LPT: before painting the wood use wood glue and glue them together. Wood glue works on a molecular level, which makes it impossible for them to separate again. Then paint afterwards. Otherwise this project could easily fall apart, and is more likely to happen.
Flipping the Folk Art paints that are on their sides around so the butt of the bottles facing out, is a great way to see the exact colors at a glance 😉
I love it! My husband and I are retired and live the FT RV life! That means a lot of shuffling around of stuff and trying to max every available space. This is a great idea for smallish items like spices or medicines or anything, really, that can be reduced to that size! Paper clips, hooks, small sewing kits…I would consider making some little drawers out of chipboard, which instantly opens even more hangable options! Thanks again for the great ideas!

Helpful hint: For the larger acrylic paint bottles that you have stored laying down, you can paint the circular cap top with a bit of the paint in that bottle and that way you can easily see what bottle to pull.

It could also be interesting to sink some super strong earth magnets in the sides of the boxes so they held tight, but were easily un assembled for later re configuration, or just to grab a section of paints for a project.

I have 4 of those crates just sitting waiting for me to do something with them, so here it is. I have a ton of those 2oz paints, Amazon sells them for .50+ so I buy them when they're cheap. You just have to keep an eye out for them. I'm going to paint mine white and use E6000 to glue them together. I'm also not going to put the bottom base on so I can expand by adding more to the bottom. I think I'll start with 3 rows and 3 down so 9 crates. I've been dreaming of starting a Nuvo drops collection and this would work for that as well, without the dowels. Thanks for the hack.
