A first for me as well , does the noise stay constant while its working ? Induction looks more sleek and smooth , I wonder if you get spills on tbose plasma nozzles how it would cope ? Does your induction hob have the power boost for extra heat required for the wok ?
The noise is constant, yes. The Chinese promo videos show people pouring water on the nozzles, so I guess they're OK. That induction hob doesn't have a boost, no.
It didn't come from Ali Express. It came from a seller in China, who we found on WeChat moments (which is like Instagram stories - but Chinese). Search for Shenzhen Komkia Technology Co., Ltd.
The PICC is 2800w. The induction, I don't know without taking it out. I see where you are going though: the First Law of Thermodynamics. To make the comparison fair, both hobs would ideally need to operate at the same wattage, and I don't know if they do.
@@ManchesterVacs 2.8kw is around 11.6a on your 2.5mm ring main, i suspect it would be less on the induction hob, which is why it reaches boiling slower. need the model number of the hob to look at specs really or try to measure current. I suspect the hob is lower as all 4 will be on the 32A 6mm2 to consumer unit. I like the PICC idea and maybe it is more efficient ? I hate cooking on electric hobs and find gas much more controllable.
That La creuset pot you used isn’t the best on induction as it’s only got a plate sandwiched in the base and has to heat the aluminium shell to use on induction and are extremely slow compared to try ply al clad or mauviel . I’ve got them and only use them on conventional ring !!
I bought 3 of them only to use to simmer !! Like making my porridge but have gone back to cast ceramic as I use milk and you have to be careful not to overcook or burn it !! I also at that time bought the triply ones which are much better for searing the chefs pans are a good size! I brought back a full set of Alclad triply from the states which are ludicrously expensive but you’ll never wear them out !! And lately on a whim I bought some triply mauviel, as I’ve got some of their copper ones, with ceramic nonstick as they were and still are on offer on eBay at a third of the price and must say buy them !! The best nonstick sauté and skillets I’ve ever used and at 70 now I’ve near used every pot and pan on the market 😵💫🤭!! I would send a link but your a tube doesn’t allow anymore !!
Very interesting 👌 I'm more interested in the running costs, how much electricity they use, how many watts ?
2800w.
@ManchesterVacs Thanks 👌
Great idea, all depends on price.
Any hob that sounds like a Eurofighter firing up for take off gets my vote.
Depends on the power of your induction hob, not all induction hob have the same power output.
I do like that plasma hob, looks pretty cool.
Big Clive needs to see this. My danger senses are tingling I wonder what the voltage between those nozzles and ground is.
What happens if oil or water spilling in the nozzles?
My only safety concern.
Many of the Chinese product demo videos show that, and it seems nothing happens.
I’ve seen many of these but always assumed they needed a gas line. Bloody amazing.
There are ones that take a gas supply too and just use a small electric feed for the ignition. But this one is all electric.

can you share the link to the product, nothing on aliexpress. Is it cheaper to run vs induction hob? Thank you.

Seem good....any idea of cost?
It's in the description.
It sounds like a brilliant idea for making chapatis as we electric cooker, the dont taste very nce. But this looks like a wondeful idea. Link please
There isn't a link, they are not exported yet that I know of. Search for Shenzhen Komkia Technology Co., Ltd. and ask if they ship.
What is the power rating of the plasma hob and what is the power rating of the single induction hob ?

Whats the price of 1 them serious piece of kit
Do you mind me asking how much that would cost? Thanks
It tells you in two currencies in the description below the video.

That's a good point. We have all Le Creuset, and although they claim to be ideal for induction, I've never been terribly convinced.

Wow I just checked they’ve reduced them again !! Type in mauviel ceramic !! The 28” sauté is now £27.99 from £160 🎉
On my Induction it took under 2 Minutes. German Powerhouse. 😊
If that's to boil a pint of water, that is fucking ages for induction. I used to have them at work and a pint of water would boil within 30 secs
It's pretty cool, but wildly unsafe. It's no surprise why it won't catch on over here.
It's no more unsafe than a gas ring.
How is it unsafe?
