I learned that God doesn't always speak to you in an audible voice. Sometimes he uses other people or prompts you to read the bible just like what happened to you. I'm so glad you were able to return home!

It can happen just from exposure. I'm American and my American family tell me I sound Aussie, but Aussies notice my American accent and event think I might be Canadian.
I wish I could make the difference bcuz I'm not an English speaker 😭
