Realizing this year that life is short, things like candles/perfume/makeup/handbags/etc are meant to be used and enjoyed!! We never know how long we'll be here! Using these items in our life is better than treating them like museum pieces 😊
I felt the same way about my candle collection Teesha. But I have realized that I am allowed to enjoy burning my candles because life can be so stressful at times. Burning my candles relaxes me and takes the stress out of being a nurse.
I'm burning through my candles. I've realized it's been a problem for me, and I have soot on my walls, ceiling and it gets everywhere. So, I'm using them up and not replenishing. I'm probably down around 100 now from a peak of probably around 400. Then, when I'm finished, I'll have my house painted with Kilz to cover the soot and then paint the rooms the color inwant them to be. And no candle burning after that.
Even though I open a window my bedroom has the walls sooty due to burning a million candles so I feel your pain. I am due for a paint & carpet so it will be ok…..I guess
Hi Teesha! I’ve been away for a bit, and I’ve missed your videos (and seeing you). Was in a funk, but I’m back. I’ll be stopping by more. And I agree. I was really hoarding candles for a while. I had to take a step back (thus the UA-cam candle video break). I’m trying to learn to love candles in moderation, and like you, to not be afraid to burn what I buy.
It's what I'm doing this year. Burning older candles in my collection and ones I have multiple of ones. It comes down to space and If ever moving with a large candle collection it's hard doing so. Cuddle Weather is a great candle. My husband and I were feeling that way with Yankee Candles as all YC stores closed down up here in Canada where we live. However, we decided to burn them as we want to enjoy them. It's true....We treat candles like museum pieces. What I've started with candles that we've burned I've been peeling off the labels and started a scrapbook of them.
Ms. Teesha, thank you soooo much for sharing this timely video. I had stopped burning and buying sooo many candles for the past three months. I just needed a break. I learned it’s ok to buy only two candles of a scent instead of buying six. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ I recently bought some of the new candles. I’m going to try and burn more of my collection. And only buy new new. But I must admit, I have purchased 4 of the sweet red mango. It’s my must have. Again thank you for sharing and can’t wait to see you in the next one. 💜💕💜💕💜
Hi Teesha. You burned some great scents!! We are so similar in scent preferences! I have been all over the place in terms of what scents I have been burning lately! 🤣🤣. I have been burning a mix of winter, fall and spring scents. Lol. Just whatever I am in the mood to smell. I usually prefer to burn my candles seasonally but this year I have just been craving a mix of scents. I still love my gourmands but then I have been loving my fruity and masculine scents too. Cuddle Weather is such a cozy gourmand scent that I love too! Rosewater and Ivy is a beautiful soft, sweet floral scent that is addicting! I love it and I am not a huge floral fan in home fragrance. I seem to love a fruity & floral mix. 🥰🥰. I have been trying to enjoy my collection too this year! I am trying not to rush to buy all the new scents being released as they will always be releasing new scents with each season. I, like you, was holding on to certain scents & afraid to burn them & enjoy them because I only had one or it's not available anymore. 🤣🤣. I am realizing though that my collection is just getting too big and I had to remind myself that it's ok to burn them. I bought them with the intention to burn & enjoy them, so that's what I am going to do! Yes, they look beautiful sitting together as part of a collection but I am running out of space! 🤣🤣. Time to enjoy what I have and not buy so many backups. I will only buy one backup of a scent that I truly love now. Sometimes I think we just get so caught up in the frenzy of buying all the newness, that we forget to enjoy all the beautiful scents that we already own and maybe just came out last season! I know I am guilty of that! 🤣🤣. Happy to see that you are enjoying what you have too and buying less as well. It's hard to do at times because they seem to be releasing beautiful new scents or packaging! 🥰🤣🤣. Yes, that new jungle tropical scents and packaging are calling my name! They are gorgeous this year! 🥰🥰. I will buy a few of them to enjoy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and empties. It's great to see your face again. Sending my best wishes, hugs & love my friend! Enjoy your weekend. Take care and God bless. 🙂❤❤
That’s my mindset buy small like 1 of everything I have to move it in order to back it up But I’m like it’s wax burn it and get over it ….I understand some of the baddies I’ll buy extra but not afraid to burn no more ❤
I am the same way. I really only buy ones I love or are super unique .. so I have multiple in my favorite scents, bqut have a really hard time figuring out what or of i should burn. I'm trying to get out of that mindset as well and enjoy my collection..I have to keep reminding myself they'll come out with more I love..
Teesha...much like you sis I have a huge candle collection. I get so overwhelmed with fear of burning the collection...However, I had to make peace with the idea that candles are bought to experience as a candle burn! I look at my collection almost daily and charting down what I anticipate to burn (week, month, yearly, etc). If I burn at least a dozen candles in a month. I reward myself by adding no more than two new candles for purchase! So if I burn 24 I can can by 4! It works for me the biggest thing is accountability! That's why writing down weekly/monthly burns works. At this point there are no excuses because once its written, a commitment has been made. I am currently burning Kringle Cozy cabin at night, BBW 2 pink petal tea cakes, winter peach marshmallow, vanilla peach tea, DW birthday cake, Suntan, vanilla santal. That was such a sweet gesture from your students! I think I old you once before on a different post but I also do BBW bingo any form of care or candles to include but not limited to handsoaps, antibacterial! Thanks for sharing have an awesome weekend sis🥰
This year I've made the decision to focus on shopping my stash. I'm not buying 7 or 8 candles at a time anymore. I liked the new candles at BBW but I only bought 2.
Good for you! I get caught up in buying and don’t use up ones I have. I do use wallflowers so I smell those a lot. Enjoying the radiant sky and the honeycomb. Tfs☀
I’m currently burning pistachio + toasted vanilla, Pink rose & leather, Cuddle weather and In the stars! Fell in love with in the stars and don’t wanna burn it but got myself to use, trying to get through this collection like you!
Recently I decided that I have to burn all my candles. Because I might not like them and I want to be able to exchange them for something I do enjoy. I started to burn the Aloha Kiwi Passionfruit and Tiki Beach mashup candle I bought during SAS. I didn't like it. I thought I would love it but I gave me a metallic scent that made the inside of my ears itch. I know that sounds crazy but who likes the scent of metal? Endless Weekend did the same thing to me. I don't know what it is in those two that gives me that sensation. Well I had 2 Tiki Beach candles that I had been saving. Tonight I lit them and I'm happy to report that I love them.
I am still trying to burn my candles I started back in the fall, I have fall, Halloween, and Christmas candles that I started to burn and just haven't gotten through them all. I have far to many candles to keep up with but I am slowly getting through them.
Finishing some of my candles are harder than actually beginning burning them. Only because if I never get them again that last burn is the last time you get to enjoy burning that scent.
I don't have a problem with burning my candles, it's finishing them up. Same with makeup. Can't finish a lipstick to save my life (unless I have a backup. ) I have chilled the last ½ inch of a great candle and chunked it out to melt in my melter. Did the same with a particularly sooty candle.(I don't own a crock yet). I have too many wonderful burning candles to put up with one that throws up a bunch of soot.
Yes...I'm burning thru my stash...last candle sale I bought 3 and only because I had a 20% off...they always will come out with something new that I will like...(love Dream Bright🤍and have already bought one on the secondary market)...burning "Watermelon and Wild Mint"...strong...one and done for me🤷♀️

Enjoyed the empties. I’ve been burning a 2019 banana bundt cake and 2021 raspberry mimosa.
Thanks Teesha.. you encouraged me to burn my dream bright today

Love your system! Makes it fun to use up things you love!
I worked in a flower shop in high school too! Funny coincidence 😊
My twin! It was a fun job at the time!
@@TeeshaKeen I loved it! I got to do all the deliveries so everyone I dealt with was so happy to see me 🧡

I gave my Cuddle Weather candle to my sister with her wedding gifts & she doesn’t like it. How do I get that back😂 🤔

250ish candles here and I'm the same when it comes to burning candles.
I don’t have a single candle that I don’t plan on burning eventually.
🥳❤️😊
