“Play With Fire” is still one of my top favorites by you. Allowed me quite a bit of creative freedom through my art 😊, along with your Warplanes album!
this choreography was made to express hyunjin's story. he's had that "prince" nickname even before they debut. people told him that he doesn't need to work hard as much bcs he can debut with just his looks. bcs of that hyunjin worked really hard to improve, later then debuting as one of the lead rappers and main dancers of skz. this choreo represented him breaking out of that "prince" title. you can see him removing his cape first, then his shirt untucks, the buttons of his shirt unbuttons one by one, then the ribbon on his hair. he shows us his raw side, beyond that prince that only has good looks. Later we also see the appearance of a white rose, which is a symbol for a new beginning. 😄 he is so talented indbdbrienckenfi😭 p.s this is my personal take on this!! english isn't my first language so im sorry if there's some misunderstandings regarding to my original comment! let's hope to have a hyunjin vlive where he can explain the meanings behind this choreo himself! 😄 ❣️🍀
yes! like you said, he was always told that he'd make it because of his visuals and he didn't like being recognised only for the visuals and not his talent. So we really only see his reflection in the mirror, and throughout the performance there isn't a clear shot of his face, it's always obscured in shadows or behind his hair. So we only get to focus on pure talent. Just his dancing. There's raw emotions which have us on edge, hooked to it.
you nailed it man! Its the urge of wanting to do something that was put on stop for a while that when it got resume every emotions flows in every movement that he shows.. Its like a burning passion that was suppressed and once unleashed bam! Hits like a bomb!
This is one of the reasons as to why he’s such an amazing dancer AND performer tbh. Hyunjin is so carefree with the way he dances and moves and I think it’s evidently seen during this dance choreography of his, I love how he just moves the way he wants to and isn’t ashamed to dance more femininely because it definitely adds to the feeling of his dance and it feels like to me that he also has embraced his androgyny and made great use of it. He’s truly amazing :,)
I had tears cause i didnt realise how much i missed his dancing. I feel that he is conveying that no matter what, he knows what he is great at and he will continue doing it. It seems that he has improved to say the least. Our king will not fall ever so easily
I like that the longer the performance goes on, the more dishevelled and wild his dance gets, at one point becoming kind of animalistic before coming back to more controlled movements and expression, only to be 'trapped' again by the end (the hand around his neck is seen at the very beginning and very end)
I love it when Hyunjin is getting compliments...I'm literally watching every reaction video just to hear him getting compliments and that's the same to all skz mv's and performance because they deserve all the love and those compliments😊😊😊
This is what I think- He's trying to apply that whoever tried to pull him down will not able to, b'cuz he's already been there. And at the end where he ch0k3d himself, I think he's trying to say that to all the antis don't need to waste their time setting him on fire. He's used to it... He can do that to himself, it doesn't burn him anymore. Like the chorus said "I've always love to play with fire" BURN THEM HYUNJIN!! 🔥🔥🔥
his stage presence is on another level entirely ive rarely seen someone with that much charisma before. that combined with the fact that he's not been dancing for very long really shows he's made for performing in my opinion
Hyunjin Is the main dancer of the 4th generation of kpop. Hyunjin not only dances, he creates his own choreography, and really conveys the feeling of the song, he makes you feel what he feels ... not just a skill, he has a gift
I'm a big fan of hyunjin. But I'm really happy to see someone who don't just appraise everything but rather actually disect it properly. I love hyunjin and i believe he'll become a great artist one day. And thank you so much for your honestly

hyunjin is phenomenal. he’s so incredibly talented and has so much passion for what he does, it’s amazing. he blew my mind with this, and it really demonstrates his growth as a performer and as a person over his hiatus. i have so much respect for him; not only has he improved his dancing over his break, but he’s done service to help his community, and even picked up drawing, a skill that was relatively new to him before his hiatus. THIS is how you make a comeback; he’s showing us the best version of himself he can be, and he continues to leave me speechless with the amount of grace, confidence, and humility he’s doing it with. sorry; needed to word vomit because he just completely blew my mind with this!
I loved this video!! 4:25 reminds me of when Hyunjin once said "When I think, “At this moment when I stopped dancing, someone is practicing hard”, my footsteps naturally go to the practice room. I think if you want to not fall behind you have to keep going" and also "I hope people who can't express themselves with words like me can express themselves through something else like writing or dancing, or something they like" that was what you mentioned :)
The contrast between the fluidity and the insane pops was just captivating. And I loved hearing your thoughts on the artistic side of things, thank you for that!
hyunjin's versatility is INSANEEE this literally the same guy who choregraphed a dance for when the party's over and its the complete opposite of this... hyunjin proving his deserved skz main dancer and 4th gen it main performer/dancer title.
Did anyone notice how in a one of the shows stray kids was on Hyunjin was saying how he wanted to keep it a safe show and asked for tape so people could see as little skin as possible and they gave him a blanket and then when this cover came out his shirts as literally threatening to come off.
