LP570-4 is right up there along with it. I would absolutely take one over a F430 Scuderia, no questions asked. Some day I'll own one of these bulls.

    The lambo looks better than the scud but the scud sounds better! I'd go the lambo as it looks so good and scud looks dated slightly! And the lambo should be faster! The scud looks great in the dark Gray and helps it as in red it looks really dated lambo looks great in all colors! So lambo for me! Looks great faster! But the scud in dark grey looks beautiful! And no turbos ! God bless all🙏❤
