I developed some sort of fanatism for Thalys numbers. I loved Thalys trains since I was a very small boy, I just recently found a picture of a very young me standing next to 4306 now that I’m a train driver myself, working in Cologne, I came across exactly that set. Amazing to see that these are still in Service. 4332 is another one of my favourite sets, as I traveled on it to Paris. Thalys is an amazing brand. Would love to see a Thalys duplex one day.
Super. Thanks, it reminds me my travel Brussel-Paris-Brussel in 2018. As for the autor, I will never get tired of train travel but, here in Canada, we are still in the stone age when talking of trains.
Free or nearly free travel with one of his family members working at SNCF. Someone working for the railways gets free train travel for him, his partner and kids. Thalys here will be around 10€ to 20€ for Paris-Brussels.
I've found this channel because if the IZY Trip Report and I love it! Sometimes some of the comments on the trip have poor grammar, not a problem for me but might catch the eye for someone. Keep up the good work!
@@hoof2001 No sorry. He is correct and I comment as a native speaker who currently teaches English as a foreign language. It is “some of the comments...HAVE poor grammar”.

I'm going to Europe for the 1st time ever, and I'll be by myself too. I'm so nervous. I'll be going the opposite way though. Brussels to Paris. Thank you for this insight on Thalys.
Haha I am a foreigner and when I stepped out of the station, the first thing I saw was a person spitting on a policeman. But I still felt in love with Paris, its definetely one of my favorite citys.
ICE trains are much better than Thalys/TGV. On Brussels-Cologne and France-Germany (via Paris Est-Strasbourg), ICE clearly is the better choice. Coaches are not that narrow, seats are wider, restaurant car is better and cheaper and they are much cleaner.
One technical question: when the train exits the high speed line in Brussels, does it switch from 25 kV to 3 kV (which would make sense, since the tracks become shared with all types of trains near and at the station), or does it remain on 25 kV catenary?
At the beginning of the video you said the main stock is the same as the TGV Réseau, but this isn't true. Thalys tries to use the PBKA trainsets as much as they can, but they sadly dont have the budget to buy more of them, which is why you sadly still see a lot of Réseau-style sets on their routes.
Your reviews are really nice! And this channel is absolutely great! You have a new subscriber!... Why don't you come to Italy to try the frecciarossa or Italo?
But Air France take it off the Brussels-Paris plane route, and insetad they put this train with a flight code conseidering that many people used it. They still having a flight route between this two cities?

"dear travellers, welcome aboard. For the sake of everyone's comfort, we invite you to use your telephone on the platforms located at the entrance to each car" I don't get it, is there a restriction where I shouldn't use my phone?
Excellent video… one point: the entrance at the begining of the video is not the new main entrance for Long distance but for suburbs… (Transilien and RER). the Whole Station experience will change soon as they will reconfigure the entire station for olympics 2024
0:30 Don’t worry, many tourists will not see this when arriving at Gare du Nord. They only see a lot of graffiti when their train runs through the suburbs and then the long lines at the ticket machines for the Métro. 😉 Their first glimpse of the city is when they get out near their hotel. I must agree that Thalys offers a great product. The trains are a bit worn though. When I compare them to the Eurostar e320 and freshly refurbished e300 trains, I like the Eurostars better.

I travelled on Thalys last summer and loved the journey. Thanks for bring back some great memories.
I found this channel 2 days ago. 1 word: AWESOME! I love your channel! Watched like 10 of your video's already :P
This train is so nice; I think it is the best you have reviewed. The red color, and that bag of yours in bright red. perfect

This is the best train review channel ever never have I come across a channel so good next you should try Ireland the trains are Okay
Finally made it on the Thalys! Hope you enjoyed your trip 😁 Sorry to hear your brother was on the Thalys during the attacks.
Thalys do seem like a good train operator
Yesterday First time travelling with the Thalys back from Paris to Aachen. Perfect Train , come Back to Paris with Thalys in June 😀😀👍
Can you make one of Spanish's Trenhotel please? Funny thing: I'm from Spain and I want a review of a train of my country 😂
I'll make a trip report in May but not with trenhotel, you'll have to wait :)

Yes, the exit of Gare du Nord isn't the best representation of Paris
Excellent trip report sir !!! Looks pretty good " Thalys" Just have got book ahead...

This train does 300 km per hour. Does Paris cdg to bruxelles go faster
All in all it’s a very good tripreport!
Somtimes you forget the 3rd person s in the English language.
Is it possible to choose a specific seat (i.e. forward facing, window) in Thalys?
Another great video 😎
@@SimplyRailway Merci. Donc sans anglais, c'est remarquable. Peut-être à cause du brexit :-)
can i use Thayls from Paris CGA to Brussels Midi? where should i go? is it in terminal 2 or? thank you

I think yes, just ask to
iam going from paris to brusseles midi soon, may i ask u how can i go to the grand palace ? do i have to catch another train to brusseles central ?
You have to change and take a train bound north to Brussels almost all trains stop there

So let me get this straight.
the RAIL OPERATOR (not the train manufacturer) is SNCF?
and then TGV is the line name?
And If so then who is the train manufacturer? I mean, i don't even know who made the Eurostar classes.

Who built the TGV trains and what are they even called .-.
The name of the train manufacturer is Alstom.
