It depends on the positions of the planets in the chart and their strength. Sometimes, malefic planets can be beneficial in their dasa too, if they are strong in your chart. And sometimes the most benefic planets may ruin your life too.
It's really easy to say to someone they should do their own business, but the reality of doing one's own business is it's VERY EXPENSIVE to start a business in the USA. VERY EXPENSIVE! I would never go into debt to do my own business. A debt I would probably never be able to pay back. Debt is a type of slavery you can never get out of. I've been going through my Saturn Mahadasha for the past 7 years and have 12 more left. According to astrology I should not be working for someone else, but there is no way I would ever have that kind of money to start my own business. Yes, I hate working for other people, but I have no choice. Not everyone can take risks and taking risks with money is a bad thing to do in this economy. Also, women are still treated unfairly in business in the USA. We cannot get loans as easily as men and if we work for someone else we get paid very poorly and get treated like third class workers. So for women it's much more difficult in the work world, especially in the male-dominated corporate world. The way it is now, only the rich can do, be and get what they want and the rest of us will just have to settle for unfulfilling lives.

Getting a crappy job doesn't build a CV, do you think I can write I was a waiter on my CV when I have a PhD? The whole point of a job is to build a CV for the next job. I am not afraid of doing manual labour for poor wages, but it doesn't help my future saying I was a waiter when I graduated with a PhD.
With all due respect, I appreciate your sentiments, however some folks who ask this question have made a significant investment in their career. Outside of that I have first handily learned that once at a professional level it's actually very hard to go backwards. Many times I hear, "you will get bored with this job & leave", & then don't get hired. So when folks ask the question, maybe the semantics aren't as particular as they could be. I suppose what folks really mean to ask is, "will I maintain what I've worked for if I don't advance?", which is a valid question if you've worked hard to be at a certain level, have a mortgage etc. Outside of that I agree with your point that not everyone is meant to work for someone, though in some capacity we all do, at least via funding source & so on.

N - Yes it was... it was so accurate ( within days of when he predicted) that I was surprised. Not sure how he does it.
