Dont get me wrong, this video helped me and several other videos of your have helped me in the past but you seem like your kids hate doing these videos lol as if you're forcing them to be on camera
@@MaxSpeedMediaLive I can totally appreciate and relate to that. Watching this video now to learn about the SSR125 I just picked up for my daughter. Have to admit though, when she and I take the carb apart, I’ll pretend to already know what I’m doing lol. I mostly already do, been riding and wrenching on my two and four wheel toys for 35+ years, just came here to watch one done on a SSR before opening hers up. Thanks for posting this video, and keep up the good work Dad! Making memories with the kids is where it’s at.
Man you helped me a lot, i had bought a new carb and almost thought trow it back, and now my bike work great then ever :D I´m glad you take time with your sons, thats someting they will never forget. +1 subscriber.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I've had my SSR for like a year and have had to ride with choke wide open whole time until now Super Easy I did the repair myself before adjusting idle speed I was able to close it 50% (before even closing it a teeny tiny bit it would die) after repair and adjusting idle speed I can close it 100% and it stays running. Also has WAY more power now! Only thing I need to figure out (maybe regarding idle speed, not sure) is it seems to have a delay now, between when I give it throttle and when it reacts to it, but I'll try to figure that out tomorrow. Thanks Again
My pit bike is doing the same thing but never move because my choke is keeping the bike on and applying gas it shuts off and i think the small jet needs to be poked through with that twist wire i didn't have wire like that to clean and hope this fixes my bike.
So I have owned one of these SSR 125 pit bikes for a couple of years now and I just have to say that they never made the video of the bike running crisp because it is nearly impossible for these Chinese POS carbs to run crisp. You have to just work with what you got and run a ratio that is the best. Either too lean or too Rich. One thing that i will say is that these bikes take for ever to warm up! waay longer then any other bike i've owned and they run different and in my case a lot better after they are FULLY warmed up. I love mine its great to mob around on. NOTE: before going on a ride just do an overall check of the bike. my exhaust has fallen off, my motor mounts have come loose, my front wheel has come loose, my chain guide has come loose, my swing arm adjustment screws have come out. my seat bolts have come out. even though they are super fun bikes, they are CHEAP bikes make sure you don't hurt yourselves on them.
Agreed. They are cheap bikes. The first thing you need to do when you assemble a new bike is double check all the bolts. Also check them on a regular basis like when you change the oil.
Breakdown start to finish before you begin this process and show the whole process. Have a taotao 125 and having a carb issue. Cannot get it to run correctly.
I got the same bike, you guys mind telling me what size main and pilot jets your using in your carbs, mine has a 35 pilot and 92 main, but I can't seem to find a good tune for it, I can get it to idle like a champ but when I go for a ride and it reaches operating temp (choke off) when I try n give it gas it will bog out, my spark plug is black, you guys mind telling me what u have your mixture screw and idle screw set to? Would really appreciate it
Ao i have a thing that when i turn on the bike (good weather) the sound is really weird and it sounds like it is slowly dying and the rev isnt as high and then if you rev, shift, or just wait it turns off
I have a few more questions in regards to the CARB on the SSR. My Son is riding the 110. Is the Choke OPEN position when the lever is horizontal and flat? or is it Open when the Lever is pushed downward? The engine dies if the lever is in the horizontal position, unfortunately the poorly worded owner's manual doesn't say what position is open choke and what is closed. Second problem is we're getting fuel overflow while he rides, which leads me to guess Choke is open and the carb is taking on too much fuel, but when I close it the engine dies. How would I fix this?
Does the kick down stand have a cutout switch on it and also does your rear brake master cylinder have a bracket connecting of it to connect to the bike frame ? Cause my master cylinder not fitting provolone like bracket or something missing
Hey, Bro, what year is this bike? The reason I ask is because I just bought this same bike off of Marketplace, and I can't figure out the year. Knowing the year if your bike will help me out a bit more.
@@MaxSpeedMediaLive oh, man, thank you for replying. They are runners, Bro. I just picked one up for $80; it runs and drives beautifully, and just needs some cosmetic stuff. But if it's worth doing, it's worth over doing, lol. I'm stripping it down, and having the frame, and swingarm powder coated, buying new plastics, graphics, and inverted Forks for her. I would like to send you before and after pictures.
I've been having problems with my pit bike, it idles fine with choke on but once I turn it off it Boggs out. If I try to keep it on it back fires n sounds nasty, idk what the problem with it is. Also the tip of my spark plug was burnt. Any ideas
Max Speed Media I cleaned out the jets yesterday, but haven't checked out the filter. I'll do that a in a bit. It was running excellent then it started back firing and turning off n now just can't take choke off it it Boggs out. Just odd I'm gonna go fill it up and check the filter
Max Speed Media if I can't figure it out by tomorrow I'll post a video of it, I need to fix. I'm gonna be using it for work haha so I'll need to fix ASAP, I close so I go in at 4pm n out at 2am may start posting put bike adventure videos of me coming and going to work haha
+bravodylan1 It may be the CDI box which is under the seat. If that goes out, it won't start up, no spark and will die. Check for spark and if no spark replace the CDI.
Mine was dying after i turnd the choke off, i added more fuel to the ratio cause i thought it was running lean, now it idles fine after i turn choke off but it dies when i come to a stop after riding for a bit, still a bit lean? Or ingota do some adjusting? Or is it something internal
Max Speed Media it's a 2 stroke yz85, alot of people tell me 2strokes arnt suppose to idle properly as they are race bikes an are suppose to be ridden at high revs? Hence the reason for dying at idle lol
Question, my ssr 125tr is leaking gas straight through the carb and out the overflow tube even when the bike isnt started. i turn the fuel on and it just starts pour out gas, any ideas here?
asvpxdblock it could have a drain screw at the bottom of the carb. Follow the tube that is dropping the fuel back to the carb and if there is a screw tighten it. :)
Maybe the gasket? Mine did same after opening my carb because my gasket got stretched tried to put it back in properly but I need to change it, leaks like a mofo when tipped slightly to the side
I have a Stomp 140 with carb problems. it's got a 26mm Mikuni carb. it runs and goes fine but when I give it more than 3/4 throttle it sounds like it's hitting a rev limiter. I've tried adjusting the air/fuel mixture. it's on the middle clip on the needle and I've tried lifting and lowering it one clip the re adjusting the air and fuel screws but still does it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
Mtb Ridingog whats up my dude, jus so you not mis informed or misinforming others... yes i wouldnt recomend spraying carb in a running engine if u dont know what your doing, but it is a way to clean out gunk from the carb an inside the intake an as long as u spray inside the carb/throttle plate, rev to 3000 or so, you have no worries. we use carb cleaner to spray n engines all the time to get them started an n the shop when they have bad fuel pumps or other fuel delivery issues etc. peace, safe riding champ
Carter Hope I had the same problem. Checked my jets and they were clean. But I noticed my float was not adjusted. It was closing off the fuel before it reached the level mark. It was starving for fuel! Bent the needle tab and it now runs without the choke! Who knew?

I’m having same problem wouldn’t stay started when Chile was off or in gear so I replaced the carburetor now it won’t start at all smh
I've always wanted a ssr 125, my current dirt bike got stolen so now I'm going to be saving my money for about 3 years.
I have too for 3 years😂 its kinda sad thoo
Mine dies when I give it more then 1/4 of throttle if that but runs fine if I keep it in that range

Watch the vid he explains 1 to 2 full turns out
I have a bike like this one and I have reg hang for a couple of seconds....could that be a dirty jet or something?
There is a flat head screw driver to get at the fuel mixture screw it's called a right angle screw driver
My brand new carburetor is only running on choke what could that be

Yeah...word of the day.
What are your thoughts i have air. Coming out of the carb intake so it doesn't hold compression like not should
What if I have a brand new Mikuni carburetor? It is not trying to kick over and it only started with the choke on, it is brand new...
hi can you buy a ssr exhaust from ebay or Amazon and review it please I want to buy one but I don't now if there good or how they sound
ssr pitbike adventures just buy it they are $60 for pipe and muffler get big bore
Just keep the stock one unless you can afford a fmf slip on
The cheap unbranded exausts are trash
You can use a screwdriver bit head and twist it with your thumb and pointer finger instead of a screwdriver with a handle.

When I try to run my pitbike won't start. What does is that the gas flow into the air filter! How do I fix it?
Should the wire run completely through the pilot jet or is mine just completely clogged?
It should pass through completely otherwise how would the fuel get through. The wire used must be smaller than the jet opening.
What year is this
I have the same bike but can you do a vid of what to use if you lost you gas cap
i think they want you to use one of those angled screwdrivers like a allen wrench but that would be tedius lol
Thanks I'm going to try this later today
try a quater drive socket with a flat head bit in it

do they come with electric start
wolf gaming03 nope
The full autos do but the semi and manual don't
You didn't tell us any of the steps you took to get the bike to idol properly after you put the carb back on

SSR 125 Pit Bike.
Is that a 26mm carb?
must be.
Lol I wish it was the easy to get the carb out on my Kawasaki klx 140G

I changed my carb but it still wont work
how much does bike cost you ?
