I was taught tabby was 1,3,5,7 ... 2,4,6,8. I didnt know tabby could be any different than that. Thanks for the info, I am confused but will work it out.
Tabby is technically every other thread, so since the threading on this draft is 1323 1424 the tabby ends up on 12 and 34. I'm glad you were able to learn something new. Thanks for watching ❤️
Not necessarily. The idea of tabby is to raise every other thread. Because the original threading in this draft is 1, 3, 2, 3 and 1, 4, 2, 4 I need to raise shafts 1 & 2 for one tabby and 3 & 4 for the other tabby. When I extend the threading to 8 shafts I just carry those up to shafts 5-8 the exact same way (1/2/5/6 & 3/4/7/8). I hope this makes sense. Thanks for watching and happy weaving.
I'm used to a 4 harness but have just bought an 8 harness. Thanks for answering some questions.
Glad you found it helpful. Happy Weaving.
Thank you! Just got an 8 shaft floor loom and this was very helpful!!!
You are so welcome! What kind of floor loom did you get? Thanks for watching.
