- Phillip Schofield has said he is “not a groomer” as he gave his first interviews since he resigned from ITV over an affair with a much younger colleague.
The disgraced TV presenter said he is “utterly broken and ashamed” over the dalliance he had with the younger man, but denies grooming him.
He resigned from ITV last week and was dropped by his talent agency YMU after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” relationship.

As a grooming victim myself, from an almost identical circumstance (from which I've never been able to get justice or closure) I'm glad to see the self inflicted torture he is suffering.

I know nothing about a Hush Agreement. If he is guilty, he is guilty, and he deserves to be punished commensurate with his crime, however, if he is innocent of any criminal acts, surely it's time to back off. So far, all that's been banded about is conjecture and gossip.

Laws may be broken, Schofield met the boy when he was 15 and kept in touch, it seems he paid for a flat the boy lived in, he got him a job at ITV working with him on the morning show.
All was well till the boy threatened Schofield about going to the papers, the affair ended and Schofield had him moved to another programme Loose Women, the boy didn't want to move, Schofield didn't want to work with him any more.
It seems the boys been in a bad way.

When this whole mess started, I waited for a celebrity or fellow journalist to come out in his support, with stories of how he had helped people or organisations over the years. I’m utterly confused about this whole controversy. What did PS do that was so wrong? The worst allegation I could find was that he had a relationship with a man, a fellow ITV employee, who was much younger than him. But there is no evidence that the man in question was below the age of consent at the relevant time or that he wasn’t a willing participant in the relationship. So where exactly is the issue?
If every workplace relationship was regarded in this way, then I fear many people would find themselves in difficulty; and indeed I know quite a few happily married couples who met in the workplace, some of whom - shock, horror! - even have a significant age gap.
So if someone could please articulate exactly what PS did that was so wrong that it warranted all of this drama, I’d be grateful. As it is, it looks to me like a rather silly storm in a teacup or some sort of moral panic which the media have embraced because it has a certain puerile entertainment value.

I don’t condemn what he did. He himself admits what he did was wrong, therefore there is no longer a debate regarding the fault here.
However, we need to look at where we go from here. The victim in this situation, the boy/man in question, is clearly in a difficult position. It’s known that Philip and the boy/man have had communication throughout this ordeal and there doesn’t seem to be any animosity except for the media attention on it.
Where do we go with Philip? I’m not going to brazenly state rumours as facts. The public have decided it was grooming and Philip denies this, and also encourages the boy/man to make a public announcement to confirm or deny this. That seems the best decision. I understand the frustration of the public but I just refuse to jump on the bandwagon of rumoured facts without any evidence, no matter how obvious it seems. I want to wait until the boy makes a statement on what actually took place.
He’s lost his job, his career, everything. I think we should just leave it here. Cheryl Cole dated Liam Payne and had known him since he was 14 as she was a judge to the audition he did on X-Factor, yet she hasn’t received the same treatment.
No matter what I feel inside, the facts matter more. It’s a human instinct to not want to see someone suffer, no matter who it is, and it’s an uneasy watch. In my view, he’s paid the price and this should be it now.

There seems to be something very toxic about TV presenters in general, this is not the first scandal and will not be the last. He needs to pack up and go and retire in the Sun, he could live a life of retirement most people could never dream of. The problem is his ego and lust for the spotlight will never give him peace, he is clearly a narcissist. Lets not forget how cruel and condescending he has been to some of the vulnerable guests on the show one of them so traumatised by his questions in front of millions they almost took their own life! He has lost what he can never get back, but he will live the rest of his life never accepting it. I wonder what else is lying in wait for us to learn about him.
