  • Hello everyone, welcome back X-Machines channel.
Wire rope is several strands of metal wire twisted into a helix forming a composite rope in a pattern known as laid rope. Therefore, wire rope is also known as a complex mechanical device that has many moving parts all working in tandem to help support and move an object or load. Wire ropes are largely used in marine environment for rigging purposes or in the lifting industries. Wire rope is attached to a crane or hoist and fitted with swivels, shackles or hooks to attach to a load and move it in a controlled matter. It can also be used to lift and lower elevators, or as a means of support for suspension bridges or towers.

At one time this stuff used to be made here in the USA I know because I used to make the cable I was what they called a strander operator and I also used to run a planetary to make ship cable. But that was in the '70s. That was the one of the best jobs I ever had dirty but that was okay I loved making cable the name of the company I work for was Edwards wire rope South San Francisco California next door was Bethlehem Steel and US Steel. A lot of these companies disappeared because wire rope from China was cheaper than what we can make it.

Time you got an engineer on the camera work. More time spent on manufacturing, less on peripheral stuff. Arty short scene times send science people mad.
