Went to bit.ly can't figure out how to leave comments so I'm in ? They remind me of a short 498 combat knife and the SP 8 take care brother if I win will you pif?
Thanks for letting us know about these knives. The "Machete" reminds me of the SCH64 Froe that Chris Tanner designed. Except this knife has that funky handle.
Great work knife for little money. I ordered a new kadex holster for this knife. I'm taking him to the woods. Perfect for preparatory work for the fire. Great balance. Survival knife is a great title.
I saw and handled both of these knives. I agree about the handles. I don't know what they were going for but it isn't comfortable. The fine tip on the survival knife turned me away too because I thought it would be weak and could break. I'm very surprised with how well it did in your tests.
For $30 I think the knife is a great value. Can do all the basic knife tasks including batoning. For someone with limited funds this is a great way to go. That said, the Mora Bushcraft Black or Orange is just a few $ more and has a great handle and true scandi edge with a 1/8" thick spine. Good review as usual Ben.
I'm no fan of giveway vids. But this is more of a review. Well done. I like these budget knives, that hold thier own. Not worried about handing over it to a boyscout to use.
Kind of fed up with so called spec ops crap that is not used by any one. I love schrade knifes and Ontario knives in carbon. Just really fed up with spec ops tie in.
"Im in" Great video, both of the blades look pretty good... they need to say what kind of "high carbon steel" tho. I looked around can't find any info on that! Thanks for the review and giveaway! btw, according to your link on that forum, the correct way to enter the giveaway is to subscribe to this channel and say "I'm in"... but in the video you say to go there to enter. A little confusing.
I have a skeleton type BUCK skinning knife that I think id be more afraid of cutting myself accidently with. Id use the machete probably for cutting vegetables honestly.
I like the blade portion of the knife. Sheath is junk (Schrade like), but who really cares about that. Handles are iffy, according to you, so in the end for the price, its still a good deal. The froe is badass!! I like shrades SCHF64. Not a big fan of this style video. I felt like i sat through one of Chris Tanners 2 hr videos on waterproof matches lmao
Unboxing vids should be quick. List specs, materials, price at the time on which sites, etc. Add your first impression but don't get elaborate. It will change.
mister smith They also make one with an upswept tip like the BK15. Maybe they figured since Ka-Bar discontinued those two knives they could sort of get a second life at Ontario.
Oh lookie lookie! The Giveaway Trolls Auto Software is dropping Comments Entries on this Video! SUCKERS! Actually, thanks for the Reviews, Ben. I was thinking of modifying Tanner's Froe into something VERY similar to the Machete, but I think that I'll just buy one of those. Nice change in the Format for reviews. But you probably don't have to waste time explaining everything that you look for. See how Tac and Wingman explain things. It'll save you time. Take Care.

I'm in! Ben, I have been a subscriber of your channel for several years now. Enjoy the in depth reviews.

Nice heat treat! Good testing and review. Good for the small task.
Both look really good bits of kit.
I'm in. Thanks
Reviews are always factual and helpful. Thanks
Comprehensive review, I like rubberized handles, to bad those aren't as ergonomic as they could be. The larger knife doesn't look like a machete.
How about compair with gerber strongarm?
Great work knife for little money. I ordered a new kadex holster for this knife. I'm taking him to the woods. Perfect for preparatory work for the fire. Great balance. Survival knife is a great title.
I like seeing this kind of testing, I wouldn't mind having either of these 2 knives
I like the classic blade shape on the smaller one...but not much else.
I saw and handled both of these knives. I agree about the handles. I don't know what they were going for but it isn't comfortable. The fine tip on the survival knife turned me away too because I thought it would be weak and could break. I'm very surprised with how well it did in your tests.

Very interesting, I like it. Thanks. Tony
is it a rat tail or a full tang?
To me the advantage of the machete is it's a good knife to baton with keeping your good knife sharp and safe.
a fun, informative review--subscribed.. think i'll pick up the smaller one to carry with my small wetterlings wildlife hatchet....
I like the smaller survival knife but nothing they haven’t done before.
I’m in!! I would love that rat-7
Like the knife, hate the sheath. I made a simple kydex one for mine. Totally worth the price though.
Hey Ben was wondering if you could review the fjall raven keb jacket and trousers. And if you could review the tops tom brown tracker knife!!
Like the review brother! Looks like a decent secondary blade allways good to have a back up in the pack I say😉
The shorter knife would work for me .. Thanks on the info
Don't like the handle? Send it to Cris Tanner and he'll put some Wilson wrap on it for you. Bwuaaahaaa!!!
When he's not out ''Surviving''
Legend says chris even has wilson wrap on door knobs and handles at home
Good change up on the video. Keep it up Ben!
Great video, you should do a copper themed edc
Good review and lesson. Not sure about them knives though.
Cool video keep up the good work

Joash Esguerra not much to review. Nice little keychain light but the tip is much better.
Cool knife
I'm in for sure!
Love the blade shape of the knife, but nothing else. Pass on the handles, coating and sheath for both.
I'm no fan of giveway vids. But this is more of a review. Well done. I like these budget knives, that hold thier own. Not worried about handing over it to a boyscout to use.
Made in the USA for $30-40 isn't too shabby either!

rusty gray it's actually spec plus.

I think The SPA Survival is worth $30 but it's probably not the best $30 fixed blade in the world.

Am I the ONLY one who thinks the clip point profile looks like the BK17?
mister smith it's a sharp looking clip point.
mister smith They also make one with an upswept tip like the BK15. Maybe they figured since Ka-Bar discontinued those two knives they could sort of get a second life at Ontario.
I want a pocketkife I dont have one
if that's a machete then I'm a porn star...

Not a fan of sand paper coatings on knives and at this point any company that use them should give it up.
There is zero benefit.
Other than rust protection I agree.
Hi !" What's wrong with this video ? It keeps freezing."👍LOL..."
Ontario has taken two proven knife designs, skeletonized the tang, and provided a ugly uncomfortable tiny handle. WTF?!! FAIL!!!
