I think I'm an expert of Ostruppen, I owe some of that to HelpingHans. Ostruppen are best in 1v1 vs UKF and penal builds. On at least somewhat open maps, 3 ostruppen + sniper vs UKF is great. If it's obvious that an SU player is going penals (ie. bulletins), mg+ t1+ 4 ostruppen will hardcounter them. Exploit the slow penal start and rush an ostruppen + mg to the enemy cutoff, rotate injured ostruppen squads from the cutoff to cap back lines, keep exerting oppressive map pressure (as m3 and sniper are both poor choices vs ostruppen), while you are choking the cutoff. One map u can't go wrong on with ostruppen is Lost Glider. TRUST ME. The buildings are perfectly positioned for fuel & cutoff early harassment.

Definitely feels like you need at least one MG42 team for every two ost squads
Not a bad rule of thumb to work with.
Out of cover they have 1/3rd the dps, while moving (out of cover) they have 1/10th the dps. So dane is right, keep em in cover. :)
As i said, they can't hit the broadside of a barn from the inside :P
It’s easy, you go 1,2,3,then1,2and 3 into 42
They are not as strong as they used to. They are like a stationary version of conscript
