- Here we are using a technique presented by the Soap Challenge club a few months back. I talk a little bit in my video about why I don’t do the Soap Challenge Club, but I do love to track along with it and make soaps using some of the techniques. This is the “Splash Swirl” technique using neon/mica blends to get as vivid of color as possible! I really adore how these soaps turned out! It is only my second time using this technique, so I’m really tickled by the results! As you know, I do love creating rainbow soaps, so this perfectly fit the bill!
Cherry Bomb is scented in one of my most favorite scent combinations of black cherry and ginger ale. It’s so fizzy and bright and reminds me of a cherry limeade or Shirley Temple! It’s also one of my best sellers 🥰
What did you think of the cut? Did it turn out how you thought it would? What might you do differently in the future? What questions do you have? I would love to answer if possible :) I just can’t get over how gorrrrrgeous this soap turned out!

Thank u for what u said about the nurture soap micas I never used neons because I was always told they weren’t skin safe
They are safe in soap, but not for everything. Just have to check out which they are safe in!
@@clover.soapworks Exactly! Mad Micas has some neons [and greens specifically] that are safe in soap, but nothing else that goes on the body.
I soap in my shop, which is currently quite cold 😊. Love your vids. Thought about videoing my process as well but how to hide all the tools and shop equipment 😮? I like the camera above the table. Beautiful process. Bravo!
The best part of cleaning up is that it’s soap.
Try a mini whisk... make sure its stainless steel or silicone coated....that will help mix the smaller cups without bubbles.

Absolutely love your soap! How do you get such vibrant colors with colored lather/discolored wash cloths? I've been trying but even with the best micas my rainbows have lather bleed 😢
🤷🏻♂️ I just follow the usage instructions! Most on the website should say the amount to use! These are the EPIC collection from Nurture which utilize neons.
What size cups do you mostly use? I like the idea of using them cups but can't say if they are 8 or 12 oz

You had so much time to work with this batter. Is that your recipe that you always use. And I would assume a very behaving fragrance.
Yes, most of my soaps are my standard recipe. The fragrance plays a very large part in how long it takes to set up!
Have you tried using squeeze bottles to pour the colors. Just a thought.
I have! It’s just very messy and hard to clean! Great idea though!!
How do you stir for so long without the trace getting too thick? Is it the temperature??
This one is all due to the fragrance. It’s one of my decelerator combos 🥰

Specks in your color... means you are dealing with a pigment and not a mica. Try using water to mix the color and the specks will likely disappear. Mica disperses in oil, pigments disperses in water.

Your stick blender is so quiet I have the kitchen aid brand and it’s so loud I don’t even use it on the highest setting because it’s so loud and powerful lol it kindof scare me sometimes 🤣

Glycerin rivers really only happen when the soap heats and the water content is above 33%. TD used in oil doesn't really make glycerin rivers.
Yes, heat and water content. I would disagree about rivers though. They can still happen in TD used in oil and I have experienced them even with lye ratios as high as 40%. Tobacco Vanilla is a customer favorite that gets super hot and I still get slight rivers even at 40%.
