I use to take a group of high school guys to water falls once a month. Franklin was our 2nd. There was no snow at the road where we parked. We got to the head of the trail and there was snow. I told the guys there would be, but they still wore their jeans, vans and t-shirts. We eventually made it all the way to the falls. It did seem sketchy a few times and I even offered to turn around, but they were all determined. So it was a success without snow shoes or spikes. It's possible...just not wise 😂
