If an ex BSB racer like Al finds this an intimidating ride, then it just goes to prove that these machines are not meant to be ridden my mere track day mortals like us.
kgjersda If we're being factual, it's his younger brother...yet to reach his full potential. And, let's be honest, Jason's shoes are not easy ones to fill. He's doing his best god damnit! jk
Pulllleeeeeeze - MotoGP bikes are far easier to ride fast these days. The old two strokes were men's bikes... No power limiting software on motors that went ape shit in a span of 1200 RPMS.
The one thing I realize about top notch racing gear is that world class equipment is really more about the stratospheric capabilities of the riders and drivers. 99.9% of the rest of us could never understand what the machine is capable of. And then there's Marquez, Dovi, Rossi and all...
When you ride a particular type of bike, in a similar environment, for lap after lap after lap, a LOT of those mind processes begin to happen 'automatically'... But when you go from a street bike -- no matter how good it is -- with a different shift pattern and levels of both braking and acceleration, then EVERYTHING has to be processed 'on the fly' as you go thru it! Every adjustment of the throttle, every squeeze of the brakes, every ounce of rear brake, different braking and turn-in markers, DOWN on the shifter instead of up, ...every adjustment at every point on the track has to be processed as an active conscious thought and action...and at a FASTER RATE because you are riding a faster bike! The only way to really 'compare' the bikes is to go 'piece by piece' as to how each change effects the performance of the bike...And which of those changes could still be used on a Street Bike..? It would be the same with cars... WHY and HOW is a RACE C7-R Corvette faster around a track than a stock Z06...and could you drive the C7-R on the street..?
This is a great analysis and echoes pretty much my own thoughts. Hence adding to your comment rather than making a new post. Fact is, it feels like they've missed a trick in not really comparing the experience of both other than some pretty obvious comments on cost and rider ability. What I really wanted to know is how the differences in both bike translates into speed and the difference in capability. The fact is, we already know there are a load of component differences - although it's difficult for the average rider to appreciate what differences translate most into performance. For example, if you took out all the unnecessary "Road weight" out of the R1M, it would be a far better performing bike than the road version. Add some slicks on a nice warm day and, Boom, performance just wen't up again. Add some BST CF wheels and... etc. So, as enjoyable as this video was, it's really a nothing as far as a real comparison between the bikes is concerned.
I remember when top superbikes back in the day were the 750cc and were making over 170hp. To think my street bike would have more power than that blows me away. Needless to say just an HP comparison not all the other super fancy tech stuff.
Cant help but feel, buying an R1M , CBR-RR-R , V4S/R , ZX-10RR etc , buying these bikes for the Rd .. its all bragging rights to a label MOST couldnt exploit anyway on any given day.
he wow such a cool leathersuit! I am looking for acamouflage but there is no company which is offering camou for me... where can I get this leathersuit?
Just to prove the point of the power of these kinds of bikes, watch James hillier run the ninja h2r for a lap around Isle of Man and you realize these riders are beyond mortals.
Racing this circuit on a video game, it is one of the most difficult circuits i have ever seen. As a result i dont think its the best for press reviews, because the journalists are more focused on not crashing than they are getting the most they can out of the bike
Bsb bikes have no traction control and have too much power really for mostly tight twisty British tracks wsbk tracks are a lot more wide open tracks which suit them better
what i did know that i do not wont to race on super bike that the ugly truth .... same thing hopping when i did jump from my triumph daytona 675 to yamaha r1
Should of asked the team y there doin so shit on a championship winning bike with one of fastest rider's in the world. Also did Al find this bike less intimidating than the BSB ZX10 he used to race?
For a minute I thought I was was watching 44teeth
dalogg2 How did you not notice that Baron wasn't there? You know, he's more than just excellent hair and velvety smooth, well informed commentary. jk
That’s why he pays to race bsb support races, shouldn’t even be there

That quick serie of apexes at 3:17 man.... pure gold !
Jason Statham has let himself go lately.

haha
No he’s not. He’s just some fat wannabe hanging around in rich pockets
Do we need the Jason Statham comment in every video this guy is in.
@@fs3994 this video is THREE years old.
That Jason Statham guy is everywhere...
Viktor Skarlatov just fatter
Makes you realise how gifted Rossi and the top Moto GP riders are.
try one of them around the TT course!! even better again!

yep for sure mental bastards they were.
Will Viljoen Take the electronics off and Rossi would be world champion.
@@ross5506 lol it would wheelie like crazy
3:10 , I don't think the average person realizes how much skill it takes to hit those lines THAT perfectly. These guys (and gals) are artists.

Great vid and great stat about 100% throttle. That shows the skills proper!! Fair play. Just shows how good the pros really are.
Very nice! A hug from Portugal!
Very nice and honest look at normal riders and racers and the tools of the trade.
If you're that inadequate, leave it to someone else...Laverty is an Also-Ran Notwithstanding !

It does go to show you. I like the looks of that track, though.

I'm a novice track rider,YIKES!! I can't even use all the bike I have now! My hats off to you all.
The skinny fella from FB was left wondering how he even has a job in the motorcycle industry. Good work Fagan!

More of this please!
More coming!
Please call JOSH BROOKES he dominates the R1.
When did he leave Tyco?
Good video. And cool to see Statham into bikes, didn't know he was a motorcycle enthusiast. Certainly has gained a couple pounds though.....
: ^ )
I was hoping for some times on each
Background music was good..loved it
he just flew away from there 3:13
so this is why we are waiting on the BB build on 44 teeth XD
Kind of a waste of time without lap times set by the same rider imo
those bike look insane !
Great stuff 😍
You probably rode it quicker than Michael Laverty did on it and his tyco bmw his last couple of seasons
Top vid lads respect to the boys scary shit !
Still not winning many races tho
Top riding al!!!!

20K FOR A SWING ARM!!?
yes, somewhat bullshit
When it comes to winning cash is king. My freaking bike cost $20K and people thought I was crazy when I bought it LOL
the suter cost 7.500 euros and the febur cost 5000 euros... 20.000 is too expensive but is posible
I expected to see 44teeth leathers. Haha. Oops.
British bikes are so cool...
I eeally thought it was an aprilla....lol
brilliant

Let Jason Statham do the talking
D. Bolt to fat to talk sense
Next up; MotoGP!
I think its skill, not talent, what you need?!
PaddyWestside agree with u
How do you make a clear definition between skill & talent?
Missy, talent is what you're naturally gifted with and skill is what you get for putting in the work.
@@Noin007 I reckon I'm inclined to agree, although I do feel there's a big grey area 'twixt the 2. Ain't that often the way?! :-)
