To author Olof Nevenius: Thanks for uploading this historical video, I really enjoyed it. Gone are these Škoda trolleybus models, the old-style 'round' trams, most of the square KT4 trams, and yellow Ikarus buses. They all served us well, and with dignity.
It’s brings a sadness to see M/S Estonia, former M/S Viking Sally when you now that she took 852 souls down in dark waters that stormy night 28/9 1994!
Tallinn changed a lot. It was not good times, but quite brutal and raw times: uncontrolled organized crime, corruption, prostitution and lawlessness. I was young then, but i don't miss those times
You could tell Tallinn is more well developed than other capital cities of the former Soviet republics, thanks to its strategic coastal location and also the fact that Estonia has a more widespread industrialization and development process.
In some remote parts of former Soviet Union, the trams and rails are still in similar condition. I saw a video from Harkiv, Ukraine, from some years ago for example.
Thanks for this video. That diesel locomotive driving alongside Mere Pst is amazing. At those days, there were a lot of tracks and warehouses between Old town and Sadama/Rotermanni.
En väldig kul video, tack! Just i går åkte jag från Helsingfors till Tallinn och jag måste säga, att Tallinn såg så annorlunda ut på 90-talet än i dag. Och mycket dyrare!

Holy damn, even M/S Estonia in the video...

Смотрела и все надеялась увидеть знакомые лица .Как давно это было.

26 years later we still have same model trams running :)
While I love trams, the most interesting part for me in this video was seeing footage of M/S Estonia mere months before she sank. Damn.
Operaator on vist trammifänn. Vähe on hetki, kus kas ei sõida trammiga, ei vaata sellest välja, ei filmi trammi esiplaanil või taustal.

Amazing video of my hometown. Thank You!
That year, it was almost like a year since I left for France ... I was waiting suddenly to see my mother in pictures ...
scary how only a couple months after he recorded this video the same ship he took to Estonia from Sweden would sink, killing almost everyone onboard
Holy Shit! M/S Estonia.....RIP
