Thanks for this tutorial! I'm new to watercolor and recently purchased size 8 and size 12 brushes. For some reason, compared to the size 12 brush, size 8 brush seems to separate while i try to do c-curls to make leaf shapes... not sure why - do you know how to fix that?

It might just be that your brush isn’t wet enough, or it could be the quality of the bristles. Is it natural hair or synthetic bristles?

Hi, I have a problem with the brushes I bought, it said they were for watercolor but even using them one time they loose the round perfect tip they had at the beginning - even while I was painting with watercolor, on the first stroke or the first time I put the brushes in the water, they never have that shape again. They started loosing/ bristles and having a “loose” shape (sorry I don’t know how to describe it, english is not my language. I hope you get it and can help me. It’s me not properly treating my brushes from the beginning or they just not for watercolor?

could be the quality, for a beginner cotman or princeton make a great variety, have had for years with no issue. also how you clean and reshape when done painting.

At 5:08 - why did you waste all the paint on the brush?? Could've just wiped brush against side of palette. Not criticizing, just hate to see good paint go to waste! Also to tell others NOT to do this!
