What a precious little town! Looks like a great place to visit and maybe even live. Melody, you are a lady after my own heart! I love animals and have to love on every one I come across. Of course, I want to take them all home 😺🐈🐶 ❤
My wife and I were married in that church many years ago. Her mother lived in Mouth of Wilson. Beautiful country and at night so many stars!!!! Thanks for bringing back the memories!!
Thanks so much for sharing! I just found your video on Christmas in Appalachia on Saturday. My grandad's family was from Grassy Creek , they were the Cox and Phipps family. They moved to Maryland in 1942. I would love to visit sometime. I'm only over in Tennessee so I might have to check it out sometime.
I love old general stores. Grassy Creek is truly a beautiful place. Regrettably, the 10 years I lived in North Carolina, I didn't visit Grassy Creek. I love the Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, NC. Thank you for taking me along this wonderful adventure.
The Mast General Store in Valle Crucis is a must-visit place, from the time my mother would take me and my brother to visit family in Mountain City, TN when we were growing up, to the present day.
Awesome video. I loved the views, that store, and that pretty little church at the end. But I love how Melody made friends with the dog and the cat. It just shows what a sweetheart Melody is. 🙂
@@realappalachia Yup, I'm the same way. I was at a local festival today, which is one of my favorite festivals of the year. I saw a couple of nice dogs and made friends with one of them.
Glad to see you were in our neck of the woods! Our lavender farm is in Piney Creek NC. Not far from Grassy Creek. Our fall color is hitting peak this week. Seems like it came early this year.
Good to see you 2 over near my neck of the woods ,over at my neighbor county, beautiful Ashe county! Love the old store and the beagle and tabby cat, I'm like melody , I would be loving on the animals. Y'all ever been over to shatley springs, not far from grassy creek, and eat ,and get some of their "healing water"? Ya know, ashe county is one of the top Christmas tree producing counties in the united states, and I think I read that north Carolina is number 2 behind oregon in Christmas tree production..also the White House Christmas tree has come from ashe county a bunch of times.. y'all probably already knew all this ..I just ramble on ...haha...appreciate y'all...stay safe...God bless....🙏❤
Thank you, Ben, you and Melody definitely have that in common. We were talking about Shatley Springs during that trip, wish it was open. I was amazed to see how many Christmas tree farms we passed during the day there, beautiful county
There’s an old country store in kewannee Mississippi like that one. Hattiesburg is about an hour and a half from me. You can tell Melody is a kind person by the way the dog and cat interacted with her too. Thanks y’all for the great video as always
Yes, Melody is a gentle soul when it comes to all God’s creatures…except me, of course lol jk. We are both dying to go to Hattiesburg someday, heard how beautiful it is there
Thanks Shane & Melody for your latest upload. Scenery reminds me of the county of Essex in England. Really good having a browse with you around the general store . Looking forward to the next one . You are still one of the best 'teams ' on UA-cam.
Definitely check out Todd and West Jefferson as they are also in Ashe County. Todd has one of the most beautiful cycling roads in the country called Railroad Grade Road.
@@realappalachia Definitely! It has an interesting history and several historic buildings. Sadly the general store burned down last year but hopefully it will be rebuilt soon.
That general store is so boss. You both know how to handle this so well. The dog, cat and store is so beautiful like the country around it. Shane and Melody seem so Appalachia and fit in so well. Oh ya, you are both complete Appalachian. LOL Love you both.
That was really enjoyable. The Poochie and the Kittie... perfect! Thanks y'all.
