This weeks BIG 4 drum cover is WAKE UP DEAD from the mighty MEGADETH!
This track come from my favorite MEGADETH album (PEACE SELLS, BUT WHO'S BUYING) and features my favorite MEGADETH drummer, Gar Samuelson (R.I.P.)
I tracked 3 takes and even though the track started getting away from me during the double kick part, I pulled it back together and overall the 3rd take felt the best. 4 drumsticks gave their life during this tracking. They never stood a chance against the 21" Zildjian MEGA-BELL ride.

John, you did Gar immense credit, you captured his vibe very well, might I also mention, you played Slayers "killing fields" better than Bostaph did, you're an incredibly respectful drummer when doing covers, respect 🙏
Loved the cover Jon, great footwork. Gar had this thing that his parts didn't sound too complicated, until you saw them. 🫣😅
Preach dude, Gar is the most underrated drummer in metal, the guy is equally influential to thrash drumming as Dave Lombardo, say what you want about mustaine but, jeez, could he pick a musician
