- In Hull, in the aftermath of summer riots that saw an asylum hotel attacked, shops looted, and cars burned, two strong feelings remain.
Resentment over a perceived strain placed on local services by asylum seekers and anger from the feeling that politicians are ignoring their concerns.
On this episode, Niall Paterson is joined by producer Sarah O’Connell, who recently visited Hull to meet residents who witnessed the violence in the city on 3 August.
They discuss how locals feel that they aren’t listened to, and the deprivation that some in the city experience every day.

Yes, she speak the truth. The anger truly does remain…!!!!!…🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
*English riots.
The fires are banked but the coals are red hot.
Trying to stamp on the person rioting is not going fix the problem. I have never seen a government so out of touch with the public. I have spoken to such a wide variety of people about their concerns and from white working class to two home owner university lecturers, asian accountants with a couple of properties, self employed earning 150k, all say that they are sick of immigration both legal and illegal. They see the culture of this country being lost because there have been 10 million people allowed to come here and we are changing to suit them rather than them changingto fit into a country.
Yes, people are very angry with both the illegal and legal migration into our country!. The riots may well have stopped, however the anger and fear remains!.
Yes the riots have finished but I don’t think we have seen the last of them.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I'm angry with mass imagination

Al Jazeera's Investigative Unit goes on the trail of The Minister’s Millions to find out how he built a half-billion-dollar property empire - on a thirteen-thousand-dollar salary. Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, a close ally of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, bought hundreds of luxury properties in London, Dubai, and New York, but declared none of them to tax authorities in Bangladesh.
