Removal and Installation of Chevy Suburban, Tahoe, GMC HMI unit ( Human Machine Interface ). Black Display and no Functions but has Sound.
Great video man!!
Is that where onstar module is located at also??
Nice work
Is this where you'd tap into factory speakers with loopback harness?
No. If your car have an amplifier, tap into speakers where the amplifier is located or the back of the radio/CD player.
solved my problem
Can the HMI make the turn signals go out and interior lights and AC not blow
If installing by myself, who do I call to program it?
You need to take your car to GM dealers for programming.
What is the avg cost to repair this unit? My Yukon started doing this exact thing today where the screen still backlights and the reverse camera works but nothing else does. Thanks so much

Good.
Is this the same for 2017 GMC Acadia?
If it looks about the same, it would work.
Came here to see how to disconnect the cables. He did that off camera.
Each connector has a small clip. Push the clip inward with a small flat screw driver then pull the plug out.
What do I need to remove the plugs from HMI
Just small flat screw driver.
What on this requires programming? It’s a radio module. If I get a used unit from a same trim model would I still need programming?
