I am from Zahedan and we have Identification cards from Iran but we keep indian passports so while traveling to India they provide immigration duration during which you need to come back to retain the identification card validity. Thanks alot for covering this region its nostalgic ❣️❣️

Looks like the Sikh gentleman is an OCI (overseas citizen of India). Most middle East countries do not give you a citizenship unless you are an ethnic Arab or Persian or Baloch etc. You will continue to hold the passport of the nation of your forefathers irrespective of the number of years you stay there. My wife was born and brought up in the UAE yet she holds an Indian passport.

Damm I got so scared when the locals asked him about his religious identity and giving him a Quran to read. Maybe if modern education is given to ppl then such things might not happen. It's really scary to travel in balochistan.Hope people of balochistan embrace modern education and move up the social ladder and make this place interesting and safe for tourists to visit.
@@sharathnair7885 There are two religious centers in Iran, Qom for Shias, Zahedan for Sunnis. I'm from Western Balochistan, belive me rest of Balochistan(specially the South) is not this religious. Zahedan is just one city, AND it doesn't represent whole of western Balochistan. You can feel and see Balochi culture, history, and tolerance in cities like Chabahar, konarak,and Iranshahr. Hopefully this youtuber visit them.
Very informative video. I am watching all your videos and have noticed that Balochistan, as compared to other regions, is less than developed in Iran. The roads, buildings and infrastructure show that it is poorly developed. Also good to note that a dozen of Sikh families are still living in Zahedan and other parts of Iran. The local elderly Sikh was correctly narrating that they are still holding Indian Passport, which is indeed a very unfortunate situation. Just to confirm you that it is not only in Iran that people are denied citizenship despite living in the country for such a long time, but it is a common practice in all Middle Eastern Arab Countries. There are thousands of Pakistanis and Indians who are living in Saudi Arabia for more than four decades, but still they are living on temporary residence permit, which is called IQAMA.
You are totally uninformed. The Sikhs and Hindus living in Iran could have taken Iranian citizenship but chose not to as Iranian citizens are required compulsory Military draft and they chose not to send their children. The reason for the dwindling numbers of Sikhs and Hindus are due to economics and not persecution. The communities left for better opportunities elsewhere. Just imagine a nice Gurdwara built and preserved since more than 100 years, says a lot about Iranian toleration.

Some reasons for being under developed. 1. Half the population ie, the women are locked up in the houses and not to be seen in the society and not contributing to the economy. 2. Instead of thinking about economy and development they are happy to convert some tourist to Islam. That is their ultimate goal. You don't develop when your mindset is skewed.

Zahid means holy or spritual person and Zahedan is plural of Zahid. Since they thought that these Sikhs with long beard and turban etc must be Zahid, they named this city as Zahedan. Sikh gentleman who was talking about Indian visa must be an Iranian national and originally an Indian. Sikh community mainly came to Zahedan from Un- partitioned India basically as railway workers when Britishers were laying railsay lines and afterwards the railway system was under their control. As therrcwas no railways in Iran, even since sbout 2 decades back this broad Guage railway from Quetta to Zahedan was under of Pskistan. Later on Iran connected it's standard Guage railway from main network up to Zahedan. Nice and interesting report from Iran by you. Congratulations and be safe and happy.
Zahedan is the plural of the Arabic word zahed meaning pious named upon the visit of Reza Shah Pahelvi and the railway line you have mentioned from Quetta to Zahidan were under British. Centuries back Zahedan Iran and India shared the border where Pakistan were not even existed. Thank You

The Sikh gentleman is correct. Every year we also need to extend our residence permit (Visa) from the Iranian authorities. Those foreigners having residence permit in Iran need to get exit re-entry visa for leaving the country from the authorities, and should return back within a period of 90 days. There are many Indian families in Iran who still hold their Indian nationality.

Looks like the Sikh gentleman is an OCI (overseas citizen of India). Most middle East countries do not give you a citizenship unless you are an ethnic Arab or Persian or Baloch etc. You will continue to hold the passport of the nation of your forefathers irrespective of the number of years you stay there. @@sharathnair7885 There are two religious centers in Iran, Qom for Shias, Zahedan for Sunnis. I'm from Western Balochistan, belive me rest of Balochistan(specially the South) is not this religious. Zahedan is just one city, AND it doesn't represent whole of western Balochistan. You can feel and see Balochi culture, history, and tolerance in cities like Chabahar, konarak,and Iranshahr. Hopefully this youtuber visit them.

Very informative video. I am watching all your videos and have noticed that Balochistan, as compared to other regions, is less than developed in Iran. The roads, buildings and infrastructure show that it is poorly developed. Also good to note that a dozen of Sikh families are still living in Zahedan and other parts of Iran. The local elderly Sikh was correctly narrating that they are still holding Indian Passport, which is indeed a very unfortunate situation. Just to confirm you that it is not only in Iran that people are denied citizenship despite living in the country for such a long time, but it is a common practice in all Middle Eastern Arab Countries. There are thousands of Pakistanis and Indians who are living in Saudi Arabia for more than four decades, but still they are living on temporary residence permit, which is called IQAMA.
You are totally uninformed. The Sikhs and Hindus living in Iran could have taken Iranian citizenship but chose not to as Iranian citizens are required compulsory Military draft and they chose not to send their children. The reason for the dwindling numbers of Sikhs and Hindus are due to economics and not persecution. The communities left for better opportunities elsewhere. Just imagine a nice Gurdwara built and preserved since more than 100 years, says a lot about Iranian toleration.

Some reasons for being under developed. 1. Half the population ie, the women are locked up in the houses and not to be seen in the society and not contributing to the economy. 2. Zahid means holy or spritual person and Zahedan is plural of Zahid. Since they thought that these Sikhs with long beard and turban etc must be Zahid, they named this city as Zahedan.
Sikh gentleman who was talking about Indian visa must be an Iranian national and originally an Indian.
Sikh community mainly came to Zahedan from Un- partitioned India basically as railway workers when Britishers were laying railsay lines and afterwards the railway system was under their control. As therrcwas no railways in Iran, even since sbout 2 decades back this broad Guage railway from Quetta to Zahedan was under of Pskistan. Later on Iran connected it's standard Guage railway from main network up to Zahedan.

Zahedan is the plural of the Arabic word zahed meaning pious named upon the visit of Reza Shah Pahelvi and the railway line you have mentioned from Quetta to Zahidan were under British.
