I mean he did... consider the impact that the race had on his brand. Around half the country won't step into a Trump hotel/casino because of his political stance. You don't think that's detrimental to a brand? Had he lost he would have spent loads of money on the campaign to walk away with a hurt image and brand. He had everything he needed to live lavishly for the rest of his life having grown a successful business like his father wanted.
