Fred Olsen 'BLACK WATCH' Cruise 1980

1980 Cruise on Fred Olsen's 'Black Watch' toThe Canary Islands and Madeira, this was our 2nd cruise on this ship, but my 1st video camera, it was big and heavy, hence I didn't take it far off the ship, not many facilities back then, most of the entertainment took part round the pool area, was the ship was only about !0,000 tons and 350 passengers, we all thought it was really good though, all very friendly. we all thought it was quite a big ship, I'd like to see it parked alongside one of the new ones at about 20 times the size.

1980 Cruise to Madeira and the Canary Islands on the Black Watch with Jean, Martin and Melanie, and Doris Spong, cruising has changed quite a lot since then, most of the activities took place round the pool, the crew seemed to do lots of jobs, there were about 350 passengers, the ship weighed about 10,000 tons, some of the new ships are about 20 times larger, but we enjoyed it just as much as we got to know most of the passengers and crew. The entertainment was Vince Eager and Audrey Squires.
