- Good Morning everyone and welcome to the Grandfathers house. In this series I will review and talk about everything Nurgle. I will give tips on matchups if you desire them, I will comment on list that have done well, or just community submitted ones if their are enough for a video! Please let me know what you would like to see on this segment. My first installment is my list building guide/tierlist. I think nurgle is in a strong place, maybe a little weaker then some others but we have to tools to get wins and take trophies. Glory To The Grandfather! Let them see our wards!

Hey bud, you came highly recommended by Russel Crowe AoS and he wasn't kidding, great video, love the insights and tips. Always feel a kinship with anyone who puts stock in running Morbi with 2x3 Nurglings.
Morbi and nurglings are a great this area is mine unless ya send a hammer. And Russel is a beautiful person, if I could I would invite that man for dinner once a week just to hear his voice and to have him yell compliments at people on the sidewalk
That is possibly the most useful overview ive seen so far.
I'm only just starting MoN so have only so far got the Spearhead, Plaguelord, Sorcerer, 2 units of Nurglings, and a beast. Not exactly the best start, but I mainly went with what looked fun. Now i need to make it work 😂🤦♂️
Had been put off Morbidex from other videos, but you make a strong case for him. Especially with what i have so far.
Morbidex is a really good this side of the field is mine with some nurglings! If they send a huge hammer they will knock em off he table, but thats something thats not going towards your guo/glottkin or your main army. Its been very good
@@raymondlane it's tempting. Though the lot I play with are more playing at 1500pts initially.
Weighing up Slimux and a Beast against Gutrot and Rotmire. I can see why you say they're useful.
@@SteveForteGMR A lot of times i play just slimux and dont play a beast, the revive is nice but slimuix does enough on his own. But for 1,500 points gutrot might get more milage depending on the rest of your list

@@envaya9838 I picked up 3x beasts, horticulous, 2 boxes blightkings, 4 boxes of posgoyles, glotkin, 2 boxes of rotmire creed, 2 boxes of plague drones, 2 sorcerer's, 2 trees, 1 lord of plagues :) nice mix of things and alot of just models I like :)

That was a comprehensive and well articulated breakdown. I never would have looked at starting a Nurgle army, but you have me converted!
Forgot to comment this earlier, but I love seeing competitively designed lists! I'm not saying you have to play super sweaty with your opps (love your style of banter), but I do like seeing both players designing lists and playing to won

One benefit to poxbringer over rotbringer is that he can join a guos regiment like slop and scriv.
@@Jerm-ct5jf yeah that's the main benefit of him but most of the time you want that slot filled by a bile piper. Unless your doing guo and mortals mostly then he has a nice pocket pick
Good video, thanks a lot. Do you have any recommendation for "mixed lists" including mortals and demons?
most list are mixed at the moment, demons are kind of a side package, less of an all on it at the moment and the same with mortals. 1-2 kings, 1-2 drones. 2-4 plague bearers 1-3 rotmire creed, a guo. bilepiper if high enough number of bearers or points allow. horti or gutrot, (both if ya have points and wanna go all in) then you should have some room to flex over for some maggoth lords, maybe some casters and foot heroes.

ive tried it a few times, i think it has play and is pretty good with rotigus, but not an auto include

Thanks for putting in the work for the rest of us. 2 questions: have you tried the BoN power through combo?(power througg out of combat the charge back in 2d3 a turn for a command point.). Is Gutrot good with kings or should we stick to lords and creed in his reg?
Beast of Nurgle and power through is nice if you have the extra command points, but a lot of times I dont have the free on sitting around, but that can be a nice play. Most of the time ill just retreat the beast as d3 damage doesnt matter to it much. And kings can work with gutrot fairly well, either with a lord of plague and going for an 8 inch charge, or just to move some kings up the side edge to be closer to the fight. The only problem with it is youll need some practice with it and be careful for which map your on. If you put them in the back and fail the charge, then your opponent can just walk away from them if theirs not an objective nearby you can threaten. Practice a bit with it and youll start to know when and where you should throw them down at! Remember ya dont have to bring em down turn 1!
Nice I started nurgle last season got more reps in with demons and rotmire than anything else. Didnt find many list for mortals lacking a mounted maggot lord. I ran Gutrot with the 1 unit of mortal flys and double rotmire. Good shooty times.

I agree with almost everything you said.
We have to make choice In our list building. And I can't find the perfect balance between daemon and mortal.
Pusgoyle are too expansive and without support, Putrid blightking are just a big slow mountain of flesh which doesn't strike back. Lord of Blight make putrids defensive and wait for a charge.
Our damage has to rely on disease but it's not a reliable source of damage. We don't have punchy unit, that's why we play Glottkin, Maggoth and GUO. To get rend 2 and multiple damage.
I played 4 games with Horticulous. I never rolled a 4+. He gave me some times because my opponent has to deal with trees.
I can't set up my first tree correctly to avoid a counter charge with something big and be a threat in a game.
I've seen every video you posted with Nurgle Army and I am curious to know what works the best for you.
Bloab works with plage Cyst. I suicide a rotmire Creed in a Gargant with blaob spell on him
I made 20 damage with almost 10 damage from bloab Spell.
I can't find a better Enhancement hero than a GUO that's why he is on almost my list. But I like to play the +1 move. It gives me tactics with infantry.

Glad to see ya enjoyed it! and most maps I usually try on drop a tree on their faces to try and get the turn one, if I don't think I can or its not something I can't use to spread, then I will try to drop them near a point I want to protect, or in a way that makes it difficult for them to charge.
And for Bloab's spell and Plague Cyst, all of the damage from them dieing would count as 1 instance for the spell to activate. So even if you rolled say 4 mortal wounds with the Plague Cyst, it would only be one chance at a 4up for one additional mortal wound. Which is very sad
@raymondlane Do you consider including gutrot + Rotmire and Horticulous in a rotigus list or is it too much ?

Quick question: why would you go 2 units of 10 PBs instead of 1 unit of 20 for the daemon core? Just curious. Your core is very similar to what I have learned to be good too but I don’t have drones so I use kings.
@@solosam47 more bodies to go in separate directions. A lot of heavy hammers can kill 10pb in one activation and it lets you tie them up on your turn with the other 10 if they hit the brick of 20 instead of loosing 10 ya might loose 14-15

I actively want to go second with Nurgle most of the time, only full demon list with 40+ Plaguebearers want to go first most of the time. But being forced to go first in this edition is not nearly as bad as it was in 3rd
Thanks for this. Lots to think about. How do you feel about Festus? Obviously he's living under a sword of damocles right now, but he's also seems pretty cheap on points for some handy abilities.
Festus sadly has gone to legends and is no longer in matched play :(

According to your posted batreps I'm struggling to see the value of slimux. You always forget the tree or can't place it somewhere useful and if you do get beasts recursion you can't get them into position!
It depends heavily on the terrain your in. It has worked better in live tournament then the ones we do on the channel, because we have been using Mitches mod for most of our games here and Mitch loves giant terrain pieces. Its most of the time turn 1-2 I get the tree where I need it and the spread can do a lot, (doesn't every game) but can be back breaking when it does. Its also a piece that most opponents will see as a threat and will divert stuff to kill, which means it got closer to your main army and you can fight their damage piece, or you can pull something out of position to deal with him and then focus on their army more. In total war warhammer it would be called a distraction Carnosaur!

@@andreasgorander7316 wholly within 12 6 away for the disease. Has to be outside of 3 but usually ya just wanna tap 2 units within 6 so they can't redeploy out of it

Do you have sample rotigus and or blightking lists?
For Rotigus I would probably use the one I used in my trolls vs Nurgle video, was a solid list for a very unsolid matchup. And for kings I would probably start with 2 groups of 5 kings, glottkin, 1-2 plague bearers. 1 drone. and move from there. Can add another group of kings if ya like, if ya do I recomend either lord of blights or plagues (whichever ya would prefer) to go with em, and Orghotts works really well in kings list as well. Also kings list are one of the few types of list where you can actively add rotbringer sorcers and probably be a 2-4 drop depending on how much tech you want to fit in.
You speak of taking either Horticulous or Gutrot + Creed, but never mention the option of taking them both?
Simply too many points invested if taken together?
I have taken them both! Usually only in a Rotigus list though, points are a bit tight sometimes

@@maxbarton613 Ive had more success with horti then gutrot, but gotrot is better against shooting. Horti is better all purpose and for the long game. Also I dont have a twitter but im going to have to make one I am coming to realize to help grow the channel
