Same here. I was given the MOK mini as a birthday gift last week and am trying to figure it out. I see you’re using loopy pro. What all is connected in your setup?
That is true. In therms of making beautiful sounds synth is only the base for it. Effects are the clue. Love Microcosm possibilities. Hope someday I will get one
Amazing. I just stumbled across your channel as I start dabbling into mobile electronic music making (or however this stuff is called) after playing analog instruments for my whole life. I browsed UA-cam for about two weeks now and I honestly don’t know if I should be happy and thankful for your content or angry that this gem has only 1k subscribers while some completely musical idiots have 300k subscribers. Anyways, no bad vibes here … thank you for the inspiration ❤
So it is possible to use the Akai without any PC? What about Power supply? And since I'm on Android: are you aware of any good live looping apps (with support for external mic)? Thanks in advance.
It's the Akai mini play. It has build-in sounds and a mini speaker. It's battery powered or via USB an a powebank or so. On Android you need an 3-in-1 adapter and you can use koala sampler.
Just bought an Akai Mpk Mini, the same one you're playing, trying to learn and make some awesome beats, been out of the scene for awhile trying to get back into it
I love the theme, really very good. I'm not a fan of AKAI, but I must admit that you use it very well. Now if I liked the theme, I'm always amazed at your hardware arrangements: the iPhone, the AKAI keyboard, and what I assume will be headphones that are out of sight. Very nice really, thank you!
Question! Can you program the Play for different presets/ sounds that I can just use in a live environment with the keyboard? Or is that just the pad? I want to run a cable into my loop pedal and then run the akai into a regular sound system but I don't like all of the regular sounds the play has to offer...If you can't do this with the akai play, do you know a midi keyboard that does this?
Ok if I understand you correctly you want to have different midi / cc preset on each pad for controlling different instruments in your live environment. If yes, then no, Akai can’t have different midi sets assigned to pads. But nanoKEY Studio can do what you want. I use it as controller that triggers different instruments in live setup in my other movies
Amazing what you get out of this tiny setup. I just made a video using Loopy Pro today but never thought about going so minimalist like you did. Great job man.
I'm about to get this midi keyboard and i'm a complete begginer. Could you tell me what app and cables you needed to be able to 'store' your beats and have a few different beats going?
thank you so much for this video. i have replicated your setup and i am experiencing a noisy channel when the mpk is on. the noise also feeds into the iphone/ipad (loopy software). Even when the mpk gain volume is set to zero the noise is the same. do you know a work around please ? Have you experienced this noise with your setup ?
Hi can you confirm that your doing that without using a computer but straight to your phone? Can i ask a favour could you share the items needed to do that? Many thanks
Yes. It is made without computer. I am using: 1. AKAI mini MK3 Play, 2. Rode Ai Micro audio interface, 3. iPhone with Loopy Pro App, 4. Some cables, headphones. This setup is very portable and powerful in therms of music making 🤓
Amazing! I was looking for a way to do exactly this. Only problem is i'd like a cheaper solution than the AI micro. Would you know any cheap alternative? I thought maybe it's possible to route the signal to the microphone contact in the headphone jack of my android, but for this i'd have to make the signal much weaker (like with a make shift attenuator or sth, would you know of a serial build of sth like that?). Thanks for the great video! :)
I am not aware of cheaper alternatives unfortunately. But I heared that you can use headphones jack as input signal. But in that case you will lose monitoring
Yes, that is true - mini play is quite noisy :/. There was: El. Piano 1 (005), Tr808 Set (005), Picked Bass (035), El. Guitar (Jazz) (027), and for solo Voice Oohs (054)
Lovely vibes!👌 I just got Akai mini play and wonder how to record the internal sounds on Loopy pro? How did u set this up in Loopy and do I need external audio interface…
Love your beats ! How do you record your track ? Directly with the Rhode AI micro into your iphone ? Is the sound improved with the Rhode ? I see in an another video that you have the Behringer UM2, is this interface work well with a ipad and the sound is improved ? I want a tiny budget interface that sound good for Garage Band and Korg Gadget 😉
Hey. Rode and UM2 are great interfaces, but they are not improve sound as they are. You need add some internal effects in Loopy or other DAW to have this sounding as you want. For UM2 and iPhone setup you will need external usb power

You can have all of the best hardware and software, but talent trumps all of that. You are definitely a talented musician. This song is fantastic.
Thank you 😊
I just bought an Akai Mini and trying to learn how to use it, this has inspired me!
Good to hear that ☺️

@@bst2664I got mine as an early X-mas present last X-mas. Hehe
;3 The Akai MPK Mini is the best selling mini piano, and it's great in sounds, and in looks. To each their own. Hehe.
Jeez everyone wants the latest gear the best software the perfect plugin...
You're just blasting all that with stock midi sounds 😮
Please teach us 🙏😍
😀
I love this, your music is absolutely beautiful and ambient!
awesome!! i love your live loop sample using akai play!! i look forward to your next sample!! thankyou!
Beautiful! With some nice FX, the mini play is great, I use it with the Microcosm for some instant ambient textures
That is true. In therms of making beautiful sounds synth is only the base for it. Effects are the clue. Love Microcosm possibilities. Hope someday I will get one
Very cool, thanks for sharing ✨🙏
So great need one of these

I believe will slowly move forward 😎 That was thing that motivated me to start my channel “hey! I could make better and smoother melodies” ha ha 🤓

Very inspiring and relaxing, good work dude!

Thank you. And also there is Rode AI Micro audio interface in this particular set
This won't work on the new mark 3 Mini. It only has a USB port, no headphone jack.
I like it! 👍🏻
Would this work with an ipad air 5 ? It should i guess. Im not sure if the ipad would power the ai micro
Yes!!! So dope!!!

@@coffebeats Thanks!
I know akai and your phone. But what is the other device with wires you have on the table?
This is Rode AI Micro audio interface for iPhone
Well played sir.
Please could you share what preset you used on the Akai here? And where the “rymdigare” experimental reverb is coming from?

Sounds are basic I must say but with some effects they make work done 😉
cool.
what's the app ?
It is Loopy Pro
I'm about to get this midi keyboard and i'm a complete begginer. Could you tell me what app and cables you needed to be able to 'store' your beats and have a few different beats going?
Basically you will need only mini-jack cable and audio interface suitable for your device. And of course headphones.
Loved it. Subscribed.❤ keep up the great work
Thank you
What all do you have plugged into your phone?
It is Rode Ai Micro audio interface to have AKAI sounds into it and monitoring in my headphones
What is the adapter on the right side, the connection between phone and the Keyboard?
It is Rode Ai Micro audio interface. It is handy because it is small and can be powered by iPhone
Thank you@@coffebeats
Como se llama el aparato pequeño que usas esta en Amazon?
I thing you are asking about Rode Ai Micro. It is audio interface for iPhone
What of the Internal instrument sounds did you use here?
Can’t remember. Need to check
Nice work bro! 😊 Is anyone have a solution for Android users? Any application that will work with the Rhode AI? Thanks
I think there is Fruity Loops and Koala for android users
@@coffebeats I'll check this out. Thanks a lot! 🙏😊🙏

nice
how do i loop and overdub on my akai mini play ??
You need external looper like iPhone with Loopy Pro or Boss RC-202. Akai don’t have looping possibilities
What app do you use on your iPhone to loop?
It is a Loopy Pro
@@coffebeats Thanks. I downloaded it to my iPhone. Now I just need to practice

Yes, RODE Ai micro works with computers too
This sounds noisy, but not the same noise as from my Mk2. Which imstruments you used?
