Andika, I don't know what country you are but this is the joy of UA-cam. You can now see REAL Ruska Roma (russian gypsy) real Polska Roma (polish gypsy), Roman havasi (Turkish gypsy), Hungarian Gypsy, etc. all on the internet. Once you decide which style you like ... find a qualified teacher in your area. If you no teacher ... then follow along with the UA-cams.
you just summarised the whole definition of a gypsy: to do what you want, and not being bound by how the majority defines things. If a citizen wants to mix a style, he can't, if a gypsy wants to, he can, and he will.
Actually the Ruskie dancer, the Algerian dancer, and the french dancer doing Rajasthani style were doing authentic dances. You are right about the rest ... very "impressionistic" to say the least. It is important for posters to be more specific ... like say "fantasy character dance" or "folkloric Ruska Roma" or "Folkloric ghavazee" for example.
Hi there, I am a Romani ethnologist and I think what is pissing people off here is that this not Romani dancing. Romani dancing is not just heart and soul but specific steps and gesture that have meaning to them. This is why Russian, Spanish and Hungarian Romani dancing is similiar but different to non-Romani Russian, Spanish and Hungarian dance. If you look at Flamenco and Romans dance you will see the similarities, I don't see them here. Alot of dress waving with no Romani dance steps.
See below comment to Andika. UA-cam now makes it very possible to see the REAL dances of almost any culture ... including many styles of Romani (gypsy) dance. Spend some time researching and you will quickly learn the difference between real folklore and "fantasy impressionism". Also regional differences Ruska Roma vs. Roman Havasi for example.
can somebody tell me the name of the song at 3:20? Loving that, I think I have heard a song very alike named Crimean Sketches but I would like to make sure.
I think it's sad that we are attacking people for freedom of their expression. If it's choreographed, so be it. If you were to do a dance repeatedly and eventually do the same thing over and over again, then you would have choreographed it. I also see people attacking others for their "fusion" of styles. Everybody is so hung up on the fact that these people are not representations of what we were "taught" were Gypsies. Only the Gypsies can define themselves. Who are we to say they aren't?
thats so true i find u8t ddeply iifenive whn u watch programe thta dpite my cuiture we are nit like we are modest but libe ti dance and sghow of our heitage
actually as part romanay myself we dance from our heart and soul ok ive been dancing since i was young this i snit hippy shit there are tradions that each romany have ie differerent styles of dancing depending on were yoy
There's something I find a bit annoying about modern Westerners "trying" to do such dances, especially for a show or in a competition. They all look like they've come from some dance school in London or somewhere. There's that little authentic cultural something missing. I've been to small Slavic village bars and houses where purely amateur natives run rings around these pretenders.
This french woman are wearing the flamenco costume but not real flamenco dancing. In fact this french woman are flamenco mix with belly dancing with arabic music not the spanish flamenco guitar music.
these people dont look anything like indian, and this is really some creepy messed up shit, the only decent dance seemed like 6:34 which seems to resemble rajasthani dance and made some sense. i dont think romanis are from india, they are highly mixed up now, and purely european people.
Really? That is 1) a sterotype and 2) sickening you think thin people are fat. Sure they have a little chub, but that is human and normal. Not sure if you are human or you just lack sympathy and empathy.
@nynahk2011 thats cuz its overly choreographed, real gypsy dance is dance from heart YES!, not over planned.. And the latin fusion with flamenco singing, and barefoot FLAMENCO is also very annoying....

Looks like my grandma after too much wine.

¡Qué bellas, chicas! ¡Las felicitamos y les enviamos mil abrazos desde Colombia!
gypsies are all over the world - all sorts of cultural influences - but always exciting, passionate and yes, a touch of sadness.
Q hermosooooo! Me encantó! La danza es hermosa en general! :) Amo la danza!
Thank You SOOO much Isabel, I love all your dances and Stuff! Especially the belts with tassels! ^_^

From 4:30-6 and 6:30-7:41, I spot striking Indian tunes, moves and costumes. 6:30- 7:41 costumes are very similar to that of India
They are Indian gypsies.

Hi Jason, Carovana Tribale danced to "Sa O Roma" by Nomadiqa, "Tarantella del Gargano" by Cantodiscanto and "Lorke Lorke" by Helm.
Отличная подборка цыганских танцев разных народов! Жаль, что нет русских - самых зажигательных!!!

I Really Really liked the Carovana Tribale numbers, does anyone know the name of the three songs that they danced to?

Hello Ivanaymail. You can find Carovana Tribale video's on my channel. Thank you for appreciating.
Needs more braided armpits and moustache.

You guy's anger me very much this is not my gypsy tradițional dance
you come from ok i find it deeply offensive that gyspiuy i sued is travler or romany thank you
If you don't care enough to lose weight then you shouldn't dance. Sit down, watch the young, slender, pretty girls do it right.
You do realize that the gypsies communities come from India? That belly dance is danced without a flat belly right? The more weight the better
-Was this held in Europe?
-Because, I thought Europeans weren't suppose to be fat.
-I got nauseated.
