The members of the Sikh warrior Nihang Singh Khalsa sect are trained in martial arts and wrestling and are believed to be “Akalis”: those who have conquered death and are always willing to sacrifice their lives.
Sikhs give out free food (called langar), langar is Prasadam (also known as blessed food ) so they don't charge for it.
It is highly refreshing to come across people who are carrying out unconditional service to help the most needy in our society, may God Bless them all for what they do!!!

Nihangs, except having faith in one creator sustainer, take no cognizance of any earthly power, king or government, just like a chakravarti Samraat ( Emperor ) will have no superior to him in the world.
The Sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind, gave the concept of Miri Piri ( Temporal and spiritual power) told Sikhs to solve their matters among themselves and not involve government of the time. He build Akal takht in front of Harimandir Sahib ( Golden temple) and listened to the matters that were brought to him .
Guru Gobind Singh further sharpened the instincts of his followers and exhorted them to do everything that the Government of the time prohibited the common citizens to follow.
He exhorted his followers to wear and practice arms, go on hunting excursions, wear Turbans, ride finest chargers, keep hawks, stop paying taxes, in fact have all the airs of royalty while living like saints by remembering God at all time.
Sikhs fought hard and in a few decades wrested from Mughals / Afghans the big part of northern India, It was after centuries in that part of country when a Native power has uprooted the foreigners and taken power in its own hands, all due to teachings of Mighty Sikh Gurus.
Nihangs still carry those ideals, which are dear to them and they recognize no one as their superior. True Sons of the soil.
